These pictures were taken the day of my appointment when I got home. I came in with beautiful,…read morehealthy, shiny brunette hair and left with a total disaster. I asked for a soft, faded balayage and instead got the most blotchy, choppy, uneven mess you can imagine. It was nothing like what I asked for--TEASY balayage, not zebra stripes! I was absolutely devastated. I trusted them, and they RUINED my hair. I'm still traumatized and thank GOD I went to a different hair salon to fix it. And to top it off, when I asked for a refund, the owner said no, unless I went there and they fixed it AS IF I had the confidence and trust them with my hair again, HECK NO, no apology, no accountability, nothing. I've never felt so disappointed by a business. Save yourself the heartbreak and stay far, far away from this place. Total nightmare!!

I've gone here periodically over the last 4 years and had good experiences with a variety of…read morepeople, including Gina, for cutting length off my straight hair. I called yesterday to schedule a cut, left a voicemail as it was likely their lunch hour, and received calls back a little while later from 2 different employees. I scheduled with Marjie who I called back first, then called back Gina who said she could take me earlier and that my appointment from the previous call was not in the system. I called back Marjie to inform her I had scheduled with Gina instead. Marjie became angry and told me Gina is "always stealing people's clients." I received the text pictured from Marjie 2 hours later, and the responses after I let her know she'd texted me by mistake. I loved coming to a Tucson institution with a local vibe- they used to be an Aveda salon. But after this lack of professionalism, I will be taking my business elsewhere going forward.

I had the worst perm of my life with Margie, and reached out to the salon personally by email and…read morewas completely ignored. I've been consistently getting perms to make my 2a/2b wavy hair curly every 6 months or so since April 2023 and every perm before this one has not only lasted forever but also not overly damaging. Hair stylists regularly comment on how healthy my hair is. Every perm prior to this one has been at Empire Beauty School between Tucson and Cincinnati. And my experiences there were leaps and bounds more professional than my experience with Margie. After bragging to me about her 40 years of experience and being the perm specialist and telling me that I would have a "real professional experience with her," she proceeded to rush the entire appointment to the point I felt rushed out of the chair. Did not really ask me what I wanted, so I told her that I had gotten a bricklay perm in December and that before that I had gotten a spiral perm last May and would like to get a spiral perm again. She doesn't even know what a bricklay perm is, but she is the perm specialist? When I say I want a spiral perm, she says "ok but that will cost extra" and I say that's fine because I would prefer a spiral perm. she them goes to grab all the rods without even asking me how tight of a curl I do or don't want. I wanted a perm with grey and white rods but I never even got to tell her that before she did a perm with purple, grey, and white. First things that were red flags with this perm: she didn't wrap a single rod in a spiral perm wrap. she also had relatively large sections and not enough rods. I assumed that she had decided she couldn't do a spiral perm and now I was getting a traditional body wave, even though there had been no communication with me about it. By the time we put on the perm solution I noticed it was not as strong smelling as the spiral perm solution, which is generally more intense than typical body wave. When she put the developer on she said "now we wait 10 minutes and then you'll be done." there is not a single type of perm that develops in less than 15 minutes. Most are 20. But I assumed she's a perm specialist so maybe she knows better. By the time we washed my perm out and dried it, she didn't even use a diffuser on my hair and it was a frizzy mess that I hoped would get better once I washed it out after 48 hours. It did not. It's been about a month and it already looks like my last perm looked on month 6. The real kicker here is when I went to pay, she told me she had done the spiral perm for me after all. And I was genuinely confused because none of the rods were wrapped in a spiral wrap. So I was charged $100 and tipped 25% like I typically do for a bad body wave perm that she lied and said was a spiral perm. the entire appointment was less than 3 full hours and it's typical for a spiral perm wrap to take 4 hours. I had this perm touched up for some important interviews and I'm now spending more money to try to save my hair with bond building treatments because it's literally the worst perm of my life. I sent photos of my last spiral perm and compared it with my recent perm to the salon email asking for at least the money covering the extra cost of the spiral perm vs a regular body wave back and they completely ignored me. I do not recommend getting a perm here and certainly not from Margie if you want any agency in your perm experience.

I liked that I was able to see availability and cost online (major bonus especially since I was browsing before places were open). I booked with Robyn and it was $51. I let her know exactly what I was looking for and she took time up front to ask the right questions. I wanted to keep my length so I appreciated that she started cutting just a little less than I wanted and checked in with me along the way. Once my cut was done, I did let her know I wanted the style a little straighter and she happily helped out to smooth out the curl from the blowout. I really appreciated it, but at the end of the day the goal is to walk out happy and be able to give 5 stars, right? I'm not local but I would recommend or visit again if the opportunity came up. The place was clean, open, bright and comfortable. I was greeted right away and offered a water. I also saw they had coffee and tea as well.

I was originally scheduled with my usual stylist, but the salon called to say she had left and they would be assigning me to someone new. I ended up with Robin, and I was extremely disappointed with the service. I asked for a simple trim, but she cut off at least four inches of my hair. This has been a recurring issue at this salon--stylists seem to leave frequently, and I rarely get the same person twice. After this experience, I no longer feel confident returning.

Yelp Review - 1 Star…read more I rarely, if ever, leave negative reviews, but my experience here was so disappointing that I feel obligated to share it. I arrived on time for a scheduled appointment for highlights and a haircut. After my hair was washed, I met briefly with the owner. She spent most of the consultation speaking to a junior stylist and asked me very few questions. I clearly explained that I wanted highlights that would hide my gray hair and a flattering cut (I gave specifics about the cut). During that consultation, a woman walked in and announced that she did not have an appointment but wanted to see if she could be accommodated. To my surprise, the owner decided to take the walk-in client first, leaving me sitting in the chair waiting for approximately 45 minutes while she highlighted the other woman's hair. When she finally returned to me, the consultation remained minimal and rushed. Throughout the appointment she continually moved between multiple clients, rarely focusing on any one person for long. The entire visit lasted 4 1/2 hours despite the fact that I have very short hair. Unfortunately, the results were the worst haircut and color I have ever received. Rather than blending my gray hair, the highlights emphasized it and left my hair looking noticeably grayer. The haircut itself was uneven and impossible to style. The result was so poor that I eventually returned to my longtime hairdresser in Pasadena, more than seven hours away, to have it corrected. He was genuinely shocked by the quality of the cut and tried his best to repair it. What surprised me most is that this salon has so many positive reviews. My experience was the exact opposite. The salon appears to be a victim of its own popularity, too many clients being scheduled at once, insufficient attention to individual customers, not respecting people's time, and not enough time spent listening to what clients actually want. Being kept waiting while a walk-in client was served first, combined with the poor communication, lack of attention, and disappointing results, made this one of the worst salon experiences I have ever had. I do want to add that the other staff were friendly - it was the only good thing about the visit. Oh - and they offered wine. I would rather a good cut and highlights than wine, any day. I will not be returning.
