Overall I would say this place is pretty good for the price (£3 for eyebrows!).

Having achieved remarkable results & a quality of service to match, this clinic provides state of the art equipment combined with very experienced & knowledgeable staff to deliver really good results. Better results within a few visits than years of me running around to a scattering of beauty salons offering IPL treatments, some at better pricing too but they didn't have the depth & breadth of knowledge or understanding or quality of machines, but more importantly I am most impressed with the holistic approach of the clinic who take into account a multitude of factors not just procedural but your diet & lifestyle too, you can see this by even downloading an ebook for free that I did after my first treatment and it has really helped, I would recommend it, it has great dietary advice! http://www.pulselightclinic.co.uk/rosacea They are conveniently located within the City, right near Fenchurch Street Station, useful if you work in or around the City, I don't live or work nearby at all but the unique ability of this clinic to deliver tangible lasting results along with excellent service and friendly staff ensures that I keep coming back and don't mind the travel involved, well worth it! I would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for treatment on any of the host of conditions they offer medical pulse light treatments for, it certainly worked for my redness & Rosacea! Notwithstanding the above you also have the back-up of a highly trained & friendly team who really seem keen to monitor my progress. I hope this review helps, I would recommend a consultation if you are considering treatment!!!

The Bethnal Green Road surprisingly has several beauty shops - but Emma for beauty has the nicest…read moreof service and most affordable prices . The owner has not had the salon for long and she often is in the salons herself giving treatments. I first noticed the salon when it arrived because of its strange 3-D pebble flooring ( spa detailing I suppose!) and its huge snowball chandelier in the reception -very strange on Bethnal Green Road!! However I never thought to venture in. It was only recently that I was in need of a little TLC and this place was recommended. I fast found that many of my friends were choosing here and were in fact regular customers. They offer full nail bar which is more pricey -and have a nice selection of colours also to buy -However selling only very high end and very, very expensive varnishs . If its a waxing or tinting treatments you are looking for ,though this place is very affordable. Considering this is "looking good" pampering rather than "health" pampering - leg waxings cost as little as £14.00 and eyebrow tintings £6.00 -I got so carried away that I actually even did my eyelashes which frankly was a bit pointless since you need some decent lashes to begin with -- They offer full body massages and scrubs which is justifiably "health pampering " however at prices of in the region of £95.00 - my wallet at present does not include "wealth pampering " - for now at least ......

This is certainly what I call customer service! Plus the cheapest bikini waxes in town, change from a tenner for a regular although a Brazilian may be more expensive. No St. Tropez booth here though for an all over fake tan, try Roman Road instead for a human once over head to foot, or the Tanning Shop in a Liverpool Street for a robotic hose down. This is a big corporate operation, I'm not a fan. I wrote in based on my experienced and received a very thoughtful reply (yet zero offer of compensation - I spent upwards of £300 -- or to make it better), thus 2 stars instead of 1. Transcript below. -- Hi, Dr Halfhide's bedside manner is abrupt. He made several comments generalizing Americans, of which I am one. I found this unprofessional and frankly, annoying. If I'm paying £150 for an appointment lasting 15 minutes, I don't expect to be insulted in the process. Besides that, I was booked in for a nurse consultation that felt more like a pitch for products, then had to rebook in for the next day to come see a doctor. That initial consultation could've easily taken place over the phone, she didn't even LOOK at my skin! It lasted about 3 minutes. I had to rearrange my work schedule 2 days consecutively and the entire process felt like I was being manipulated. Also, I was sold products I cannot use now that the doctor prescribed Differin (adapalene). These were pitched to me on the "consultation." Expensive products that I no longer can use that felt forced on me so someone could earn a commission. There was zero coordination between the doctor and consultant. Very odd. I was not pleased with my experience at Sk:n. I'm not sure if this is always how business is done, but I certainly feel I was treated unfairly and inappropriately, not to mention that there didn't seem to be a lot of cohesiveness to the treatment plans between the nurse and the doctor. Colleen -- Response from Sk:n via email -- Hi Colleen, Thank you very much for getting back to me. Firstly I would like to apologise for your experience with Sk:n. I am very disappointed to hear about your consultation with Dr Halfhide, noone has complained about his bedside manner before and this is feedback that he would definitely want to know. We do take customer care very seriously so I am sincerely sorry for his comments. In regards to the nurse consultation, she did write notes in your file as to why you were booked with the Doctor so I am sorry she did not communicate this effectively to yourself. There are several types of acne and she is an acne specialist, we can usually tell pretty quickly what type of acne a client has and whether or not this is something we can treat or if a client needs antibiotics, it isn't something you can diagnose over the phone unfortunately. I apologise you felt like it was 'a pitch' for products for commission purposes, however, our practitioners, nurses and doctors do not earn commission on any of our products or treatments. It is not like a spa or beauty salon, it is a medical clinic so this doesn't apply to our clinics. I have spoken to the doctor and nurse in regards to the products and the antibiotics, and you cannot use the products in conjunction with the antibiotics but as soon as you have finished these you can go straight onto the products to prolong the affects of the prescription that the doctor administered. This is why they were offered at the time. Once again, I really do apologise that the whole experience has seemed rushed and a push for sales with inappropriate bedside manner from the doctor. I will raise this with the staff in question, this is not how we wish to portray our company nor treat our clients who we do value. We really do appreciate your feedback so thank you for taking the time to respond.

Hey, when you're in The City, you need things done FAST. When me and my colleague noticed the sign for Urbanbeach down the road from our office advertising express pedicures, we jumped at the chance to pamper ourselves on our lunch break. First of all, this is not your typical nail salon. Mostly because there are no pedicure seats and only one manicure station. We got our pedicures in separate rooms that looked more suited for a wax or a facial. Yes, we had to sit on those movable lounger seats. The usual polite chitchat went on while my beautician filed and polished away (apart from a quick lotion application, that was IT). Probably 20 minutes total. But then we were both told to wait in the reception for our nails to dry for at least 20 minutes. ANOTHER 20 MINUTES?? Nothing express about that! There were no nail dryers, no fun flip flops to wear on the journey home. From my vantage point, Urbanbeach seemed to have an upscale client base... what gives? My beautician came back to check on me after 20 minutes by FURIOUSLY rubbing her thumb into my big toenail, which clearly smudged the polish. I maintain that it was probably dry enough to go, but she just ruined it with her thumbrape of my toe. So, she got down on hands and knees, ON THE FLOOR OF THE RECEPTION, wiped the polish off and started again. Luckily, my friend was sitting next to me, so that I could sigh and roll my eyes with her. Otherwise, all that frustration would have come out in a much less dignified (read: british) way. Unhygenic and completely avoidable! If we didn't have to get back to work, I might have stayed sitting there, reading trashy mags and enjoying my (sort of) pampering. Instead, I had to slip and slide the short walk back to the office in what can only be described as packing foam sandals. I am still wearing them as I type this. Oh yeah, and it cost me £26. Needless to say, I won't be returning.
