Only went to her because my primary care physician was out of town and I ended up needing back surgery for the injury after my regular doctor ordered the relevant imaging and referred me to a neurosurgeon. read more

I have been a patient of Nisha Sharma, MD through Dignity Health for several years, and have been very reluctant to see her each time, due to her cold demeanor, ignorance and lack of communication issues. She seemed like the only female available and was taking new patients at the time I established care with her. I noticed for our appointment over the many years she disregards my concerns and interrupts me/talks over me when I am describing symptoms, does not thoroughly check the areas of my body that I have called her for an appointment to examine, but does the bare minimum there just to get paid. Nisha does not listen to me, doesn't explain, validate, or repeat back to me any of what I am expressing to her. If your test results are in the normal range but low, she will not treat you for that condition, like anemia, be warned. She once told me I had no anemia, but my test results were showing low signs of iron. I went to an endocrinologist a month later with my lab results I gave Nisha, and the endocrinologist said I was anemic put me on iron for the last 2 years. Nisha is sterile, cold, rude and very close minded. She doesn't offer comfort or reassurance about what could be going on with my illness. This last time I went to her because I had sores in my mouth for 4 weeks and had pain in my esophagus/thyroid area. I had already gone to the ER, and now this was a follow up. Right when she came into the room to see me she she was forceful and argumentative when I explained I wouldn't be continuing with the thyroid medication because I believed it was causing me panic attacks. The kind that I would go to the ER for. That is just common sense, not to continue with medication that can cause those events. She felt my neck - in the wrong place where my thyroid was actually located...and I had to explain to her it was further down where my thyroid was. She looked in my mouth for 1 second and said there was nothing wrong. When I asked her to look again more closely she was negative and frustrated and looked again only for me to point out where my sores were - at the tip of my tongue and inside my mouth. When I asked her for some prescriptions to decrease the swelling, pain and redness in my mouth she did not offer any diagnosis/solutions or prescriptions. She misunderstood me entirely saying she was wasn't going to prescribe me anything that I didn't need (like for yeast in my mouth). I said, "I didn't say I had yeast in my mouth!" Before I left I explained that she could of at least acknowledged the fact that I have been in pain for 4 weeks not being able to drink or eat, and she could have offered at least some some prescription lidocaine mouth gel and offer me some possible diagnosis to consider. Instead she referred me to 3 specialists (which I don't need because I have PPO insurance) and gave me no possible indication anything was wrong with my mouth, or the fact that my esophagus was inflamed and It was hard to swallow or breath. Because I said I wasn't going to take that thyroid medication anymore and the fact that I was questioning her skills and really hearing and seeing why I was there that day she basically talked over me and said I should find another DR. I did not feel safe in her space and refused to wait in her treatment room after our appointment was over and she told me to find another DR. I said that was a good idea and I was going to leave. I wish I could leave no stars and I usually don't write reviews, but I feel it is necessary in this case. The general dissatisfaction with Dignity Healthy has been growing for several years now. I have never experienced such a lack of service, care and knowledge with this particular doctor office. I hardly ever go there, sometimes I only ask for referrals because I always have to wait for a long time (it was almost two hours once). Last year, when I called to ask to renew my referral to neurologist, the call center representative told me that I needed to see the primary provider before they give me another referral (time sensitive - migraines). When I asked her why I needed to see Dr. Skinner, the representative with no shame said that it has been a while since they charged me for a visit. I think that's the essence of Dignity Healthy! They only see money in you! Dr. Skinner used to be my primary provider (equally bad reviews) . When I asked the doctor's office to switch my prescription from CVS to Amazon delivery (70% cheaper), the doctor said that she had never prescribed that drug to me. I thought I was crazy as I was looking at the previous refill with her name. I decided to change to a different doctor within the same practice hoping she/he would listen. It also became a trust issue or lack of it! My first and only visit with Dr. Sharma was not good. Her lack of knowledge and care was horrible. Not to mention her not listening at all. I always thought when it comes to my health, I am entitled to ask questions. Dr. Sharma became very defensive and according to the letter I received today from Dignity Health, she felt uncomfortable. How about me??? When will Dignity Health care about be the patients as people and not the $$$ signs. Who is going to make us comfortable? I received a verified letter today saying that I need to find another provider "preferably outside Ventura County." My question to Dignity Health is are you going to listen to my side of the story? Would you even care about that? One more thing, Dr. Sharma sent it a referral for a dermatologist. It was finally approved through the insurance last week. The place called me to schedule an appointment and realized that the referral was for a provider who was no longer there. This happened at least several times. The records are hardly ever get updated. There was an instance when I had to look for my own OBGYN and then ask the primary to sent it a referral. Last time, it saved me at least 6 months. The referred OBGYN was booked for 6 months out. Next day: I received a phone call from Dignity Patient Advocates "Monica" as I requested yesterday. Monica had no intention to advocate for me - a patient. Instead of trying to understand the patient issues and try to mediate, she just told me that letter I received was a "withdrawal care" letter. I asked why the letter, which is a legal document sent to me by Dignity Health to me does not state that. She said that it was possibly an outdated version and it applied the withdrawal of care. I asked her why she called me if she had no interest in hearing me out. She said she called just in case I had any questions about the letter (implied meaning of it). She also said that I had 30 days to file a grievance, which is not on the letter, but again she said it was implied. I am very disappointed in this overall experience. My husband is a retired military and we always were able to receive care on base. This time around the base clinic was overfilled and we were forced to go to a private sector. At Dignity Healthy you are not to question or express disagreements with your treatment otherwise they would take it as you are being "combative." read more

This 'doctor' was negligent when my daughter went to see her, 1st time, to establish a new primary doctor and to address a serious gastrointestinal problem. Ms Sharma was rude, dismissive, did not make eye contact and seemed annoyed with my daughter- talking over her that she cannot prescribe mental health medications and why can't she just take an Uber back to her other city to see previous doctor (SO tone-deaf; daughter is on Medicare, does not have funds for $70 Uber rides ) Sharma ordered a blood test, did not ask anything else about her health concerns and did not address her gastro-issues. My daughter was devastated and felt so UNCARED for, I wouldn't wish this doctor on anyone- especially someone in need of a caring, attentive doctor. read more

If there was an option for no stars...is this! I Had to wait a whole week with an ear infection to be seen by this Dr (Nisha Sharma) so that the day of the appointment she can tell me that since I'm 5mo pregnant she can't do or prescribe me anything! That i should have gone to my OBGYN. She proceeded to check me and said your ear looks fine. I was so upset because she didn't swab me for COVID or give me anything for pain! Basically USELESS! She is so inexperienced un profesional DO NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT WITH HER! I went to the ER St Johns Hospital right after. it was a 9min drive and right away they checked me turned out i was positive for strep throat, ear infection, and Fever. Absolutely Disgusted that she didn't do anything for me but collect my money! Never have I experienced this even the ER dr was shocked. Never again! Switching dr ASAP! read more
