My husband and I chose the Pediatric Associate practice for our three children based upon my own…read morepositive experience having Dr. Zetlin as my pediatrician growing up. Unfortunately, the quality of patient care has deteriorated over time. I have nothing but praise for the doctors and nurses in the practice, however the administrative and scheduling staff are absolutely unprofessional and rude. The issues range from being totally unpleasant when you walk through the practice door to sign in (the mood varies from visit to visit) to totally incompetent schedulers and a beyond rude and patronizing office manager. The worst has been issues with scheduling appointments- twice over the course of a year we were given appointment times, and drove a considerable distance to get to the office, only to be told that we were late and could not be seen because our appointment wasn't scheduled for that time (i.e given an appointment time of 9:30, arriving and being told the appointment was at 9:15). There have been other issues and errors with their scheduler/scheduling as well. When I attempted to address these deficiencies with the office manager Paula-she took no responsibility for any of the problems and deflected all of the blame, if you will, onto me. She continued to say that perhaps it would be better if I found another practice for my children when I expressed my frustration and irritation with the inconvenience the scheduling mistakes were causing our family. I told her that her statements were rude and completely inappropriate and told her she needed to tender an apology for her rudeness- one was tendered in a very backhanded, disingenuous manner. She made sure to restate that it would perhaps be better if we went elsewhere. I am certain the doctors are kept in the dark about the bad customer service aspect of the practice. For my part, I will make them aware and will round out our most currently due well child check ups. However, unless I am directly offered a real apology (and not on an internet or social media platform) and a guarantee we will never be treated so poorly again, we will be looking for a new practice. If you are considering this practice for your child's pediatrician, regrettably, I would suggest that you may be better off looking elsewhere.

We finally asked to be referred to a doctor with more specialized expertise but were directed to the wrong specialist! At one visit I was told my child weighed 23lbs when he was only 13lbs which is a significant difference when dosing medicine. One perk that attracted us to this practice was the ability to walk in any weekday morning at 8:15 for a sick visit. However, it was always the same awful, unknowledgeable doctor who gave incorrect diagnoses and I would rather wait for an appointment or visit an urgent care than see her. Our wellness visits are covered by our insurance but now they throw in a "developmental screening" and it is not covered by insurance. Quite a joke since the questions asked are the same asked by my other child's pediatrician but we are not charged extra for this screening.

The office is well-organized, the staff is consistently friendly, and the environment is clean and welcoming. We really appreciate the separation of well and sick visit areas -- it's a thoughtful touch that gives extra peace of mind. Everyone we've encountered has been so kind to our 1.5-year-old, which helps him feel completely at ease during visits. They genuinely interact with the kids and make the experience positive from start to finish. I recently had to call on a weekend and was connected with a nurse who was incredibly helpful and thorough in answering my questions. That kind of care really stands out. We see Dr. Diane Landram, and she is absolutely wonderful. She takes the time to listen, offers helpful and up-to-date information, and never makes you feel rushed or dismissed. This is exactly what pediatric care should look like -- highly recommend!

We started going here about 5 years ago. The doctors and staff used to be wonderful. However…read morerecently the quality of service has degraded, particularly with the nurses who answer the phone. They are snippy, impatient, and rude. While we like our doctor, who continues to practice there, we often have to deal with the nursing staff on the phone for tele-health type questions about illness and having school forms completed. In the past the nurses have been so kind and helpful but lately it has been an unpleasant experience all around. During the past few encounters I've found the nurses to be quite demeaning, impatient, and condescending. While we have had a positive experience with the doctor, we are looking to switch to another practice due to the poor quality of the nursing staff.

He has been practicing for several years and was recently named to the Washington Best Doctors. I am really pleased with the way he runs his practice, and with his view and approach to medicine. He is amazing with kids--friendly, quick, and my son really likes him (my daughter is a newborn and she likes everyone :) He is great about screenings and making sure, developmentally, your child is on track, but he does not intervene when not medically necessary. He explains everything to you in a way that you can understand but without being patronizing. Even though I was a second time parent with my baby, he still explained things in a way that made me feel at ease and "reminded," which is great because some people just expect that you will remember! Wait times are excellent. Maybe about 5 minutes or sometimes less. Also, he has individual buckets of toys for kids, which helps maintain the mess, and probably makes cleaning easier. The exam rooms are incredible. He has themed rooms---a firetruck room where the bed is a firetruck! There are orange cones, real vintage fireman hats on the wall, and little fire trucks and extinguishers for cabinet fixtures. He has a jungle room where the table is an elephant, and two new rooms that may not yet be finished--a train and a cafe. The technology is state of the art, and he tries to run things on an electronic health record system, which I LOVE! He monitors progress through an online CHADIS questionnaire, and keeps electronic records. He does print out material for you to take home, which is an important sign of a good primary care provider. We have never had an issue getting a sick appointment when we need one. He somehow manages to fit us in. Between two kids, this is really important. Also, his staff is excellent. His nurse is kind, sweet, and great with kids. On top of that, she is good and quick with the shots, which I really appreciate. Leslie, his front desk/office manager is quick, kind and efficient. I find that either you have a great doctor and an "okay staff" or the other way around. it is so nice to have both!!! Overall, you can't go wrong with Dr. Hirsch. We are truly very happy with him and his office!

The care provided by Dr. Kulp and his team is truly exceptional, it completely stands apart from any other doctors offices I've ever visited in my life. He and his team are incredibly warm and caring. They obviously go out of their way to put your little one at ease, and they genuinely care about them. Today, on a Sunday, our son woke up with what we thought was pink eye. We left a voicemail on the emergency line, and within minutes Dr. Kulp called us back inviting us to come in to get it checked out so that we wouldn't have to go to an urgent care, or keep my son from daycare the following day. The entire appointment, Dr. Kulp was thorough and so, so kind (it's really beyond kind - his bedside manner is unparalleled). He seemed absolutely happy to be there on a Sunday morning to care for our son. This is just one example of the many times we have had our decision to join this practice reaffirmed. I will say, in the interest of being completely transparent, when my son was a newborn we once had a nurse who was really struggling to take blood from my son for one of the routine newborn tests. It was very unsettling to witness as a first time parent (I'm a worry wart at heart but I try to be the cool, chill mom in public), she pricked him multiple times and just couldn't get it. They brought a different nurse in who was able to collect the sample without a problem, and everyone was very apologetic about what happened. I'm sure these things can happen to anyone, but I don't think that nurse is there anymore as I've never seen her again in the many times we've been back. All of the other nurses we've ever seen have been very professional and have provided great care, this was clearly an anomaly. We visited and "interviewed" another popular Bethesda doctor selecting Metropolitan Pediatrics. I know we made the right decision, and we plan to be patients up until they have to kick our adult children out!

My daughter is a year old now and we visited this practice a lot without any complains or any billing issues I noticed others listed in their reviews. Our previous pediatrician had known both of our kids since they were born and had been with us through many a daycare illness and then some. But for personal reasons we had to switch and after looking into several area practices and getting feedback from neighbors we settled on this practice. We're so glad we did. We've met with different doctors and they've all been great, very friendly and thorough. The nurses are also very kind. Getting a sick appointment or a timely non-sick appointment haven't been problems at all. Most importantly - appointments start on time and we've never waited more than a few minutes past our scheduled appointment. Doctors are very responsive through the portal if you have questions, and they have a nurse available if you need to call in with a question who will get back to you within a couple of hours. Their weekend visit options are also good. You will talk with the doctor first and determine if a visit is necessary and, if it is, you will see the doctor on all for the weekend in the office. They have an answering service for overnight emergencies but that pediatric nursing service will speak to the on-call doctor and make sure you have a clear plan. In all, it's been a great change for us and I'm so happy we found them.

From the beginning, everyone greeted us with a smile, were kind and polite. We were called several times for different tasks (bloodwork, X-rays, ct scans). Every nurse and doctor attending my mom was gentle and kind.
