Took our vehicle to Nippon Auto Works recently. Needed work done on the suspension and was given a quote by the dealership. The owner, Dave, was super responsive even with his busy schedule. He did an assessment and gave us a great price quote which was way cheaper than the dealership quote. When we turned the car in, he also noticed it needed additional repairs and continued with great pricing and still got the work done super fast. I can see why they're one of the top rated independent shops in the area. I highly recommend Dave and Nippon Auto Works and will be a returning customer if I ever need work completed. Thanks Dave! read more

The family that owns this business is truly so kind, honest, and hard-working. I would recommend any good friend or family to this shop. They worked on my Acura this week, and were so honest about the work they completed. They saved me hundreds of dollars. This family business is truly one of a kind. read more

Dave is simply the best. We only have Japanese cars and he's certified master mechanic No upsells here but he'll make recommendations to keep you on the road; not sure if he does financing though like the other shops (which is a practical bait and switch tactic) read more

I took my Honda in for service as it was having battery/power issues. Unfortunately, I had to get it towed in. He kept me informed on what he was going to do and was always transparent with any costs that were going to be involved prior to any work being done. Dave was thorough and once I got my car back, it was running better than ever as he even improved a previous brake pad job that was rubbing & making noises. It's rare you have faith and confidence in mechanics these days, but Dave is honest and I never felt like I was getting hustled. Quality work at fair prices, we will bring our cars here from here on out. Thank you, Dave! read more

Nippon Auto Works enhanced the performance of an old Scion XB. New engine mounts stopped all the vibration and shaking when at stop lights. An engine tune up gave the engine back some pep it used to have, making driving more enjoyable. Air conditioning with new compressor made the summer bearable again. All work done well and prices were very fair. Located on Stephanie between Galleria Mall and Russell. read more

Dave is so nice and honest. He fixed my spark plugs, air filter and changed my oil. He also checked my breaks and told me they aren't due yet. He was able to do a lot in the time I gave him. There will be a wait since he is thorough and he's only a 2 person team fyi. Definitely would come back again. Thanks Dave! Glad I found you here on Yelp. read more

Dave is probably the best mechanic in town. He would not try to overcharge and rip you off or recommend you in any other services you don't need. His skills were very impressive that the car was fixed in no time and how accurate his diagnosis is. I'm very pleased with the shop. ありがとう ございます! read more

Our entire family has been having our vehicles serviced by Dave for years. He is honest, accommodating, and reasonably priced. It is so hard to find an honest mechanic in Las Vegas/Henderson. I pray he never retires! read more

I don't live in Henderson/LV, but I have family here. My Toyota developed a coolant leak while I was visiting, and my parents recommended Dave @ Nippon Auto Works. I'm a meticulous, quality and customer service-obsessed person and a huge car guy. I'm glad that I went to Nippon Auto Works. Dave was so friendly and accommodating, even though he was busy. He communicated during his diagnosis, and fixed the issue for a very reasonable cost. If it says anything, I would have happily paid more for the work. Details and experience matter and great mechanics are very hard to find these days. I might have to schedule some planned maintenance work with Dave the next time I visit. read more

Dave did the 30000 maintenance check on my car Lexus 2020 IS300 including an oil change and was great. Even though it's a little far for me to go, he is my new go to mechanic and worth the drive. read more

I've been doing business here for 2 years. Most shops these days are simply a remove and replace kind of auto shop. Nippon Auto has mechanics that can FIX things. I have many auto places much closer to home but I'll drive the extra miles to get quality work and courtesy service. Bonus tip: his prices are always fair. read more

I was referred to Dave at Nippon Autoworks by a lady I casually met at Costco Tire shop.... and gave it a try, to make the story short....I was very impressed with his work, competitive pricing, and most of all, he's honest. For sure I'll come back when my vehicle needs service. Thanks. read more

Dave is the best mechanic I've ever been to. He's honest, he works hard, and always gets the job done. Most shops try to upsell you on a bunch of crap you don't need, but not this place. I was in a pickle because the steering on my 2003 sienna went out, but they were able to get me in. Not only were they able to get the parts quickly, but repairs were super fast. David is a wonderful, hardworking and honest man. When I first took it in, I was worried that I'd be spending more than my budget allowed (as I had with previous mechanics). To my surprise and delight, the price was extremely reasonable, and the quality of service simply cannot be overstated. I will be bringing all my vehicles here for future services. honestly 20/10 for every thing! thank you so much! read more

What am AWESOME guy this Dave is. I was trying to find a mechanic closer to home, in case I had to walk home, and was fortunate enough to find Dave. He told me to bring in my car at 2:00 PM on a Saturday so he can take a look, even though he closes at 2:00 PM. After 15 to 20 minutes of trying to determine what may be causing the leak, he provided me with a couple options, and didn't even charge me for the initial visit. All I can say is "WOW". Looking forward to seeing you next week, as well as all my future automotive needs. ***Edit 3/22/18*** After Dave cleaned up the oil in my engine compartment, oil once again accumulated in the engine compartment, so I brought my van back and left it with him for a day. The cause of the leak was as he expected, so he was able to order the parts, and have it fixed by the following morning. It's been a little over a week now and no more oil leak. Thank you again Dave for an awesome job and great service. read more

Nippon Auto Works - Check it out.. he even has snacks. - Auto Repair Near Me - Henderson, Nevada

IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR'S HEALTH, DON'T BRING IT HERE. HE CAN'T DO BASIC SERVICES AS A MECHANIC SHOULD BE ABLE TOO. IF YOU DO, PROCEED WITH CAUTION AND DOUBLE CHECK HIS WORK IMMEDIATELY. DON'T BLINDLY BELIEVE THE POSITIVE REVIEWS, THEY ARE DUE TO INCENTIVES HE GIVES FOR THEM. I brought my vehicle in for Transmission Fluid Drain and fill, Oil Change Throttle body clean, and suspension/motor/mounts checked. He quoted me $135 and he stuck to the quote. I was wondering why it was relatively cheap. Dave is the worst mechanic in the industry. Lacks proper tools, very rough with handling the vehicle, and does a subpar service. Dave overfilled my transmission fluid and engine oil by a significant amount which caused a significant amount of leaks in both my engine and transmission. If I hadn't caught it in time, it could have cause irreparable damage to both the transmission and engine. He did clean my throttle body, but there was still a bit of carbon in there and what ever he used may have contributed to my motor knocking. His roughness broke my intake boot. He told me it was already torn, but I had it replaced almost a year ago and rubber doesn't degrade that quickly and I garage my vehicle and dont drive that much either. Maybe 8000mi a year. I saw how he was handling my car and I am not surprised he broke it and refuses to admit it. Its a plus to have a battery powered dash cam hidden hood's insulation of my vehicles for maintenance purposes. I only review it when I feel the car is not running well which is rare. I am not that paranoid. He said he repaired the boot, but yea his repair was a strand of electrical tape. Really Dave... 1 strand Electrical tape. You dont have wire ties let alone gorilla tape??? I asked if it will last till my next oil change, which I do in six month intervals, he said yes!!! Really, you think 1 strand of electrical tape will handle all the bumps and g's one's vehicle incurs. He also shot my hood struts, I know they were getting worn, but he completely shot it to the point where lifting the hood just drops back down. After all this, I went to my trusted mechanic. They were always good to me and always find ways to save me money. They fixed all of Dave's negligent service for about $1526.42. I asked Dave for a refund and to pay for the invoice. He refused to pay for the invoice, but he claims he refunded me, but I dont see it yet. I will have to wait and see. I was about to take this to court, but the time off work to go to court costs more than winning the case against Dave. If he keeps up this mediocre work, he will probably be out of business anyways. Dave's work feels like he looked up a quick youtube video to do the work. A warning to everyone, check his work if you plan to come here for servicing, otherwise look elsewhere. This is a one man shop, Dave does all the repairs and long term will suck the money out of you due to negligence and lack of proper tools and procedures to do a decent job. I could have done the job myself and could have done a better job. I come to a mechanic to get knowledgeable input in any issues with the car and not to have the car running like its on its last legs when I leave the garage. Word of advice to Dave: FIND ANOTHER PROFESSION!!! UPDATE: He did indeed refund my money, but did not pay for the invoice due to the damage incurred due to his negligence and idiocy. Will never come back here again. read more

I've finally found a mechanic I actually trust! My husband and I had been concerned about our car for the last 2 years since we discovered there was heavy sludging in the engine. Every quote we received to replace the engine was expensive and we didn't trust any of the mechanics we spoke with so we just kept putting off the decision. Last month, however, things got much worse and we knew we couldn't put off the decision any longer. After trying again in vain to find a mechanic we could trust not to rip us off, my husband's friend told him about Dave and Nippon Auto Works. After talking to Dave in detail we finally felt confident we had finally found a quality mechanic we could actually trust. I've never met a more sincere, honest, and hard working person in my life. My husband and I share one car, so Dave quickly arranged to get a replacement engine out of L.A. the same week (and not just any engine, but a high-quality replacement engine from Japan). He personally drove down to pick it up and then spent the entire weekend, when he is normally closed, to get the new engine installed. Nippon Auto Works is a small shop and Dave does all of the repairs himself, so we actually felt really bad that our single car situation meant Dave had to completely change his schedule to help us. No other mechanic would have done this for us but Dave was genuinely concerned that we would have to pay for an extended car rental so he went above and beyond to help us out in our difficult situation. The car is driving great now and we saved a ton of money by replacing the engine instead of buying a new car. Dave even replaced two belts, a hose, and the spark plugs, when he changed out the engine, and all total it still came out to less than what other mechanics quoted us just to replace the engine. We feel blessed to have found Dave and we'll never bring our car to anyone else. It's so refreshing to meet someone that is passionate about what they do and truly cares about their customers. Thanks again Dave you're the best! read more

Needed someone to repair my oil and power steering leaks on my minivan before driving to LA. Found this business via Yelp and was super happy with Dave's work and willingness to squeeze me in on Friday into Saturday morning.
