It's been a while since I've written a review and I feel compelled to do so for Nikokids. My youngest son has been attending Nikolai's class since 5 months old! He is turning 4 in a couple of months and we absolutely adore Nikolai. My son loves his class, naturally gravitates toward him even at a young age. His classes are interactive to both children and caregivers. His philosophy on including adults to join in the singing/dancing with the children during class time is on point with how I feel. The songs/activities are very age and developmentally appropriate to help with speech. It's been a tough year and a half for everyone and Nikolai did everything he could (on line classes, and outdoors classes) to keep things going. While it's not always easy, he always give out a positive vibe in his emails and through his interactions with the children. We wish him the very best! *heart read more

Lovely space for kids and caretakers. First and street level so perfect for strollers and little people. There are two main rooms inside and spacious enough for a class about 10-15. I tried a demo class with Steven and he was great! Very engaging and charismatic. The space has great big windows that let in a lot of light and has a lot of musical toys and instruments for kids of all ages to participate with. There's drums, bongos, etc! read more

My daughter has been attending Music Together at the 1st Street location since she was 2 months old - now she is 18 months. She absolutely love the songs, which change from semester to semester and so do we. Love the inclusion of folk songs from many different cultures. The space is great because its clean and simple - no distractions, nothing dangerous...just a room, some music and a bunch of kids and caregivers. Although not too many...I really do appreciate that it never feels crowded. Nikolai is super responsive and easy to catch on email. Registration and makeup classes have been easy to schedule. read more

My daughter loves Music Together! Every time we walk near the 1st Street location my LO sings "Hello, hello" (her version of the Hello Song) and cannot wait to go to her class on Tuesday mornings. All of the teachers are fun, warm, and create a safe and cheerful environment. The children are encourage to sing, dance, have fun, and be themselves. My daughter has learned so much from her classes and has made several friends. Nikolai and his team are very responsive to any emails, and registration and scheduling make ups are very easy. read more

we've done 4 semesters of music together here and absolutely love it! we started when our son was 9 months old and now he is 3 and still enjoying it. all of the teachers are great, but owner Nikolai is so wonderful with the kids and it's a joy to take part in his classes each week. our son loves playing with the egg shakers, bells, scarves, and instruments each class. we also had his birthday party there recently and it was a blast. we are working parents so we really appreciate the weekend class schedule. if you're thinking about enrolling your kid here, go for it! read more

We've been going to NikosKids and Music Together for a while for both of our kids. Good space, clean, spacious and the teachers are very good and all know how to play an instrument or can sing. It's completely different than going to a gymboree where the teachers are not trained and can't really sign and has to play music from their iPhones. My kids love going to class. My 5 year old still asks about going to class with his little brother. I hope they come out with more programs for older kids. read more

Our son, almost one year, has gone to two Sunday morning classes with Dan and we love it! He likes playing with the instruments, responds to the music, and is learning about being with other children. The 1st street space is inviting and cozy. I recently took my daughter to a birthday party and saw that she was the first to engage in the music and dancing, and I credit a lot of that to this music class. My daughter is naturally shy and reserved, but the music class has really helped her open up more. They have different "courses" of music, so that you can take multiple semesters and it doesn't get old. You can play the CD at home so that the parent and caretaker can learn the music, and be more engaged during the classes also. A lot of people I know in the neighborhood send their kids to NikosKids and know they've all been very happy with the classes and teachers. read more

NikosKids have been an absolute joy for our family. At first, I started taking my baby to a mixed age class when she was just 7 weeks olds during my parental leave. It turned out to be a great learning experience for her and for me! Not only did I learned new ways to engage with my newborn with music theory that Melissa often shares in class, I also learned lullabies to help with bedtime routines. Now, in our 4th semester of class, NikosKids has turned into a fun weekend experience for baby, mama and papa! I've seen my baby grow and develop in ways that I definitely attribute to our experience with music together. I highly recommend this class. read more

We love Music Together so much! This was almost the first place I took my daughter when I finally had it together enough to leave the house at (more or less) the same time once a week. The atmosphere is so warm and supportive, fostering cooperation and turn-taking, but also self-expression. You see the kids just blossom and feel joy. I was so sad when we went to our last class together before I went back to work, I almost cried. But my daughter continues to go with her caregiver, and loves it. It will be such a special thing to share with your little, or for her to experience with another adult. My husband and I have been to both locations and had several teachers, and while we especially love Nikolai, we can also say with confidence that you are in good hands with his other teachers. My 1 year old daughter goes to Niko's music together class and I only wish that I had such a class when I was her age! She gets so much from it, even at this early age: social interactions, using different musical instruments, singing along, dancing along. They even give you the focus areas, songs, etc for the semester so that you can reinforce their lessons at home. In a class, they know to change up the activity very frequently, so to keep the attention span of little ones. The space is also great--large, safe, kid friendly. This is the only class my daughter goes to regularly right now, and I think it's perfect for her development and for just plain fun too! read more

My son has been going to Music Together for six semesters and he's loved every class. He's had Steven for 4 semesters and Niko for the last 2. The teachers develop a robust curriculum engaging many different types of instruments and musical sounds. What I especially appreciate is introducing music from all cultural backgrounds to present a wide range of sounds that my kid would not otherwise hear at a typical sing-along. Keeping the class size relatively small ~10-12 students also makes for an intimate and interactive learning environment. I highly recommend, especially for toddlers. I also appreciate their make-up policy and organized calendar complete with school breaks and holidays. read more

Our son is absolutely in love with Music Together with Niko's Kids! We attend Sunday classes at the 1st street Music Together Center and every Sunday morning he lets out a huge gasp in excitement that we are there again. Since starting the class, he has become increasingly confident and has had a space to not only increase his love of music but to also practice skills like waiting his turn, sharing and cleaning up. At home now he holds his own music classes, grabbing a toy guitar we bought him and instructing us to sing. The Hello Everybody App and CDs that are included are great tools for home and certainly make long car rides more fun. We are able to practice the songs and choreography with him at night and during playtime. We appreciate that scheduling make up classes is simple and can be done online. While our main teacher has been Dan, during make up classes as well as his normal Sunday classes all the instructors we've had also always take the time to give us helpful tips on what to do at home as well as how music and our voices impact our son's learning. In addition, Niko himself is extremely responsive and accommodating and the first street location manages to be cozy but spacious at the same time and is extremely stroller friendly. read more

My daughter loves NikosKids! Nikolai is the only instructor we've had- and we love him, but I've heard rave reviews about the other instructors as well. The music is a good mix of songs you know and love. Lots of opportunities for the kids to interact and dance. It's a huge hit for kids of all ages. I highly recommend! read more

Nikolai is an incredible teacher! He is so engaging and loving with the kids and caregivers. My daughter and I absolutely love him. I also love having a male instructor. I feel so often the classes we have her in are led by women. I like that she has some gender diversity in the adults she interacts with outside of our home. read more

The absolute best music class you can imagine. Nikolai is fun, engaging, and gets every kid (and adult), no matter how shy, up and dancing. My older son, who is now almost 6 years old, started with Nikolai when he was about 8 months old, and then moved into the Mixed Age class. He went from hiding in my lap to leaping into Nikolai's arms, and Nikolai's gentle, warm presence helped him learn to participate in a way that he has transferred into his school setting. My younger son also started with Nikolai as a baby and is now 3 years old -- he yells out the lyrics and dances in the middle of the room with total abandon because he feels so safe. Nikolai has instilled in both my kids a true love of music, and, beyond that, a comfort with group settings. Any time I get to go to the class, I feel a strong urge to throw over my law career and ask Nikolai if I can sign on to teach a class too! read more

Music Together is amazing. Both of my kids have loved it and the people who run it couldn't be nicer. Over the years, we've run into scheduling issues with naps, etc. and they always work with us to figure something out. The classes are so sweet and Nikolai and Jeanine are both great with kids.
