I found this practice while pregnant with my first baby. Since I worked in a medical office from senior year high school through college, I am quite particular when it comes to my family's medical care. I am overly impressed with THH Pediatrics. My 6 month old daughter is seen by Dr. Matt Fishel. Our first appointment was the day after my daughter came home. My husband and I had been up all night with our colicky newborn. With only two hours of sleep and my nerves frazzled (plus it was raining and cold)--I had forgotten to bring the hospital paperwork documenting the baby's medical tests and results! I felt like an idiot. Instead of rescheduling, Dr. Fishel contacted SGH and had the baby's paperwork electronically sent to him- nice. There were issues with the baby upon her first check-up and the need for further medical testing. I was sent home with instructions for a procedure to do at home and advised to bring the baby for a follow-up visit in 2 days. Later that night, around 6pm, I received a call from Dr. Fishel himself to personally inform me of the baby's test result (which came out clear) and to ask how she was doing. Now let me tell you that in today's medical culture, a Doctor calling his patients is rare! My daughter has seen only Doctor Fischel for her 2 week, 2 month, 4 month and 6 month check-ups. He is clear, direct and always answers my questions and gives me tips without treating me like a clueless first-time mother. I have never felt rushed either. They have updated their vaccines so some vaccinations come as "3-in-1" which I am sure my infant appreciates. They have a clean office, two separate waiting areas (one is for the sick), the front desk is amiable and efficient, and I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes in the waiting area and no more than 5-10minutes in the exam room. They also do their best to place you in balmy-temperature room when you have an infant (since you have to remove their clothes). On two occasssions, I have had to change appointment time and/or dates at the last minute, and the front desk are great in working with you. I have used their nurse line to ask questions (baby had a slight fever and decreased her intake of milk so I needed to know when I should take her in to be seen) and although I had to leave a message, I received a call back about 1/2 hour later. We love all of the doctor's at THH. My 10 month old son has a very complex heart defect and they have been there for him since the day he was born. THH has to help us manage the many specialists and therapists that our son sees (cardiology, neurology, gastroenterology, etc.) The care and concern they show for both my son, my husband and I are beyond compare. Even though we moved to Laurel when our son was 1 month old, we still travel up to Germantown just to see these doctors. Dr. Holstein is our primary pediatrician, but I have not had one bad experience there. We've seen all but one of the doctors and we love all of them. And trust me, there are times we're there 1-2 times a week. Every time I think about changing pediatricians to have an office closer to home, I just can't go through with it, because I just can't imagine going to anyone else. I would HIGHLY recommend THH to anyone who is looking for a pediatrician. read more

All the doctors my child has seen here have been wonderful. They will get you in quickly if it is an urgent issue. They have some weekend hours. I would strongly recommend Dr. Holstein--she is wonderful with children and very caring. Clean, bright office that is very pleasant. Friendly front desk staff as well. read more

I wish I could give this place negative stars. I have been bringing my daughter here for a year since we've moved to Germantown. Every time I brought her in there was always some issue or another to the point where I ended up leaving my last appointment and telling them I would find another doctor. The first time I brought my two year old daughter in the doctor (Holstein) came in and proceeded to have a full fledged conversation with my two year old and began examining her without so much as saying hello to the two adults in the room. She did not take the time to thoroughly examine her and none of then doctor's I have seen over the past year did either. They pop in and out in a way that is to me unreasonable. We have come in and waited for almost an hour because we weren't checked in properly and that was when my daughter was sick. Then after I year I received a lecture on my previous pediatrician not sending my daughters medical records a year ago. Now we faxed the proper forms to my previous doctor a year ago and I have been in and out of the office and no one ever mentioned they did not receive the records. That means the doctor has come into the doctor's office and treated my child multiple times without even looking over a chart or record. That to me is ridiculous. I promise you that if I had an unpaid balance I would have known about it. The office is unorganized and the record keeping is poor. You will notice that there are several pictures of children that decorate the office. That is because they are operating their office like a fast food drive thru in order to try and see every child in Germantown. My son went to see Dr. Fishel on Friday morning (7/6). Dr. Fishel was 100% sure that my son's pain is related with muscle due to his swimming, it is not infection. However, it is getting worse and worse, and we had to go to ER on Saturday morning. The ER doctor told us that my son has salivary gland infection. I do not have any confidence with this office anymore. One of my friend also got a false diagnoses with one of the doctors in this office and that sent her son to Children's Hospital ER. read more

I have been taking my children to Dr. Takai and THH pediatrics for 7 years now. They were the docs that saw my kids when they were born and have been taking care of them for years. I LOVE THIS OFFICE. All the doctors we have seen have been wonderful, but especially Dr. Liu and Dr. Granger. They both remember my children every time, know them and their histories and are very caring and friendly to my children. The office staff is very professional, the waiting room is clean and open, with a separate area for sick visits and you never have to wait long to see the doctors. I think this is a great practice and have recommended them to many of my friends :) read more

I have only been here twice with my new born. Both times I have seen Dr David Granger and he's been excellent. Also there has been very minimal waiting periods. I hope it continues this way read more

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Takai's office since we moved here 9 years ago and they are wonderful! All of the doctors are knowledgeable,caring, compassionate, and they take an interest in getting to reallly know their patients. The front staff are exceptional and lovely caring people and my daughter just adores them. They spoil her (and every other child) that come thru the door. It is not often you find a practice like this with people this involved in their patients (they even collect photos of each child and display it proudly in collages!)! If you are new to this practice your mind can be at ease knowing you are with the best. Thank you for your good work! read more

We have been using this practice for about 3 years, This has become such a crowded and busy practice, that these days we have to wait sometimes 40 mins to see the doctors, they call you fast, but once you are inside the room- you have to wait, then wait and wait some more just to see the doctors for less than 3 mins! Dr Hsu is a very good doctor but he is always rushing to end the visit quickly. I must say the new doctor Granger is very thorough though. But never go to the Dr. Liu- she is very impatient with crying kids and one time when I took my daughter for suspected ear infection, she could not even check my daughter's ear- because she said my DD has lot of wax! That night situation got worse, and I took my daughter to ER- and ER doctor was able to check her ear and prescribe us medicine. Liu is horrible with children and diagnosis as well. read more

The male doctors are wonderful but Takai is mean and very short tempered. I have a lot of friends and family who go there as well and they all say the same about Takai--She is very cocky and stuck up, if she's going to treat her patients poorly. she shouldn't be a doctor. Hoover and the Holstein are alright but they can be short tempered too. I prefer the male doctors because they're so humble about their education and knowledge. They go straight to the point but at the same time, they're thorough and patient. We haven't seen Dr. Fishel yet but I'm sure he'll be better than the female doctors. read more

We were originally referred to Dr. Hsu (awesome!) from a co-worker about 6 years ago with our 1st baby. (My co-worker had been using them for over 8 years prior to her recommendation.) We've seen all the docs in the practice and they are all great!Seriously, two kids later, many doctor vists later, we would not go anywhere else. They are the best pediatricians in the area, great thorough care,great office, great follow up! What impressed me the first time (about 6 years ago) was when we had a small medical issue with our daughter a few months after birth and so we went to see the doc and they told us to watch how she was doing etc. Anyway, that evening (i think it was after 7pm) I get a call from Dr. Liu cause she wanted to know how our daughter was doing and specific to the protocol she "prescribed" for us. This was the first time in my life I received a call from a doctor cause all the doctors i ever see I have to call them and chase them down! :-) I've seen this same sort of follow up from their other docs as well so maybe its their "corporate culture". They continue to go over and above and impress me with their thoroughness, care, follow up! I really do love the practice especially, Drs. Hsu, Liu and Granger! I have been taking my kids to this practice since we moved to Germantown 13 yrs ago. The office has grown tremendously over the yrs but they still manage to have a personal touch. Florence has been at the front desk since we started with the practice and she remembers the kids name and also asks how they are doing. All of the Dr's are great but Dr Takai is my favorite . I think its because she is the Dr who came to the hospital to examine my daughter the morning after she was born. She always maintains a personal touch and never seems like she is rushing you out. I have seen all the Dr's and they are all great. There is always someone available after hours and they have late evening appts and Saturday appts which is great for working parents. One of my daughters has asthma and they have been very proactive about helping me manage her care. Now that my daughter is a teenager Dr Holstein is her favorite because she takes the time to talk to her about puberty related topics and she is fun . I am constantly referring people to this practice because I really think they are the best practice around !!!!!! read more
