I have had 8 treatments. I was told that 6 treatments would be enough
initially. I was told that I was the 'perfect candidate' skin and hair
colour wise. They now tell me it should be 12 treatments. I wish I saw
your review before as I signed up around the time you put this review. I
am also wondering whether Trading Standards are willing to investigate
as I do not believe the way they operate to be fair. I just wrote my
experience (not a complaint) on the Facebook Sk:n Page for others to see
and make a decision. It is right that they know the truth as I wish I
had before. Now I know why there are no negative or barely any reviews
on the Sk:n Page on Facebook They delete them for marketing purposes.
This has led me to search for other sites that allow people to place a
review, fairly, honestly, and rightly so.
In areas, I see no
difference to prior the treatment, and in some areas, it is
worser/darker/more obvious. Luckily, I knew what private companies that
operate in these sectors are like and I recorded my initial consultation
of what was discussed. (Removal and reduction with only 1 or 2 hairs
appearing, 6 sessions is enough, barely hurts, perfect candidate etc.)
However, if more people came forward about their experience and
satisfaction, then yes, I would gladly share mine also.
I stated on
their Facebook Page that they should rename it Laser Hair Treatment
rather than Laser Hair Removal. This is because there is no guarantee
whether hair will be reduced, removed or even worser regrowth. The name
is misleading in itself. By calling it Laser Hair Treatment, customers
are able to know that there is no guarantee.
What I dislike about the
company isn't so much about the result. I can happily live with that
and not go for Laser Hair Removal again. I dislike the fact that they do
not take accountability or responsibility for failing to meet customer
service and initial promises. To ignore, not follow-up, delete/disregard
customer concerns from the treatment is wrong in my opinion One trait
in business is to never 'rip the customer off'. It is morally wrong and
harmful to one's emotional, mental, financial and social well-being.
When
I raised my concern during my treatment, I was responded with, 'I don't
know what to say. There's nothing that can be done'. If a business
cannot deliver or fulfil what they have agreed to supply, then I believe
that a business should refund the customer or rectify the error.
Another
problem is the statement that Laser Hair Removal does not hurt and feels
like an elastic-band flicking. In my case, at times, it was
excruitiating particularly on areas of coarser hair with the pain
feeling alike to a scalpel being stuck and dragged inside of me. I
gritted my teeth so much during the treatment that I ended up damages
needing dental work.
Lastly, they do not test patch clients on laser
energy strengths 'up until the point' that there is not reaction/burn,
and then use this strongest strength throughout ALL of the treatment
sessions. (Google exponential curve) They begin on the lowest laser
which is unnecessary and avoidable so that it is less effective to begin
with, thereby leading the client to requiring more treatments. In my
case, I could have had test patches of up to 3-4 laser energy strengths
before beginning the treatment as this strength did not cause
reactions/burns. I wonder why they do not do this and their explanation
for it.
At times, the Sk:n clinic were unprofessional. They rearranged my
appointments without consulting me first. This led to disruption in the
treatment causing the result to be less effective. Imagine being booked
in at regular 6 weekly intervals, only to have an unprofessional
therapist or nurse rearrange this to their own suitability behind your
behind causing your treatments to be 7 or 8 weeks apart. This behaviour
is not acceptable as disruption to the regular 6 weekly intervals
lessens the effect as the hair follicles are not hit regularly to stop
the growth.
Additionally, the unprofessionalism is harmful to one's
emotional, mental, financial and social well-being when they begin to
doubt and not trust the clinic for such behaviour.
The clinic manager
mentioned to me that therapists and nurses are not allowed to rearrange
people's appointments without consulting them like that Too late, as
the damages were already done. I wonder why these people conduct in such
behaviour in the first place when it harms another person. It is
unprofessional and in a clinical environment, extremely unacceptable
when clients are undergoing treatment requiring trust, honesty,
integrity and care for one's vulnerability.
During my treatment, I realised that they had not wiped the stretcher
bed or cleaned it from other patients as it was covered in hair that was
removed from other patients Very unpleasant to lie there in someone
else's removed hair. Although they pull tissue from the roll to read more
