My review is specifically about Dr. Odei. We had an awful experience with her in trying to get relief for my child over the weekend after we had already visited the practice earlier in the week. My child ended up having surgery. Up until this point we have had a very good experience with all the other doctors and nurses at THH. This is a review of their so called "policy" but mostly conversation I had with the nurse today when I tried to make a same day appointment for my son. The nurse was very condescending and arrogant in letting me know that I cannot get any service since I transferred my child for a visit last month with another establishment. I am a mom with 2 kids and I only want the best for my children, so we decided to try another pediatrician practice to know wholeheartedly who we would entrust our children and decide since we will be with the doctor for more than 18 years. My kids are 2 and 4. Why would we not be allowed to meet with another practice so we have basis of comparison? I asked the process to transfer back as I already had a 4 year old visit with Dr Liu for my daughter (a doctor who was recommended by a friend) and this nurse says she has to cancel it because once a transfer to another practice is requested, they will not accept children to transfer back. She could not make an appointment for my sons emergency and she cancelled my daughters appointment coming up next month. She sounded like a bitter ex girlfriend it was a tad bit ridiculous. Give us moms a break if we're just trying to make sure our kids are taken good care of. I am a tad bit OC and I like knowing all options for huge decisions. I was trying to find this policy online but I could not find it. I was not aware turning down offering healthcare was a thing. Her demeanor felt cold and unapproachable, which made it difficult to feel comfortable especially in a pediatric setting. I came in with my service dogs and the office manager asked to see the ID. I told her that's not a legal question, to which she said there are allergies in the office -- apparently allergies are superior than a disability. They said they had an office policy against dogs, however their website doesn't mention anything about that in their "office policies" section. Instead of taking me to a private area, she asked me what my disability was and what services the dogs were providing in the main waiting room with other patients and staff around. I was forced to tell her out loud what my disability was which and the services they were providing which was mortifying and embarrassing. She rolled her eyes when I told her my answer. I got so fed up that I finally showed her the ID card for both dogs. Officer manager is unprofessional and humiliated me because of my disability and the need for service dogs in a public setting, including doctor's offices. I've been going to this office for 9+ years and have never experienced anything like this before. This office manager needs sensitivity training on people with disabilities. read more

Wanted to add something else that was really wonderful about THH. Last year my youngest was in 4th grade and struggling with some stress, anxiety etc. This was due to both school stresses and related to his ongoing care for a congenital heart defect. We called with a major concern about some very dark thoughts and Dr. Fishel made room to see us the very next day. We then were immediately connected with a child therapist that was also part of the Mid Atlantic Pediatric group. He started off seeing her 2 times a month and now just sees her once a month. This got us out of a crisis situation and is providing him with some good life skills to weather all the challenges in life. Dr. Fishel checks in regularly to see how things are going with him. My son feels supported, safe and welcome. read more

I am a little shocked to read the reviews on here b/c my experience has been great! I must say, it's best to see all of the doctors there and select 2 that you click with. The way I see it, you're interviewing what doctor you enjoy the most. Good thing for you is they have options. Sometimes the wait can be long but it's a big practice so I expect it. Though, the wait time on the phone can be oddly long when calling in the mornings. For that reason, I gave them a 4 star rating. My wife and I feel like our daughter is cared for at this practice and we are highly satisfied. I wonder if those who didn't have a good experience are not nice people in general. We are lifelong fans of THH and cannot say enough great things about the doctors and staff. Are some doctors better than others? Of course, but we've been pleased with the care and support THH has provided since birth and through the teen years. Worst pediatric clinic in Germantown - I no longer recommend THH pediatrics to my friends and family! I recently received a letter from Dr. Fischel at THH Pediatrics withdrawing as our son's healthcare provider because of "under immunization". When asked for the reason it was revealed to me that my son is missing 1 vaccine for pneumonia. Really! One vaccine! Did THH pediatrics have to go to such lengths over one vaccine??? Shame on THH pediatrics as my son has relied on them for his life-saving asthma meds since 2015!!! We will be finding a new healthcare provider for our family! read more

What you get from THH: lack of personalized care, spin the wheel to see which doctor you get your next appointment, lackadasical treatment of symptoms (lots of throw away diagnosis - "well, let's just see how he is in another day with some more liquids and let's treat with motrin"), etc. I have found the some of the doctors there to be more interested in treating the symptoms rather than the root cause of the issue, despite multiple visits - lazy doctoring. There are a couple good ones but if you're looking for personalized care and see the same doctor repeatedly, this isn't the place for you. Worst of all are the walk-ins. They have walk-in times early in the morning but the nurse on staff does her damndest to screen enough to not see you. It's happened to me twice and both times I got a "come back tomorrow" or "give him benadryl and see how he does". I got more attention at the Ritetime. One of those times they refused to give my son a rapid strep test despite showing symptoms and that his sibling already had strep but because he was only within 24 hours of showing symptoms, they refused to do a rapid strep test and they then told me that when he did come in for the strep test, it would take roughly 3 days to get the results. Ritetime did it faster. This place has too many patients and does not spend enough time on them. You can do better. read more

We love THH! This practice came recommended by my OBGYN. We have had a great experience and I especially loved having Shara's help when I started breast feeding. We also LOVE dr.Holstein! I had to take my daughter to the ER once and was pleased to hear that the doctor we saw also takes her kids to THH. Depending on your personality/style you can choose the right pediatrician for your child here. They have a handful of different doctors and I've seen most of them until I chose my favorite that matched my style. Our fav is Dr. Holstein is down to earth, gives you the cold hard facts, relaxes me, makes me feel like I'm human, so sweet to my baby, knowledgeable, and gives excellent tips. I've seen Dr. Hoover, Dr. Fishel, Dr. Hsu, and Dr. Sidhu who are all very knowledgeable and gives excellent care to baby. Pro's: -Late hours on certain days -Same day sick appointment available -On call doctor or nurse always available after hours and returns phone call within a reasonable amount of time -Front desk staff is always friendly, fun, and with smiles -Separate seating for healthy and sick children -Clean and sterile environment Con's: -Reading the last Yelp review, I FULLY agree that Nurse Molly should not be working at a pediatrician's office. She's not warm/friendly at all, not informative, and seems annoyed about 90% of the time that I've had her. I think I'm going to start asking not to have her. *Note* Make sure you bring your medical form (for daycare or school) with you on the day of your appointment or else you will have to return and pay a fee for having them fill it out and sign. read more

I found this practice 18 years ago when I was preggers with my first daughter. From birth to now I've been very pleased with every aspect for both of my children. Very kind and attentive staff from appointments on the phone to the nurses to the doctors. Very clean office with a sick patient and well patient area in the waiting room. Doctor Lui is amazing and takes time to explain to my children what is happening at each visit and how to stay healthy. Highly recommend from this 18 years and counting mom. read more

Selecting this practice has been one of the best decision I've ever made. I normally take my girls to see Dr. Liu. Dr. Liu has always been great with my kids. My kids just adore her. She adds a personal approach to tending to my kids, is very patient, is never wrong with her diagnoses, and who's opinion I trust wholeheartedly. But when I can't get a slot with her, Dr. Grainger, Dr. Hsu, and Dr. Takai are also great. Dr. Grainger has such an amazing memory, he saw us on the street and immediately inquired about my daughter's health based on her last visit and that was 2 months. The only person I'm not too fond of is Dr. Hoover. She is not as warm and approachable as some of the other doctors and has given inaccurate diagnoses not only on my kids but my brother-in-law's kid but that is just my opinion, others may have a better experience with her that I have not been fortunate to. read more

This is like a scam company! I brought my kids to there several times, and almost every time they sent me unexpected bill. They will bill you twice for one medical record, bill you copyment for a well check that 100% covered by insurance. And it was very difficult to deal with their billing department. Sometimes, it takes several months for them to correct their mistake, and they will keep sending you the bill every month. Sometimes they are not willing to correct it, and just ask you to pay what you should not pay. Be aware, if you have too much money to spend, go ahead and take your kids to this place! read more

I wish I can give a five starts but customer service is horrible. I only go because Doctor Fishel truly amazing. The receptionist and nurses on the phone are beyond terrible. They are never available and when they finally get to your call , then place you on hold for alp get time . Don't bother calling from 8:30 to 11 am because they don't answer and don't you dare call near lunch or after lunch or at the end of the day. It the nurse gives you an advice , 90% is wrong so is best to leave a message to the doctor . I'm considering looking for another practice. Dr. Takai, and the doctors in her practice are simply wonderful. The first thing you notice, walking in the office, are two separate waiting areas. One, enclosed area for sick children, and an open one for healthy children. As a germaphobe, I can appreciate their taking the time to think, hey, maybe some parents who are just bringing their infants in for shots, don't need to be contaminated by coughing diseased children. :) As a new, and undoubtedly paranoid parent, I totally respect, and appreciate this courtesy. The facility is also quite nice because it is brand new. You're not sitting in a Pediatrician's office that is "seasoned" if you will. In addition, they have taken the action of having hand-sanitization stations around the waiting area. Sheer genius! Although choosing a doctor is a very personal choice, I think you'd be hard pressed to not to find a doctor that you and your family find comfort in within this practice. read more

We have been using this practice since August. I am very impressed with the doctors, we have seen 5/6 doctors in the practice and each of them seem great. The front desk staff can be a little frosty, but I'm sure they are fed up with screaming kids all day. You will get reprimanded if you are late, so try to be on time. My first appointment was a bit of an eye opener b/c I had to breastfeed in front of the doctor and then "she" squeezed my nipple so hard to express the milk that it brought tears to my eyes. I almost decked her. Apparently, this is a common thing (a friend of mine had the same thing happen to her with this doctor), so be warned! I really liked Dr. Liu, Dr. Hsu, and Dr. Hoover. We are trying them all out and will select one that we like for some consistency in a few months. read more

The Doctors at the practice are great. We have seen several of them since our kids were infants and now almost adults. Dr. Hsu is the best. The front desk though can use a whole lot of refining. Dr Hsu is amazing! I love his outgoing personality & energy! It was extremely important to me that we find the best pediatrician around the area for my baby girl. After some research, we settled with THH Pediatrics. Be aware that they are extremely busy and starting around lunch time, the place can get PACKED. If you have a newborn, I would recommend making an appointment either first thing in the morning or at least before noon... so that you have less of a chance bumping into a sick child (even though they have a separate waiting area for sick children). The front desk staff seem like they have everything under control, no matter how busy it gets. They're friendly and they don't show their frustration when their phones are nonstop ringing while trying to take care of people coming in and out of the office. Make sure you bundle up your little one because the rooms are really cold! read more

Worst medical practice ever!!! Avoid this place at all cost. My son was a patient there from when he was born till he was about 2. My son was very delayed in speech and was constantly "sick" this practice diagnosed my son with at least 6 ear infections and each time we visited the office was prescribed antibiotics for said ear infections. Common sense would tell you that maybe there was a little bit more going on then just an ear infection so luckily my wife took my son to an ear specialist and it was determined that he needed surgery to insert tubes in his ears to release the built up fluid in his ears so essentially my son was deaf and these incompetent doctors at THH could not figure this out. 2 years later (now) I receive a notification from THH that my personal information may have been compromised my a shady employee. This place is a joke. If you care about your child's health avoid this place. read more

Dr Liu has been the pediatrician for my 3 and 4 year old since birth and has been fantastic. She is always friendly and you don't feel rushed talking to her. My kids are shy but she knows how to keep them at ease. Just went there today and the wait to see her was literally 2 min from waiting room to exam room and then 3 min from exam room to the doctor coming in. Great experience! read more

This office has been so helpful to my family! My son sees Dr. Hsu and we have been blown away by his attention and kindness to a nervous little boy. My daughter sees Dr. Liu who is not only attentive but will get down on the floor with us to make my 1 year old girl feel comfortable. The doctors here are amazing, especially Grainger, Hsu and Sidhu. However a few of the nurses in this practice should not be pediatric nurses, especially one named Molly. My 1.5 year old went in with a fever and she was rude and impatient with him. In fact, this occurred on multiple instances. I eventually complained to the office manager and Dr. Grainger. This women has no business being a pediatric nurse or a nurse in general. I personally know 5 other parents that feel the same way about her. I have stoped taking my child to this practice because of her. The receptionist (Florence) is super rude also. This really did used to be a good pediatric office. Terrible practice and doctors take everything very lightly, we have seen them since birth of my child. They will give antibiotics if they THINK there is an infection they are not sure what is actually happening with your baby. They told me to use steroid creams on my babies dryness and it made it worst like burn marks (later which got fixed just by vaseline petroleum and no doctor at this practice told me) receptionist who will guide you to do stuff without doctors consent it is totally horrible. My wife found this place on-line before the birth of our child, and they were very good about providing her information about the practice. They have weekend hours, and are close to our house. We see Dr. Joseph Hsu (unlike the other reviewers, we've only ever seen him, not the others), who is really great guy, good with our child, always full of good information and extremely friendly. Very clean and professional office with a nice staff, good with their paperwork (they were very quick filling out some stuff we needed for our child's daycare). I've never had to wait much in the waiting room (which is divided into a sick and healthy section), and you don't wait too much in the exam room (a plus with a baby). Very good place for kids, and they offer flu shots in the fall for both kids and their parents. read more

The place is just ok. Been happy with most of the doctors except for one but my only problem which lead me to give only 3 stars is my son never gets to see the doctor he likes. We like Dr. Liu very much and always request her but she is never available. Other doctors are repeatedly available but not her. If this condition continues we will find a new doctors office because the doctors that we continually have to see are just ok and don't instill the confidence in me that I have for Dr. Liu. Dr. Holstein is amazing. She is very kind and friendly. She connects with my little one easily and is extremely patient. She actually listens to you when you're talking about the problem in order to gain a full understanding of the entire situation and then diagnose a problem instead of jumping to conclusions. Fantastic group of doctors, we love them all! My son usually sees Dr. Fishel, Dr. Granger and Dr. Holstein but has also seen Dr. Liu and Dr. Hsu and they have all been phenomenal!! I always recommend their office to all of my friends and will continue to do so. One word of advice though, try to avoid Saturday appointments! Also, I try to make the first appointment of the day or you will be waiting for a while but that's only because they are so thorough. We have been using THH for sixteen years. The practice is wonderful. The front desk personnel have always been personable to us and nurses are available via phone. If it wasn't for THH, we may have lost one of our children who was ill on a Sunday morning. Dr. Hoover met us on a Sunday morning and quickly realized that in addition to a cold, my son was having an anaphylactic response to a nut he had recently consumed. Within seconds, an ambulance was called and she was administering life-saving procedures. If she hadn't met us on that morning, it may have been a different story. Today, they offer evening hours too. I highly recommend you consider this practice. We moved thirty minutes away a decade ago but our children have and will remain patients of THH. read more

I found this practice online and it has good reviews. I personally picked Dr Liu. She's gentle, nice and patient. However, the male nurse seems to be impatient and not friendly. My son was actually uncomfortable with him. Although some staff and nurses seem to be nice, some are kind of rude. My son had an appointment yesterday and he was crying almost the whole time. He doesn't want to be in the room for a long time plus he had shots. When we stepped out of the room, some staff were staring at us as if that's their first time to hear a baby cries and they expect babies to be quiet. The doctors are attentive and informative; I really do like them very much! But the office staff is apparently overwhelmed. Due to personal tragedies last year, I was late in scheduling my daughter's annual physical. This year, the appointment scheduler told me I'd have to call the insurance company to get my daughter's physical before school starts -because it's less than 365 days since the last exam. OK. The insurance company said the doctor's office would have to call for authorization. A very short, curt office staff member then told me they would NOT do that; they have too many patients to make a phone call. I'm not spending nearly $200 for an annual physical because the office staff can't make a phone call. I'll be searching for a new pediatrician and I can relieve them of one patient from their load. read more

This place used to be so amazing years ago. I like the doctors there but their staff is horrible. The front desk staff has no customer service skills! They are rude and never greet you or speak to you with a smile. They all seem angry and frustrated all the time. It's ok for them to make patients wait 1/2 hour or more to see the doctor but god forbid if you are even 10 minutes late they will cancel your appointment and then interrogate you like you are a criminal for showing up late!! I found this practice while pregnant with my first baby. Since I worked in a medical office from senior year high school through college, I am quite particular when it comes to my family's medical care. I am overly impressed with THH Pediatrics. My 6 month old daughter is seen by Dr. Matt Fishel. Our first appointment was the day after my daughter came home. My husband and I had been up all night with our colicky newborn. With only two hours of sleep and my nerves frazzled (plus it was raining and cold)--I had forgotten to bring the hospital paperwork documenting the baby's medical tests and results! I felt like an idiot. Instead of rescheduling, Dr. Fishel contacted SGH and had the baby's paperwork electronically sent to him- nice. There were issues with the baby upon her first check-up and the need for further medical testing. I was sent home with instructions for a procedure to do at home and advised to bring the baby for a follow-up visit in 2 days. Later that night, around 6pm, I received a call from Dr. Fishel himself to personally inform me of the baby's test result (which came out clear) and to ask how she was doing. Now let me tell you that in today's medical culture, a Doctor calling his patients is rare! My daughter has seen only Doctor Fischel for her 2 week, 2 month, 4 month and 6 month check-ups. He is clear, direct and always answers my questions and gives me tips without treating me like a clueless first-time mother. I have never felt rushed either. They have updated their vaccines so some vaccinations come as "3-in-1" which I am sure my infant appreciates. They have a clean office, two separate waiting areas (one is for the sick), the front desk is amiable and efficient, and I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting area and no more than 5-10minutes in the exam room. They also do their best to place you in balmy-temperature room when you have an infant (since you have to remove their clothes). On two occasssions, I have had to change appointment time and/or dates at the last minute, and the front desk are great in working with you. I have used their nurse line to ask questions (baby had a slight fever and decreased her intake of milk so I needed to know when I should take her in to be seen) and although I had to leave a message, I received a call back about 1/2 hour later. Overall I have had a great experience and highly recommend. read more
