My first and last time here. I had an appointment for a pedicure and no one seemed happy to get off their phones to do it. Once in a chair, the employees began bad mouthing another employee and not discreetly. The young woman who did my toes cut so deeply into my cuticles, several of my toes were bleeding. This has never happened to me before. The whole time, a man who worked there, was speaking on his phone using foul language. The entire experience was uncomfortable. I went in without an appointment. I needed a pedicure . My feet were aching. Chi-Chi gave me an excellent pedicure. She deserves five stars. I would give everyone a five star except the owner argued with a customer in front of everyone . A different employee complained about a customer not leaving her a tip loud enough for everyone to hear. read more

I've never posted a bad review on Yelp. Until now. I made an appointment for 2 pm for a gel mani/pedi with Lisa on 4/27/22. I was in the pedi chair just before 2-that was great. They didn't have OPI Dutch Tulips so I went with OPI Red. My nails were naked so I got to soak my feet a little longer-got me past them not having the color I wanted. Nothing good after that. Look closely at the polish job on my toenails AND SKIN. I called on 4/28 to complain that Lisa cut 9 of my fingernails too short and I wanted the red polish removed, and that there was gel stuck on my skin so thick on my toes. David told me to be there at 1 today and he'd fix my fingers repaint my toenails. Look at my repaired fingernails. I paid $80 for a gel mani/pedi on Wed and look how great they look 2 days after. I did walk out of the salon 26 minutes after David "fixed" my manicure-BEFORE I let them fix my toes. Again look closely at the pictures. read more

A genuinely wonderful and safe nail salon. David, his mom, and their team will take great care of you. New to the area I used this salon twice and had perfect nails both times. Then I made a mistake...upon the recommendation of someone else I decided to test out ANOTHER salon slightly closer to my house - big mistake. While it may have been the technician I had and not the overall salon, my nails were damaged. The same day I went racing back to David and the team at Nirvana to try and salvage/correct the situation (aka re-do). Not only was David able to talk me through what he was going to do, he explained what the other salon had done incorrectly and what I should be aware of if ever going to another salon. He didn't rest until my manicure was perfect for my engagement photos. No more trying other salons - Nirvana is officially my new destination and I can't wait to bring friends with me next time. This salon is terrible. They have inexperienced girls doing nails that do not know what they are doing. The one that did my toes took too much of the sides of my toe nails and someone had to go back and TRY to fix them. My gel manicure looks horrible and uneven. They did not do any cuticle care or lotion for my manicure. They nicked my finger, it started to bleed, and they did not put alcohol on it or even apologize. The man was sick, sneezing, and hacking. He never washed his hands. He also ground my daughters nails too much with the electric filer and left the tip pattern ground in her nail. Very sloppy and disappointing visit. While in Fairhope, I was in desperate need of a polish change. After reading a couple of Yelp reviews for Nirvana Nails & Spa, I decided give this salon a try. I came in with two others in my group. Between the three of us, we had two pedicures and three SNS polish changes. The staff gave us a friendly greeting and were able to get started on our services quickly. The three of us were very impressed with this nail salon. The salon itself was clean, and the customer service was awesome. One person in our group is disabled, so it meant a lot that the staff went out of their way to make sure she was comfortable during her pedicure by adjusting her chair and offering her pillows. Unfortunately this is something we haven't experienced at other salons in the area. Next time the three of us are in Fairhope and needed a mani or pedi, we will definitely be returning to Nirvana Nails & Spa. read more

I came here with my 2 young girls on black Friday, excited for some relaxation. Unfortunately, I was ACTUALLY INJURED. I had a black eye from eyebrow waxing that lasted 8 days. When I showed the technician the then-small bruises while I was still there she said it would be gone in a day. Furthermore, as for the ironically named nirvana massage, both my big toes have ingrown toe nails and the hot rocks were sufficiently hot that I YELPED when she put them on me. Was staying at the Grand Marriott Resort for a wedding and needed a manicure/pedicure pronto. Found this place close by, but was nervous about venturing over because there were no yelp reviews, so I'm writing this for other out-of-towners looking for a good nail place close to the resort. From the outside, Nirvana Nails looks like any other no-frills, strip mall, nail salon. It's sandwiched between a Goodwill and a Winn/Dixie. Eep! But once you enter the door, you will find yourself in a bright, airy and CLEAN establishment run by very sweet and friendly Southern-fried Vietnamese-American women who take pride in their work. As I mentioned, the place is very clean. They use a fresh pack of sterilized manicure tools for each customer. They sanitize the foot baths. They are careful and gentle but thorough. They do not rush through a mani/pedi as I've experienced in other nail places but they are still efficient. The massage chairs are above-standard and well-maintained. They rub your feet with fresh lime or lemon or whatever the citrus fruit of the day is. The biggest thing for me is they respect what you ask for. They do not try to upsell you in the middle the pedicure with all the annoying "only $5 extra" offers. They are above that. You can enjoy your pedicure in peace. I'd guess more than half of the clients were returning and very consistent customers, a good sign. They were all chatting and laughing with each other. This seemed to be their happy place. During my visit, two long-time customers came in. They didn't have an appointment but were just dropping by to give Valentines Day gifts to the manicurists. Good vibes everywhere. The lady next to me got the "Nirvana" Pedicure which includes a hot stone massage. During the pedicure, the lady must have reached nirvana because her sighs were practically "When Harry met Sally" orgasmic, and when the hot stones were massaged onto the bottoms of her paraffin'd feet, she let out a good ol' Southern "Woo Wee! Honey Child!" which made everyone else giggle and applaud her newfound personal indulgence. Every nail salon seems to have one lead woman who is bossy or grumpy or both. Not this place. The leading lady was adorable & bubbly, smiling and thoroughly enjoying the company of her equally amicable clientele. I smiled the entire time I was there, and walked out with very pretty hands and feet. So if you're visiting from out of town and looking for a good, clean local place to get your nails done. I'm in the area visiting a friend and had some time before we were meeting up so made an appointment 24 hours in advance to make sure and been seen in a timely manner. I got into the place and still sat and waited with barely anyone speaking to greet me or set expectations on how long I'd be waiting. Not impressed with customer service at all! While everyone was friendly, I won't be going back. The girl that did my nails had tried to get some of the polish out from under my nails, because she got polish everywhere, and was digging into my skin and it hurt. When I said "Ouch that hurts" she looked at me and laughed and Continued to do what she was doing. When I left I had clumps of gel under my nails and there was the clear gel left all over my fingers. She tried to put the top clear coat on with two coats of polish on one hand and 3 on the other, so I had to remind her she needed another coat. There are bubbles and scuffs on the polish. Just visited this place for the first time and it was terrible. I had more hangnails afterwards than before I got the manicure which has never happened. The lady I had kept trying to correct the nail polish by using her own fingernails but she had cotton all over hers so there were streaks in my nail polish in several nails from the cotton strands. She had to do one nail 3 times because it was bubbly and not smooth at all. The nail polish has already chipped off of most of my nails and it's been 2 days. For starters I would give this business a less than 0 star rating if that was an option. I am extremely disappointed in the overall service that was shown to me. We went in, with an appointment, to get our nails done. My family and I evacuated for Hurricane Ida and I wanted to have some peace and relaxation, which was sadly the exact opposite of what was given. Kevin was the worker who provided the service. I had never seen the process he used to do this. I have very healthy long natural nails. He kept using the drill on them even after the gel polish was on. I have never seen anyone do this. My gel nails peeled off within the first hour of us arriving home. I get my nails done at my salon in Metairie, LA approximately once a month and they last for about 3 weeks. I called the next morning and he would not refund the money. I was worried about the damage to my nails have to go through the process so close to the last one. However, the owner stated that he "wanted to make it right" and was more than capable of getting the job done but only by redoing the nails. He would not refund the money. I took this opportunity, thinking the owner would at least know what he was doing. Well, once again I was disappointed because they started peeling off that same day once again. He put three layers of gel on and two top coats. I have never seen that before either. I was too upset to call back so my daughter called for me. She explained the situation and asked for a refund. He yelled over the phone saying it was ""my nails fault" and refused to refund and then hung up on my daughter in mid sentence. I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. I would give this "business" less than a 0 star rating if possible. My mom and I both had 3 pm reservations for our nails this past Saturday at Nirvana. We are evacuated for Hurricane Ida and wanted to treat ourselves and be able to relax from all the stress. To say we were disappointed is being kind. For starters we were there for over 2 and a half hours for a service that takes at most 45 minutes. Kevin, the worker who INSISTED he do both of our nails because the other workers "do poor service and would have us there for hours" had us there for hours himself plus his work was the worst I have ever seen and I have been getting my nails done monthly for 6 years. My mom's gel polish peeled off within the same hour we arrived home from the salon. My dip with tip cracked in half within the first 4 hours of us being back. Keep in mind I normally keep my nails on and looking amazing for 2 1/2- 3 weeks and my mom about 3-4 weeks. I called yesterday and nicely explained the situation to the owner and asked for a refund for us. The owner in return was extremely rude and unprofessional saying it was our nails fault, not anything his employee did. He refused and said "that's not how we do things around here". While I was getting a manicure, the technician used the cuticle trimmer to trim something off her nails (this is happening mid manicure). I was appalled and asked for new tools to which she reluctantly and with an attitude grabbed a pair nearby. I watched them move from one person to the next with the same ones then copped an attitude with me when I asked for clean ones saying that it isn't necessary. Then he barely filed my nails then tried putting polish over the nail without cleaning off the file dust. When I asked if I could wash my hands first he jerked my hand back and sternly said no. After just a few minutes wait - for which he apologized - I received excellent services (spa pedicure/regular manicure) from Leelee.
