I've had amazing buffets up and down the California Coast, as well as in Vegas and Laughlin NV, but this BUFFET 101 in the Glorietta / Landmark / Greenbelt shopping complex is simply incredible. The variety of offering is exciting really as well as the way they stage the food. Since there are a significant number of Chinese and Korean tourists in Manila, the variety of Chinese and Korean dim sum, soups and entrees is impressive. I really love the care they put into displaying the food as art, as you may see in the picture enclosed.

The love affair between Filipinos and buffet food is legendary. We've had restaurants offering a splendid selection of eat-all-you-can dishes for a set price since the early 90's but it is only recently that these high-class buffets started cropping up left and right. Among them is Buffet 101. It boasts of the longest buffet table in the metro and touts its food as having a "Five Star Hotel Feel". Well, true to their advertising, they do offer a very wide selection of dishes ranging from Filipino, to American, Japanese, Chinese and other Asian cuisine. What you would find on their selection is similar to what other buffet places have though; nothing that really stands out. What I love about their offering are the fresh shakes and juices. Shakes are made fresh. They also have a pasta station with a nice selection of ingredients. In terms of taste, it really is no different from what Vikings or Dad's World Buffet is offering. If you are taking your pick from their top dishes, I suggest you go for the Asian selection first. Their sweet and sour pork is worth coming back to. Along the line of Chinese dishes, take a handful of their fried mantaou and kropek to keep you full and satisfied. Skip the American dishes - they just take up space in your tummy but are not as tasty as the Chinese ones or even the Japanese sushi and sashimi choices. Here's a tip for those on the look-out for any good buffet place: The line is usually long. Try to get their as soon as they open for lunch or dinner (5pm) to skip the line or make reservations.

Nothing special about this buffet. Food was dry and the fresh boiled shrimp had a distinct smell.

Circles Event Café -- a buffet experience that spoiled me (in the best way)…read more I had a true five-star experience at Circles Event Café inside the Makati Shangri-La, and I don't say that lightly. The experience was so consistently excellent that I ate here five days in a row--something I've never done at any other restaurant. Dinner was outstanding. I tried a wide variety of sushi (fresh, well-balanced, and properly chilled), carved beef roast that was tender and flavorful, and tandoori fish and chicken that were perfectly spiced--aromatic, moist, and clearly handled by cooks who know what they're doing. This wasn't "buffet good"; it was legitimately good food that just happened to be part of a buffet. The dessert and fruit options were just as impressive. The gelato was smooth and rich, and the dragon fruit was so fresh and abundant that I kept going back for more--clean, bright, and refreshing after a heavy plate. Breakfast deserves its own mention. I ate a mountain of crispy bacon paired with an equal amount of perfectly cooked sunny-side-up eggs, plus potatoes. Everything was hot, replenished constantly, and cooked exactly how you'd want it--simple food executed flawlessly. What truly sets Circles apart, though, is the service. This is hands-down the best customer service I've ever experienced at a buffet. The staff are attentive without hovering, genuinely warm, and incredibly efficient. Plates disappear quickly, drinks are refilled without asking, and every interaction feels polished yet sincere. The ambience matches the food and service--elegant, calm, and upscale without feeling stuffy. It's the kind of place where you can relax and enjoy the experience, whether you're there for a long dinner or starting your day with breakfast. Bottom line: Circles Event Café isn't just a hotel buffet--it's a world-class dining experience. If you're in Makati and want variety, quality, and exceptional service all in one place, this is absolutely worth it. I'd go back again without hesitation.

Escolta at The Peninsula Manila: Buffet Review by Tina…read more I recently tried Escolta, the buffet restaurant inside The Peninsula Manila. It's positioned as a Filipino buffet, but the selection felt more international with random touches. What's on the buffet: * Filipino dishes: mahi-mahi, grilled seafood, classic viands * Japanese corner: sushi, maki, katsudon * Grill station: you can ask them to grill seafood or meat * Carving station: they serve lamb and other roasts * Desserts: wide selection of native delicacies like maja blanca, plus sorbets and ice cream (even soba ice cream) * Bread and cheese are also available, but nothing stood out Price: * I couldn't confirm the exact buffet rate, but it's somewhere around ₱3,500-₱4,500 per head. You can check their current rates online or via the hotel concierge. Ambience and service: * Elegant hotel setting as expected * Staff are very attentive and polite * Quiet, well-maintained dining space, not too crowded when I went My verdict: * The variety felt a bit confused. It says Filipino buffet, but the highlight was the Japanese and grill stations * Food was decent, but not something I'd personally pay over ₱4,000 for * Would I go back? Only if I'm treated or attending a special occasion * For the price, there are better buffet experiences in Manila (Circles in Shang mkt , The Alley at Conrad, or even Nobu brunch)

Pandesal, ube, Spanish breads, tropical fruits! And then there are Chinese, Japanese, American, Mediterranean selections too. I don't know how one fits all these goodies in one human tummy! The service was nice and quick both when at the table and going through the buffet lines. There is a lot of tables so it can be a little loud and I'd recommend getting there early as it does fill up. The food itself was pretty tasty! If you're from abroad, it's a nice introduction to a lot of Filipino food while also providing comfort food for other cultures. Would recommend getting authentic Filipino cuisine elsewhere but still a nice option

Space is very cramped (reminded me of a Chinese restaurant). Then there's the buffet spread which can be a bit confusing (reminded me of Spirals). The drinks and Italian section is even in a separate section (or room)! Food, it wasn't worth the 4K I paid for. Selection is there, but nothing stands out. Siewmai is the only bright spot I found but there's no way I can eat 4,000 worth of siewmai. Indian food was ok, flavour was on the milder side, but its not bad. Other than the siewmai and Indian food, only bright spot I can remember was their pizza. It was freshly made and nothing beats pizza that's freshly cooked. Compared to other hotel buffets... the service here is really (really) very good. I was honestly not happy with the food, the place and the parking situation, but their waiters and servers were really good and pleasing. I think this place is just not for me, but if someone is inviting you here and its free, then you should give it a try.

If I remember correctly, we ate there twice both days 2/16 & 2/17 and it was wonderful. We loved the first time we had breakfast there and came back the next morning before we had to fly out to Boracay. I've been to a lot of breakfast buffets in the US and both the food quality and service from the employees working here can't even compare. Kate (Katie?) and Mono were on top of everything and seem to know right away if we needed any assistance of any question. I merely stood by the egg station for a few seconds waiting to be helped and Mono saw me, walked over right away and got someone to help me from over the counter so I wouldn't have to wait long. Lots of warm smiles and the employees working during the times we dined. They seem to have the genuine drive and initiative to make sure every guest is taken care of and antennas are raised to help guests at a moments notice. Food quality was also high for a buffet. With some vegetables sourced from Baguio, several selections of freshly juiced fruits/vegetables and quality sourced ingredients from all over Philippines. It was not your usual breakfast buffet spread. I would not hesitate to dine there again for breakfast and would want to try their lunch/dinner buffet if the experience will still be the same. Clean, 5-star service and food quality, it's def one of my top picks for breakfast.
