After standing in line (and mentally preparing for glory), I found my holy grail: The Stinson Special. Peanut butter ice cream loaded with Reese's Puffs, Reese's Pieces, peanut butter cups, and a peanut butter swirl. Basically, peanut butter on peanut butter on PEANUT BUTTER. No way was I risking this masterpiece in a cone--two scoops in a bowl, please and thank you. A few minutes later, I heard the call: "STINSON SPECIAL--TWO SCOOPS!" That was my moment. I grabbed my prize, slid into a concrete table under the pavilion, and...oh. my. goodness. It was orgasmic. Every single bite was a peanut butter explosion with different textures and crunches--smooth, swirly, chocolatey, crunchy perfection. Next time, I'm hunting down the pulled pork sandwich I haven't had since the 90s--if it's even half as good as I remember, I'll be in foodie heaven all over again.
