I have had 15+ fillings in my life from other dentists, all of which I have felt pain regardless of the use of numbing agents, and today with Dr. Nina I received 2 fillings both of which were COMPLETELY PAIN FREE. She has, in one appointment, completely eradicated my lifelong fear and anxiety surrounding dentists. Recent update as of 01/11/2022** This provider failed to provide the proper documentation to my insurance company and after calling to try and figure this all out to begin with Kailey (or Hailey I'm not sure) threatened me and hung up on me. Any time I tried to call and get more information they ignored my calls unless my husband called from his phone. Nina called me personaly & claimed that she told the collection agency it was an accident that it was sent in and should NOT had been in the first place. Do not come here they just take advantage of military families. I am in the process of having this removed from my credit report and I have filed a grievance form with my insurance company to prevent them from doing this to other families because this isn't the first time this has happened unfortunately. read more

Just moved here, so went in for routine cleaning. Left with twelve thousand dollar plan for months and months of procedures including eight crowns. Sought second opinion from former dentist, who said I don't need any crowns and the work that I did need could be done in one visit, at a cost two thirds less. Buyer beware. read more

I had the pleasure of being Jordan and Dr. Basti's patient earlier this week. Both were remarkably kind and thorough. The office maintains a culture of transparency. They make sure you understand their dental jargon and everyone is upfront about cost of services and whether a procedure is truly necessary. So glad they accept my insurance. Will be a long-term patient here. I was also very happy with the precautions they took during the COVID-19 pandemic. The waiting room was empty. They also have extra air filters in the exam rooms, utilize PPE, and were conscious about not touching computer keyboard or mouse with the same gloves that went into my mouth. I went here for a cleaning and general checkup earlier this year. While the hygienist did a great job and the staff was very friendly, I felt like some high pressure tactics were going on. Despite having always had excellent oral hygiene, after x-rays and an exam by Dr. Basti I was informed I needed deep cleaning on two sides of my mouth. I got the impression that they wanted to do it right away and they would have if I hadn't spoken up. I resisted and asked for a quote first, and it was going to be $600. I then asked that the normal cleaning just be finished and I would decide later. The whole thing felt like they were making a really big deal about something I wasn't so sure about, and of course most people are not going to just shell out another $600 on the spot without a second opinion. I was kept waiting a really long time as well, while they got me the quote and then got me back in the cleaning chair to finish. I later went for a second opinion at two other doctors, and ended up with a deep cleaning on only one quarter of my mouth. Both the dentist and a periodontist I saw at other places evaluated my teeth as well and I think the whole diagnosis was overblown. I understand maybe they err on the side of caution, but also to their billing advantage. I will not be going back to this Dentist. read more

Awesome place!! Very clean, nice colors, smells great, comfy chairs, and have coffee in the waiting area. First time ever going, got seen within 10 Min of arriving. Super friendly staff! amazing dental hygienist who cleaned my teeth better than more thorough than anyone I had ever gone to before. Literally was being cleaned for about an hour, teeth feel awesome. Omg, I love this office. The receptionist is such a sweetheart and the dentist is the best all the staff are hands down the best they truly make you feel safe and well taken care of. I had my teeth cleaning on this office and wow game changer I was very happy with the results. Not to mentioned that I got a cavity and I was having really bad pain and medication was called in for me to help me ease the pain. Then the next day they checked up on me to see how I was doing making me feel so happy that I found this office they truly made me love the dentist. I am writing this review as an observer, and I've thought about writing this review a couple of times, as I dont write many reviews over difficult experiences, I live, learn, and move on. My girlfriend had a crown done here a month ago. I will stick to the facts in this account, it may have been an off day, not sure, but here's the review. The office was busy, receptionist was pleasant, and everything seemed to be going well. I sat in on this procedure, as I did at the initial root canal (performed at a different office). My girlfriend told the dentist and staff, she was sensitive, both to needles, and tooth pain in general, everyone agreed to go slow, and check in along the way. Office got busy, dentist and assistants had multiple patients, and were clearly distracted, and a little overwhelmed at times. Here's where things went South....the procedure started to get hurried and it looked more like a mechanic changing spark plugs than a sensitive crown procedure. My girlfriend took as much of the pulling and picking as she could (there were small cuts on her gums), trying to get through it, and as someone who witnessed it, I agree it wasn't smooth, looked rushed, and painful. After the procedure, my girlfriend was in tears due to the pain, and overall experience. The room we were in, had ants crawling on the desktop next to where I sat, and next to dental instruments....all in all, it was not a pleasant experience, it was not a professional experience, and I'm sure there have been many who've had good experiences here, but my girlfriend's was not one of them. She later called to discuss the experience with the dentist, she offered to credit her half the amount, and apologized. However, no credit was applied, why?, because my girlfriend had posted a negative Yelp review. The receptionist later sent an email that stated "if you pull the review, we'll refund the money", are you kidding me????? Btw, I have the original email, to prove this...... Here's the thing, its a service business at the end of the day. Yes dentistry is a little difficult due to different pain thresholds, but that's the job. When someone tells you there sensitive, believe them. When someone starts crying, or squirming in the chair, check in. If you and the assistants, are overwhelmed by a mouth in ever chair, take a few less patients. If there's an ant problem, handle it; it happens. Don't EVER silence someone for being critical of a bad experience, take it, constructively, evaluate, and make changes for the better. I was at this procedure, I witnessed this, and the root canal she had, was far less painful. I can not, and will not, recommend this dentist. I'm sure they're capable, I'm sure others were/are happy, but it's the way they handled it, when things didn't go well, and they weren't on point. read more

There are so many options for dentists, and I basically picked this office at random, but I am glad I did. Great staff, great dentist, great office. Everyone is so very nice and explains exactly what they are doing to you and why. I learned a lot here. I had not been to the dentist in a long time, so they were very accommodating to my slight anxiety about getting cavities filled. If they were good with me a 20 something, they'd probably do even better with little kids. read more

Nina and her staff are the absolute BEST. Efficient, skilled, kind, warm environment. Makes crowns in the office while you are there. Moving here from another state a few years ago I looked for a dentist... came to Nina first... I don't trust dentists these days as they upsell, so not knowing the difference, I went to 3 other dentists for consults and exams. All of them tried to upsell me and one offered a "discount" and still wanted $4500 just to treat my gums. I stuck with Nina, Did a deep cleaning cleared it all up, lots of crowns since as well as other work. Always honest, reasonable, kind, accommodating, professional, and staff is great as well. I love Nina. She is very kind and really cares about you and is overall just an extremely gifted dentist and pleasant person! Her staff are as well! I have had 2 cleanings here and 2 crowns. I believe she's as gentle and slow (if you need it) as possible for a crown process. (I mean you are getting a crown and sometimes as an adult you just have to "buck up" and deal with what you have to deal with.) her crows are just beautiful! And they are able to be X-ray through to see what's going on inside your tooth after! My other crown was not like that, so glad Nina replaced it! My children have all gone here as well for cleanings and one got an expander with Nina and she was always so nice and encouraging to my child and now she has a better smile for Nina's work! I love this place! I had to go in because my wisdom tooth got too painful to even bare and Nina and her staff took care of it! Got me in within 2 days, at my examination appointment she took one look and next thing you know she was taking my tooth out. I needed to change dentists so I looked up Dr. Nina on Yelp. The reviews were much higher than the dentist I have been seeing for over 10 years, and she was located in the heart of old San Clemente on Del Mar Ave. From the moment I walked in it was like a breath of fresh air. Everyone was so polite, welcoming, and personable. I had a broken molar and I knew I would need a crown.
