Irene was so kind, was able to take it back right away, and even checked it out for any loose stones. So I don't know the review that says that Calvins won't repair jewelry that wasn't purchased there. Last week I went in with a gemstone ring (*not* purchased from Calvins) that I wanted made into a necklace and they were happy to do it for me. I paid for the repair and a gold chain. When I went to pick it up, it was not what I asked for, but when I explained what I had actually wanted and clarified my thoughts, they fixed it for me very quickly. The woman helping me, Kathleen, was very sweet and I appreciated that she wanted to make sure I was happy before I left the store the second time. My piece wasn't a big-ticket item like their engagement rings or vintage jewelry, but they treated me with respect anyway. My request might have been less expensive at a different store (and they turned down my request to melt down another piece of mine to make a ring, because they don't do that in-house) but their customer service is top notch.

I had considered various options from other designers and online stores but sadly those pieces were just too large for my liking. It took about a week (purchase date to completion) - 5 business days - and I was very pleased with the final product. Overall solid experience - I do recommend.
