I've no complaint with the doctors, per se. The physicians are often competent - when you actually…read moresee them, for the 10-15 minutes Dignity Health allows them per visit per patient! And I am not exaggerating to make a point; this is what the staff will confirm when asked. It took me three years of 15-minute visits just to get to the point of maybe finding a solution for my health issues when... MY PRIMARY AND MY SPECIALIST BOTH QUIT (because they had to see15-18 patients per day). AND I WAS GIVEN NO NOTICE. Very unprofessional. So I could get no "Referrals" (really: "permission") to a new specialist without first establishing a relationship with a NEW Primary from Dignity (oh what a misnomer that name is), which of course took two months to get - just to start over from square one! Gawd forbid I had something like diabetes which requires regular care! And to reiterate what the other poster (Shelly G) said here because it's important: YOU CAN NOT ACTUALLY CALL OR CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR who contracts with Dignity! You can only contact Dignity's "central phone answering system" which might take a message and might convey that to an assistant in your doctor's office. At some point, that assistant then might communicate whatever to your doctor, etc. ad nauseum. In actuality, in three years with Dignity, my response time has averaged between never and 4-5 days, and only if one leaves two or more "messages." - This is not what Medicare determines to be REASONABLE ACCESS to medical care. Example: I had a minor hairline tibial fracture. I couldn't see my doctor so I went to ER. Saint John's Hospital in Camarillo is fantastic. I saw a doctor there in under 10 minutes. It was clean, beautifully situated, etc. She ordered an X-Ray, "stat." But of course that "referral" had to be processed first through Dignity. After calling Dignity numerous times with no response, I gave up. I never got that "stat" ("urgent") x-ray. Luckily, I think and hope it healed by itself after eight weeks. The ER doctor was annoyed that the Insurer (Dignity) could and would just ignore her, but was helpless. This is one reason why so many doctors quit Dignity. Insurer's guidelines are aligned with their bean counters who calculate how to maximize profits with minimal concern about their patient's health. Note: Currently when one visits any doctor, you are REQUIRES to fill out numerous pages of forms. Only 2-3 pages are related to your health - which the doctor has no time to read. But about 2-4 pages are legal paperwork where your waive your right to sue, regardless, and must accept "Binding Arbitration" by some lawyer preselected by the Insurer! Gawd! This is what happens, folks, when your medical care is turned over to Insurance Companies! Good luck! PS: As of this writing, two of the three photos of doctors employed by Dignity (posted below) no longer work there!

She seemed like the only female available and was taking new patients at the time I established care with her. I noticed for our appointment over the many years she disregards my concerns and interrupts me/talks over me when I am describing symptoms, does not thoroughly check the areas of my body that I have called her for an appointment to examine, but does the bare minimum there just to get paid. Nisha does not listen to me, doesn't explain, validate, or repeat back to me any of what I am expressing to her. If your test results are in the normal range but low, she will not treat you for that condition, like anemia, be warned. She once told me I had no anemia, but my test results were showing low signs of iron. I went to an endocrinologist a month later with my lab results I gave Nisha, and the endocrinologist said I was anemic put me on iron for the last 2 years. Nisha is sterile, cold, rude and very close minded. She doesn't offer comfort or reassurance about what could be going on with my illness. This last time I went to her because I had sores in my mouth for 4 weeks and had pain in my esophagus/thyroid area. I had already gone to the ER, and now this was a follow up. Right when she came into the room to see me she she was forceful and argumentative when I explained I wouldn't be continuing with the thyroid medication because I believed it was causing me panic attacks. The kind that I would go to the ER for. That is just common sense, not to continue with medication that can cause those events. She felt my neck - in the wrong place where my thyroid was actually located...and I had to explain to her it was further down where my thyroid was. She looked in my mouth for 1 second and said there was nothing wrong. When I asked her to look again more closely she was negative and frustrated and looked again only for me to point out where my sores were - at the tip of my tongue and inside my mouth. When I asked her for some prescriptions to decrease the swelling, pain and redness in my mouth she did not offer any diagnosis/solutions or prescriptions. She misunderstood me entirely saying she was wasn't going to prescribe me anything that I didn't need (like for yeast in my mouth). I said, "I didn't say I had yeast in my mouth!" Before I left I explained that she could of at least acknowledged the fact that I have been in pain for 4 weeks not being able to drink or eat, and she could have offered at least some some prescription lidocaine mouth gel and offer me some possible diagnosis to consider. Instead she referred me to 3 specialists (which I don't need because I have PPO insurance) and gave me no possible indication anything was wrong with my mouth, or the fact that my esophagus was inflamed and It was hard to swallow or breath. Because I said I wasn't going to take that thyroid medication anymore and the fact that I was questioning her skills and really hearing and seeing why I was there that day she basically talked over me and said I should find another DR. I did not feel safe in her space and refused to wait in her treatment room after our appointment was over and she told me to find another DR. I said that was a good idea and I was going to leave. I then received a letter in the mail warning me of my bad behavior. What a bunch of -----. Worst DR ever!

The nurse was clear and efficient with her instructions. Dr. Wade came in shortly after and completed my annual and discussed my issues. Over time I started feeling a bit of a rushed feeling then I started feeling dismissed after my tests came back normal. I've still been struggling with those same symptoms on top of new ones that make the first ones worse. I went to see her yesterday for the new symptoms and the second I started explaining that I was still having the same ones she cut me off and told me she didn't want to talk about those symptoms since the tests came back normal and wanted to focus on the new ones. I was taken aback but switched to the current symptoms. Since the new ones exacerbate the old ones I had to talk about it. And she didn't not like that and told me the results were fine and I was just going to have to accept that this was it. I told her I felt dismissed because the cardiologist I got referred to did not even see me for a follow up she had referred me for. Instead he had his receptionist call and cancel my appointment. She seemed a bit surprised by that and just said she'd review his notes again. At one point she told me she sensed some anxiety from me and I told her yes. My health has been declining for the last year and I'm frustrated and anxious cause I can't eat in fear of making things worse. She then asked if I had a therapist and when I said I was looking to go to one she told me that was good as mental can make physical health worse. I agreed but told her I did not think my symptoms stemmed from that. At some point I said I'd like to leave as I knew I wasn't being heard. We talked more. She told me she thought that there was something physically wrong but my tests came back fine so that was that and I had to accept it and to talk to a therapist about it. When I pushed back and said I would like to see another cardiologist for a second opinion she told me I had seen the best medical professionals available and that I needed to accept it and she felt like I was dismissing her. I told her I appreciated the tests ordered but that I would like to know what is wrong. Shortly after she asked if I wanted to leave and I left. I did get some information for my new symptoms but the overall experience was bad.
