First of all, I'm only giving one star because it is required. I was a frequent customer here for 6 to 7 years....I would go at least once a month. I never had any issues, and let's be honest, I was looking for a cheaper place to get my nails done considering I was a student. Anyways, I talked my father into getting a pedicure, he got hooked, & also became a frequent customer. My fathers girlfriend also started going to Nina's. Okay so let's talk about my experience first.... Like I said I was a frequent customer, however sometimes when I would get my nails done, they would use this drill to file my nails, I would often get cuts on my cuticles because of this. One time I was cut badly to the point where I was bleeding, the person doing my nails took a cotton ball and patted it and acted like nothing happened. After my services was complete I went home only to notice around 6pm my finger was sore and red & around 8pm there started to look like a puss pocket forming, along with red, hot, throbbing skin around it. It hurt to touch. I decided to go to the after hours clinic around 8:30 after FaceTiming my mother, and her telling me I needed to get checked out (she was an RN, now retired from nursing) so I go to the after hours clinic (they were open until 9) it was about 8:30 when I arrived, I waited for about 20 minutes. Finally when the doctor saw me he verified that it was an infection. He told me since the pharmacy was closed for the night to go home and put neosporin on it with a band aid & schedule an appointment with my normal doctor the following day...which I did. After meeting with my regular physician, I was told because the infection seemed to be healing to keep doing what I was doing and if there was still irritation in a day or so to return. Luckily my infection cleared up with over the counter medicine (neosporin). Now for my fathers experience... Like I said before, my father enjoyed his pedicure from Nina's. He too became a frequent customer, after receiving a pedicure here, he too got an infection (keep in mind we did not go at the same time, roughly 2 weeks apart). However, his infection was much worse. The sole of his foot was swollen, he was in visible pain. He went to the emergency room where they had to drain the puss pockets, give him shots in the sole of his foot & prescribe medication. Luckily, with in a few weeks his foot was back to normal. I made the situation aware on Facebook, I got told I was a liar by the owners, that in the 25 years of her nail shop being open, no one has gotten an infection (reviews on google say otherwise). I was also asked why did I not go to Nina's first before any one else...maybe they think they are doctors too? However, considering they gave me the infection I did not want to go back there. So now, here I am, being called a liar by the OWNER. But I have watched them use tools on people over and over without sterilization in between uses. If you want an infection come here! I now highly recommend clou nail boutique in Prairieville to anyone looking for good, CLEAN & FRIENDLY service. read more

First off I want to say everyone that's giving this trash place 5 stars are lying their asses off ! I went there maybe 3 weeks ago I walk in and I see they are busy , okay that's fine no problem the first thing I hear when I walk in is WHAT DO U WANT ?! ! So I was shocked but said my nails done and she say go sit down there. I go sit down for like maybe 40 minutes and I wouldn't have a issue w that if it wasn't 2 people just walking around talking in their language. Finally a old lady come over and sit to do my nails she done speak or anything no kind of customer service and she snatched my hand and said this the color u want ?! I say yeah she starts doing my nails and we get ti the length part and she say how long u want them ? I say well can u just start cutting so I can see what will work for me ? She rolls her eyes and they start talking shit in they language so I pull up my translator and they all of a sudden get quiet now my mood isn't good so she starts filling my nails super hard and I'm looking at the way she filing and it's looking uneven and my nails were super bulky and I ask her why do they look like that ? She gets a attitude and get up and a dude all of a sudden come sit down , so now I'm mad because she didn't say anything just got up and left and I say you know what nvm I'm just ready to go I just want them off then Nina come out asking what's the problem ! I tell her the issue w the lady the issue with the way she being aggressive w my nails and hands and the issue with her not even communicating with me and atp I just want to go Nina says FINE OKAY THEN U GO do THEM YOURSELF ! I don't have to do shxt myself BABYYYY THAT RAN ME HOT I SAY IM GOING SOMEWHERE ELSE CAUSE MY MONEY SPEND WHERE EVER I GO ! Now the owner is trying to argue with me and I feel myself going in a rage So in that moment I decided let me get tf out of here because I don't want to look like the angry black Woman and I didn't wanna beat they ass so I paid them for that botched shxt to let em know they missed out on s good money train I'm expensive and i like what I like and will pay whatever. $45 for nails that are uneven. The guy rushed through. Said I had been there 45 minutes, which is true however, that 45 minutes was split between me and another lady getting hers done. The acrylic is visibly uneven and bumpy, they are thick, and you can still see through the THREE layers of polish. He burnt the tip of one of my fingers in his rush with the drill. I'm almost in tears I'm so pissed about this. On top of that I asked for coffin shape and he cut them to short to do it but wouldn't fix it. Can anyone recommend a good nail salon in Baton Rouge?! I'm tired of having to drive to Texas for good quality! It's unfair to have someone argue with you when you're pointing out the poor quality of their work when you're paying for a service. Especially when paying that kind of money for a service that should be equivalent to the price. I'm out $45 with nails that will only cost more to get fixed. read more

Very unfortunate to have to post. I kept hearing good things about this place so I decided to go. When u walk in, they ask you want you want then says wash your hands. No please, no hello, nothing. Husband did good job on my nails but when I tugged slightly as he was filing to hard it made him continue to file that area. When my nails were done, I got a pedicure and he was rude. Immediately turned on the massage chair. I looked all around for the remote and didnt see it to turn off. When I asked him where is the remote, he got up from the other chair, walked over to me found the remote and slammed it by my arm. He and his wife started arguing in their language. Very rude and I will not return or recommend ever!!! Rushed on my feet bc he was mad!! I left a good tip in hopes his conscience will EAT HIM ALIVE!! I don't pay for rudeness. I walked in around 2:30 on a weekday. It's close by my house so I figured I'd go for my eyebrow wax. The lady with the long hair was the only one there...sitting on her phone with her two dogs. She was sooo rude. She said she'd do it for me but not next time that it's appointment only. The signs on the door were old and peeling so how would I know. To whom it may concern, I never leave reviews but I had my nails done yesterday around 4 pm . The customer service was 3/10 they are not welcoming at all. This is not a luxury nail salon, so I did not expect the best customer service. I also did not really care for my shape the lady did but still I overlooked it all because I just wanted my nails done. Now while getting ready for work this morning one of my nails broke , to say that you all ensure quality work is false advertising. Bad customer service is one thing, but for the prices that people pay! That I paid I would expect my nail not to break the next day. I should have read the reviews before coming instead of looking at the 4 stars. I do not recommend this place unless you have no other choice. Came out to work here in town I thought Nina would be my go to person for my eyebrows and nails while staying here for 2months only to be dissatisfied and disappointed I get off at 7am got there for 9 on the dot only to have the Lil young girl Mai half do my refill she did not polish my sides or file them and then got an attitude and snatched pedicure sponges off my toes because I complained then took action to fb to speak about me and my complaint well Nina the owner comes out as well as the manager and Nina says oh no nobody's gonna see the sides of your nails um no ma'am thats not the point do them how u were taught reason that you have a license,so then the manager some guy says let Mai the nail tech say whatever she wants on social media excuse me sir this is how u run your business?Nina stated that when you use regular polish it looks like that but Nina I was using polish before I switched over to the mod about you powder by O.P.I. And she stated she's been doing nails for 26 years well who taught and told u this was the correct way to polish a nail?Nina took of my polish repainted them and they look no better,she left me in front of the fans as well as all the white residue in my skin she never even bothered to come back to check to seer my nails were dry,I just got up paid and left.Guess if your not a regular or from this town they treat u any kinda way and do what they want. read more

This is a review for the one down hwy. 44. It's horrible they only have 2 women working and I went in on a Friday so you can expect a lot of people. I arrived at 1:30 they did not finish till after 4. It's ridiculous and I seen many people come in and wait and then leave. Will never come back to the one down hwy. 44. I decided to go to the one by Hwy. 30 because my sister had recommended me Nina. Well I went and Nina wasn't there, but as soon as I walked it I just got a bad feeling they were rude didn't even greet me just asked what I needed done and to sit down. Some nail salons actually engage in small talk with their customers but not them they say there speaking there own language with mad looks on their face as if they were unhappy to be working that day. Well I got a pedicure and decided to just polish my nails as well I ended up paying 38$ and it wasn't for gel and when I asked the lady how much to polish my nails she said 7$ so I ended up paying 31$ just for a pedicure & on top of that my pedicure wasn't done correctly. The next day my fingernail polish was chipping and peeling off and my feet had dead skin popping out by my pinky toe and it felt rough on the side of my feet. Im never going back it was horrible customer service as well as quality of service. Was very disappointed and wanted to share my experience with others. And as well if your trying to get something done quick this is not the place to go they take forever and they have people sit down in chairs even if their not ready to work on them.
