There is…read morelittle to no language assistance for Spanish-speaking patients, which makes it very difficult for them to communicate and receive appropriate care. They have also scheduled appointments for patients on days when the clinic was closed without notifying them beforehand. Patients should not have to travel to an appointment only to discover that the facility is closed. The facility itself is outdated, and the staff often seem unwilling to help or make an effort to address patients' needs. Communication, organization, accessibility, and basic customer service all need significant improvement.

Dr. Castel listens to all our concerns and goes out of her way to make sure that my mother always feels like she is important and that her needs will be taken care of. My mom says that Dr. Castel is the best doctor that she has ever had and appreciates the care she is given. We also appreciate all the care we get from Dr. Castel's assistant Kristen! Kristen is always kind and understanding when she is working with us. I sleep well knowing that my mother is well cared for with Dr. Castel and Kristen, looking out for her needs! Billing dept mgr and scribe says my spouse has low back pain. He takes an occasional Advil after riding over 40 miles on his bicycle and up in the mountains at 76 yr old. Dr Williams asked me if I took calcium/D3. I have NEVER been D3 deficient and started taking calcium with D3 in it in when 50 years old as Dexa scan said a bit of osteopenia which has changed little in 25 years. We simply answered Dr Williams questions and I asked her to check my husband's hearing. The scribe and Billing Mgr will write in anything they can (true or not) to charge you extra! It was all routine exam, eyes, ear, throat heart, lung, and breast exam for me. No internal exams. We will be changing doctors asap and refuse to pay extra fees for routine exams and to answer questions. We are healthy, exercise, eat right, and NOT overweight. We reported them to Aetna FRAUD dept! I notified Dr Williams. She will be retiring in 2 years she told me. AVOID THIS GROUP with offices located in Ventura and Oxnard. This is the first time they started UPCHARGING despite going there for several years for our physicals/wellness visit!

When I finally contacted his office to find out what to do next, I was told they had not received the results because "the labs are slow right now." Dr Lami is a gem, he understands and agrees to be helpful if you need something and then when you call back, the staff can't be bothered to assist. I think the staff answers calls for all of the offices and some of them just do what they can to get you off the line and don't really care if they help you. I guess they think when you call back someone else will do the work. Lazy. Then they get mad that you call so many times. Trust me, I wish I didn't have to spend 2 days trying to get someone to understand what is needed. I did the work asking about my request from the dr 2 weeks ago. Then gave them a heads up on Monday or Tuesday. Then asked for what I needed yesterday. Now today, All the calls to the pharmacy then Dr office then pharmacy etc. come on. I was experiencing some anxiety and emotions (which I explained as soon as she came in) and was clearly upset. However, instead of being kind, comforting and understanding, She behaved as if I was angry. I told her I hadn't been to the dr in awhile and just feeling anxiety. She didn't like the way I was sitting in my chair with one leg up and spoke to me as if I was a child and not a 40 yr old woman. Then she said she couldn't continue the appt or care for me at all even in the future. This is upsetting and not how someone should be treated by a DOCTOR. I definitely don't want her as my dr if she can't show empathy when someone is upset/crying. I felt judged and dismissed. I've never been treated this way by a Dr. and hopefully no one else will be.
