I actually don't know how many theaters are within Esquire, but there are several. If you're going for your reclining seats, your drink holders, you craft cocktails and beer..... go somewhere else, Yuppie. If you're going for the experience of seeing a movie and soaking it all in, go to the Esquire Theatre. They play Independent, New Run, Foreign and Retro movies primarily. I've even gone and seen Animation Festival Collections. Their selection changes weekly, so visit their website for the latest and greatest. You can purchase tix online, but they also have the old school box office window, with a live person, at the front. Literally a box office! Once you enter, you're greeted by the smell of fresh delicious popcorn. Freshly made and, if you so desire, with REAL butter. Yes.... REAL butter! Not some butter flavored "liquid". They have a modest candy offering along with drinks. But you know what they don't have? Pricing that makes you reconsider choices in your life or having to check in with your financial advisor before you buy a small popcorn and drink. I don't know the prices off the top of my head, but I can say that when I buy a small popcorn and a drink, I don't have the urge to angrily ask the person behind the counter if they "are feel good about what they're doing". Reclining seats? Nope. Drink holder? I don't know, maybe. Stadium style seating? No...you're not at a stadium. Plush comfy cusiony seating? Not a chance. Old school flip-down movie house seats? You got that right! And they are fantastic. Look... I'm not boarding a nine hour international flight. I'm going to see a movie. I'm fine with a regular movie seat. The theaters aren't big either. This isn't a complaint. If I really want to see some highly intense visual masterpiece of a movie, then sure, I might got to one of the "big theater" theaters with their IMAX Dolby-riffic Deluxe 8D Aural Experience to sodomize your senses. But, those usually aren't my jam, and that's just me. I like a good movie. The Clifton area is what it is. It's artsy, quirky, independent and fun. It's a great atmosphere and, in my opinion, The Esquire is the heart of Clifton. The way that way-back-when marquee juts out from the building with it's big bright bulbs ablaze that's telling of what's playing NOW. It's a work of art in itself and always a great experience. Would I go back? Hell yes. It's my first choice for movies that I cannot always find elsewhere. Much of the Esquire's selection doesn't always play at "big box" theaters. Sure, they play some of the first run new movies, but they offer so much more than that. Make a night of it, in Clifton. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance to choose from. Have dinner, maybe check out a few of the independent shops up and down the street and then head to your movie. It will be a great night. Pro-tip: Watch the parking. You can park on the street, but be mindful of the signs. You can use whatever parking app it is (I can't remember) and max out the time. I do believe you can extend it right from the app, should your movie run longer than your parking time limit. There are also various parking lots.

After two years at MCI I spent around 8 thousand dollars and trained under Certified Master Chefs. :Since this is a community college, there is no school pride which is sad to see, a lot of students when asked about our basketball team didn't even know where the gym was. : Things to check out if you go there currently for lunch I suggest Bakery Hill on the 2nd floor of ATLC, everything is made there fresh everyday and the counter people are pastry students that really care about you, compared to the Overlook where the food is bland and way overpriced and greasy and the workers don't want to help you. : Also check out the Summit, it is an acting restaurant run by Chef Sean Kagy and his all student work staff in the kitchen and Donna and her all student wait staff. I would suggest going on Friday nights as they have had three courses plus wine pairings for around thirty dollars a person.

I called the bookstore on Monday to find out about the how and where on the parking situation. I was very happy to hear the parking garage is free! The garage is on #centralparkway at the intersection with #ludlowavenue. The employee on the phone was very helpful. I was told to park in the garage & go to level 5 for access to the walkway to the main building. Garage signs directed me to the stairs and elevators at the back of the structure. Upon exiting I crossed a campus roadway to enter the building. The building is attractive. It has high glass windows that let in a lot of good light. Upon entering there were stairs taking me up to the main level. It was here I encountered a friendly staff person. She gave me good additional directions and walked with me part of the way. The #bookstore signs lead me to the cafeteria and the #bookstore just beyond it. The cafeteria has plenty of seating with a wall of windows allowing for a pleasant view and plenty of outdoor light. Several students were using the area as place to study and read. Up ahead I entered the surprisingly small #folletbookstore. Basic school supplies are on the left across from the customer counter. There was one employee present who provided me with friendly service plus the short explanation of how the #bookstore was relocated when the #welcomecenter was remodeled. The #welcomecenter is the first thing you encounter when entering from the parking garage. This is a modern and welcoming campus. From what I have read it offers many fun & degree related courses at a reasonable price for the community. I don't see why people wouldn't stay for the second show for a mere $5 more! I do like that there is small stadium seating and higher top chairs in back so you're not staring at heads. My main problem was the lights went out on me 3 times in the bathroom. I walked in after someone, went to unzip, and suddenly darkness. I used my flash light on my phone to try finding a switch and tried pulling on a light string but that wasn't correct. It came back but still went off 2 more times in my should-have-been-a-minute-tinkle. Also, it would be cool if they served alcohol, even if limited, but I did like the prices of soft drinks. I feel like everyone overprices but they do not. Highly recommend for a cheap date night for laughter. Plus there's tons to do in the area before.

Lindner Varsity Village. The state-of-the-art facilities are very important to the future of Bearcat student-athletes, and the eight-story Lindner Center between Nippert Stadium and Fifth Third Arena even includes an academic center and study facilities. Now as big of a Bearcat fan that I am, I don't go to UC. My school has a larger athletic budget, but the facilities aren't nearly as new or nice, so anytime I step onto the UC campus and more importantly in the Varsity Village, I'm very pleased with what UC has done. The places I'm most likely to frequent are Fifth Third Arena, which added a new scoreboard and expanded strength-training equipment, and Nippert Stadium, which installed new turf, upgraded 8,000 seats, and created permanent seating in the north end zone and game-day locker rooms. While all that is great for the two biggest programs at UC, they've made tremendous updates elsewhere, including brand new venues. The swimming and tennis programs both had to travel off campus to practice, but each now has its own on-campus facility, which also allows for home meets and matches to be held. Ben & Dee Gettler Stadium is the completely renovated soccer and track complex, which seats 1,400 and has a press box too. In 2004, the baseball program got a boost with the new Marge Schott Stadium, while even the band has its own facility as well. There is even a five-story trophy case/hall of fame in the Lindner Center, the "hub" of Bearcat athletics, which also has offices, locker rooms, meeting spaces, and administrative services and support areas. I had the opportunity of touring some of these facilities as a senior in high school and they are each very nice. The $105 million project shows UC's commitment to its athletics (but also academics with the Lindner Center), and it has already paid off with the recent successes of many of its teams including, baseball, football, and men's soccer. Now I know that I didn't cover everything, but in general the facilities are great. They have already made an impact on recent student-athletes and will continue to do so and draw the best athletes to Cincinnati where they will strengthen the image of UC athletics and the University of Cincinnati in general.
