Haven't been here in awhile. As soon as I walked in I could tell that the restaurant was under new ownership by how empty the restaurant was. I asked and was told it was taken over in August 2022. I still gave it a chance and was unhappy with the service. They charged 18% gratuity for a party of 5 when nobody else was in the restaurant. How do you charge for a party of 5 when there are 5 members in my family? I am fine leaving a good tip when a good tip is earned! But, when you think you deserve an 18% tip for standing behind the register on your phone and never doing anything to earn it is when I have a problem. I for sure will not be back. I never do in restaurant dining here and this experience reminded me why. I took my aunt for lunch, we were the only customers in the restaurant when we got there. The first issue was that their menu says they serve poke but when we asked about it the waitress said we would have to go to across the street. I don't know why they would put it on the menu if you cannot order it. There were two waitresses who most of the time we were there were just sitting and looking at their phones. We had to flag them down to refill a drink because they didn't check in at all. When my roll came out it didn't look like any other time I've ordered it. There were globs of sauce covering it I suspect to cover that they skimped on the fish that went on top. They brought out the food for two members of the party and then 20 minutes later the third person just canceled his roll because they never brought it out and everyone else was almost done. We have ordered to go several times and it was good but the in restaurant experience is severely lacking. read more

My first time coming here, I came in and ordered to go. The girl in the front was really nice so thats what the 1 star is for but for the food.. I give it no stars. I don't know if they just don't know what they are doing but the rolls are a sad excuse of what real sushi should be. I now understand why they have happy hour at 50% off.... because they need to get rid of shit or maybe their sales are low. Worst experience, we came in for sushi in the evening, took a while to even to place an order, which is understanding during busy times. We ordered a large sake twice, about 30 minutes went by and noticed the waitress give a bottle of sake to a table next to us and I over heard the guest say we didn't order this. The waitress walked away, so another half hour goes by and still waiting on food. It appears our food is ready and the same waitress picks up the dishes and delivers them to another couple to the opposite side of us. What a waste of time, their service is to be so great. Fresh great sushi in the high desert! Good quality of ingredients and quick service. Great place to come for lunch (many lunch specials), daily happy hour (3-6 half price sushi), and dinner (many dinner specials as well). The owner said something about starting a karaoke night. Went to Laughlin for the weekend and to tell you the truth it was pretty boring. I will tell you something though the people there were just friendlier. I am from Cali so it shouldn't surprise you lol. Anyways I decided to stop for some sushi on my way back to LA and I was craving some sushi! I read the reviews and I stopped at Ninja sushi to give it a try. Staff was super friendly and prices were great also. Fresh fish and great rolls selection. FINALLY an All You Can Eat (AYCE) sushi place with great service, great ambiance, and the people who work and cook here seem like they ACTUALLY like their job. Thank you Ninja Sushi for being my favorite AYCE sushi place in the High Desert. First, great sushi variety. Second, bless the skill of the sushi chef who walked around the counter to our table to introduce me to their garlic sauce and the mustard sauce. Dip your raw sushi in either delightful sauce and you got yourself a treat! Third, thank you lovely waitresses for keeping my water full and just being you. I always enjoyed coming here, but based on my previous experience at other AYCE sushi places, I am glad Ninja treats all customers alike. At the other venue I felt that we were singled out because we order AYCE, but here, we were treated like any other customer. We stayed for about 2hrs, but we stuffed ourselves full and it did not feel like the waiting game. It helped that the waitresses spoke to us and checked on us, the sushi chef came out from behind the bar to introduce sauces, Oh, and yeah, we were given our sushi in a nice timely manner. They did not abandon dish after dish, it almost seemed like they knew when were done with one dish we can move on to another. Keep up the great work! read more

The problem at this establishment is that they are very unprofessional and rude,, not to mention unorganized. They got our check mixed up with the table next to us.. Been going here for years, must have changed ownership. They were famous for their half price sushi, dollar sake and customer service. Rolls are full price, only canned soda and a small sucky is $8. Thought I would try this place because I read there is a new owner. I never really cared for this place before. Nothing special today for me. I just finished having lunch here. The menu for some reason (to me) seemed hard to navigate....Seems Prices Already adjusted for the recent inflation. I ordered a Sushi special $19.95 (6 pieces of sushi,..chefs choice...California or spicy tuna roll). I went with the spicy tuna roll. For the six pieces of sushi I received one shrimp, one salmon, one tuna, one Escobar a.k.a. as butterfish, one albacore and one mackerel. I also ordered One order of muscles $8.50 and one salmon skin hand roll $8, also 1 Nigori sake $14. ....Service was good. I was the only one here :-).... I was very disappointed though when I order two hand rolls to go....a salmon and a mackerel. The owner Said no to the mackerel Hand Roll .(But that I could order it as Sushi.) Anyways I just told him forget the to go order. Surprised me the new owner (lack of personality today) wasn't willing to make a mackerel hand roll. Price wasn't even mentioned and the place was empty?? Good luck in the future. Fish was fresh, taste was good. Spicy tuna roll was large. I want to start off by saying the staff here was amazing! Everyone was very friendly and attentive. They where very nice to my one year old and made sure she had something she could eat. It was hot out and they had misters up to make it more comfortable. Other places could learn from them. Thank you for a wonderful experience. I'll keep it short and sweet. Used to go here a lot. Food: used to be average to good, now average to below average. Cost: used to be cheap, now not so much. Service: remained consistent over the years in the sense that it's not consistent. One day great, prompt, and helpful service and the next you're waiting for 30 minutes for a check after both you and the sushi chef have asked multiple waitresses to bring the check 5 times. Nestled between a nail salon and a flooring company, is this gem. Their food is delicious! The Sunburst roll is so mouth watering ( props to the chef who created it) and they have the best garlic edemame I've ever had! The food was good but the service was horrible. There were 3 servers just standing around talking to the guys behind the bar. Never once checked on us. My son had to approach them to get some boxes and ask for the check. When it came time to pay my bill, I signed and was digging through my purse trying to find my cash for a tip when one of the servers came up to me and asked for the signed copy. It was really awkward and rude. Did she think I was trying to keep the copy on purpose? So I had to hand it to her with the cash tip. Very unprofessional on her part. This used to be my favorite sushi place until today. I sat at the bar as I always do, first thing I notice Is one of the " cooks" doesnt have gloves on like all the other ones do. Whatever right maybe hes changing them or something but no.. he MADE ALL our rolls NOT ONCE WASHING HIS HANDS! He was just using a yellow Costco microfiber towel to wipe the cutting board and then wipe his hands with the SAME towel. I watched his touch his shirt on place his hands around his waist multiple time and not once washing his hands. I was completely disgusted.. now into the sushi its self.. they've been better here. The roll was falling apart on the plate. And the popcorn calamari roll tasted like it was cooked in old oil.. I'm so disappointed that this place has gone down hill. Servers are horrible during the afternoon. Second time I have been there with my family and experienced horrible service from waitresses. I had to walk up to the sushi bar after waiting 20 min just to get things that the servers failed to bring us. Servers do not ask if you need anything or even acknowledge you are there unless you sit right next to the cash register.
