Hello I want to say I'm very sad that Nikki tans didn't respond to see if I can come at a later time for my tan . I understand their cancellation policy but I referred business to them and spent a lot of money in their boutique several times ,I did forget about my appointment , the day before I was sick, and the day of appointment a work emergency pulled me into a meeting and I honestly forgot, my fault yes. But it is sad that they charged my account without even trying to see if I could come in later,not caring at all. I get policies but life happens it's disheartening, they do beautiful work but I don't like them charging my card and not working with the client, it shows me they care only about money not their customers , I hung up yes because I was upset, and I apologized in a text and asked if I could come at a later time no response back, but this just was a bad day, as I said life happens. I hope someone is understanding when life happens to them , Thank you. read more

The tan was fine..but I have to agree with many reviews here. The sales push for the clothes was too much. I don't mind browsing...but the owner kept loading me up with clothing saying 'you have to try this'. My bad..I ended up buying something which i will now sell on Postmark as I don't like it :) I take full responsibility for that. But I won't go back. Girl from Ipanema is a much better experience. They don't charge you for disposable underwear and add a 'covid charge' (what is that?). read more

I absolutely love getting spray tans from Nikki Tans! I am a natural redhead so my freckled pale skin is very prone to sunburn and never tans (naturally). I have tried at home self-tanners which always leave me streaky and other spray tans (Mystic Beach) which make me look like I rolled around in Cheetos. I have gotten 6 or 7 tans in the last couple years, usually before a vacation. I never thought a tan could look so good and natural on me! After my tan, I look just as dark and even as my friends who visit tanning booths. Nicole, the owner, is very professional and welcoming, plus her own tan always looks impeccable. The actual experience is quick and painless, but remember to wear underwear that won't leave a weird tan line (I learned the hard way after my first appointment!) They also sell apparel, accessories and skin care products that compliment the tan. The items are on the pricey side but are great quality. I'm addicted to the Sun Bum sunblock, it smells so good! I also use the tan-extending lotion and I believe it does work. My only complaint is that I wish the tan lasted longer. Nikki Tans says it will last up to two weeks but I find it's more like 5 days depending on how much you swim and exercise. I always get my tan before a vacation and I start out tanner than my friends and return home paler whereas everyone else got darker! The tan fades pretty evenly, especially if you use the lotion twice a day, but I'm always left with a kind of awkward looking patchy appearance on my chest in the final days of the tan. Nothing a little exfoliating won't fix ;) If I could afford it, I would get spray tanned all year long! read more

Tans: I like that it's a more natural product than most spray/self tanners. But I found the process a little rushed and I had a hard time hearing her when she was telling me how to move when spraying the tan (since she is wearing a mask over her mouth and the machine is loud). Tan looked good and lasted about a week if I remember. Boutique: there are no words!!!! I thought it was just the owner who is up your ass to make a sale but she must train all her employees to act just like her. PUSHY PUSHY PUSHY. I wanted to buy something but refused on principle since her employee was shoving merchandise down my throat. Very unprofessional. "Try this one. Did you see this? We just got these in. These look great on, try it! Do you wanna look at jewelry?" Like seriously?! I am a grown ass woman and I can make my own decisions about what I like, what I want to try on, and what I want to buy. Also, stuff is RIDICULOUSLY overpriced compared to other stores/online. A $40 vest I had bought earlier the same day they were trying to sell for $68!!! And leggings for $88 I looked online were $50!!! Give me a break!! Save yourself a headache and some of your hard earned money. read more

I have not had a spray tan since my daughter was born because I've felt less secure being exposed in front of strangers, but the staff at Nikki's is so nice and professional. I felt extremely comfortable. She explained the before and after process and made it so easy. Also the product does not have a smell like some places. I was very happy with the way my tan came out. I was squeezed in pretty last minute on a Friday before the wedding I was attending on the day after. They were attentive to my concerns about not being orange. I am a pale redhead and I worried that I would come out like a freak. They assured me that it would look natural and it did. I was a nice golden brown for about 3 days. My face probably faded first. I will say that the tan did start to fade in an interesting way. It did not fade evenly and it seemed to fade based on my sleep pattern. The insides of my arms turned white while the outer arms stayed tan. I think it was related to sweating and that I sleep on my side with my arms bent. Overall, I was happy considering I only rely on a spray tan for a good two days. Be aware... They require you to wear underwear during your spray tan. This is not my preference as I don't want to deal with tan lines. They didn't tell me when I booked, so I was quite upset to find out on arrival that they would not do my spray tan nude. And to add insult to injury they then charged me for a pair of disposable underwear. Unfortunately, I was leaving town the next day, so I had no choice but to make the best of it. The underwear gave me crooked and uneven tan lines that made me feel insecure rather than sexy. Other cons: I had a lot of the solution on the bottom of my feet that I had to wipe off when I got home. Perhaps this is because they use paper rather than a towel for you to stand on. The tan itself came out OK, but not amazing. The color came out a little more grey than I like. The application was fairly even and not splotchy. Lighter on my legs for some reason, but I noticed they made a point of spraying carefully under my chin, so my neck was quite dark. Pros: Friendly. Nicole personally followed up with me to see how the tan turned out. Also, they give you a mask to wear during most of the tan. Tan fairly even and also lasted about a week. read more

Nikki is so friendly and professional. You can tell that she is truly passionate about her business! Her salon has a fun Miami beach flair to it and is super clean. I got a spray tan prior to going on vacation and it looks amazing. I feel great! I'll definitely be returning to Nikki in the future! I had an 8:00 pm appointment and I was told I needed to arrive 15 minutes to "tour" the salon. I thought this sounded strange, but I arrived at 7:45 and it was uncomfortable. The "tour" was an attempt to sell me everything in the store. I politely said after a few minutes I wasn't interested in shopping just the tan. The spray tan was horrible. I had streaks all over my body. Not to mention the color was orange. I've been spray tanned dozens of times and this was my worst experience. After the spray tan the employee continued to try and sell me more products. I understand they are trying to make money on products but the sales push is too much. Never again. read more

I called late Friday night for an early morning appointment on Saturday & they got back to me with in maybe an hour which was awesome! When I got there, I couldn't have felt any more comfortable. First, you walk into the cutest boutique w/ all sorts of gorgeous merchandise. They took their time explaining the process. A easy consultation of my desires & she even relieved any fears of being Orange or Too Dark! Professional & Fun! The actual process was quick & easy. I never write reviews of any place. But, I am doing this for the first time to warn the future goers to Nikki Tans. Well, I agree that Nikki's Tanning Place is neat and clean, and tastefully done. But I really have to say that I had the most nasty experience at her tanning boutique. She burnt my hands, and left my tan blotchy all over my body, arms and legs. After returning home with the tan yesterday, my skin burned like hell for 7-8 hours. I felt like my body was on fire; and felt like someone was pulling and stretching my entire skin out. I could not sleep the entire night. I got it done yesterday evening, and now at noon the following day my skin is still burning with weird sensations. I also felt bad odor coming out of the tan on my body. I also found Nikki to be unethical. She told me she will charge thirty dollars for tanning my legs and arms; and she ended up charging me over forty dollars. I did not want any other parts of my body tanned-I just wanted my white patches on the arms and legs to be tanned. Also, she had proposed that she will only tan the white spots on my body, but when we went into the tanning booth, she went ahead and sprayed my entire legs, arms as well as back and front also! I was speechless because the spray had already gone over my body, and I could not stop her half way through. By the way, the tan continues to smell offensive even after showering and scrubbing today! Frankly, I am surprised to see two people giving her 5 stars! read more

I have visited a couple of times. Tans are nice, natural-looking. During my last visit a couple of weeks ago, the staff was much more interested in selling me things than getting my tan right. The lady made so many attempts to sell me all kinds of stuff, it was almost comical (the effort was so pushy and exaggerated it felt like an SNL skit). The purpose of my appointment was to get a tan and not to shop for things I don't need. I wish the person had spent at least half the time she spent pushing merchandise instead listening to how I wanted the tan customization. The color was barely there, not worth the cost. As much as I've liked the quality of the tans from my previous visits, not likely to go back or make referrals. Just too much hassling, it's uncomfortable. read more

I'm writing this for my husband, a resident Californian, who waited to travel all the way to NJ during the holidays to get newly-bronzed from Nikki Tans. He absolutely LOVES it! It literally took 10 years off his appearance - needless to say he was very thrilled with the result! Ashley was very solid in explaining the process and suggesting what tanning intensity would be best for him. We trusted her and Nicole completely: they answered every question we had thoroughly and they are highly knowledgeable about the products they use. The ambiance is extremely inviting and professional at the same time - I actually felt like we were in an upscale salon in Miami! While I was waiting for my husband, I got a chance to check out the various items around the shop like the stylish jewelry on display, the trendy street wear and chic summer dresses, as well as a variety of tanning care products. And apparently they are always getting new, but limited, items in the shop so I've been checking in to see what they have so I can get first dibs on an item that I want. I also signed up for their blog (http://www.nikkitans.com/) so that I'm always informed on whatever they have going on. This is one of the best spray tanning salons out there. We went a couple of times while we were in town and had such a great experience both times (and I could NOT leave empty-handed - there was always something I wanted and I promise you will, too!). All of the 5-star ratings must be from people she knows because I had THE worst service at this establishment. Everything was wrong from the very beginning. When I made the appointment, I was provided with some do's/dont's, but OOPS...someone forgot to tell me to exfoliate the day before spraying. When did I find out about this very important detail? On my way out!!! Yes, I was handed a "before/after" card and I read it hours later. She was a horrible business woman. She did not introduce herself, did not explain her "wonderful" product, had me waiting in the tanning room for 10 minutes, she did not honor my referral card, because I forgot to present it to her and refused to give me a refund. I was so blotchy, I was embarrassed to wear summer clothes the next day. It was uneven throughout my body. She was so bad, I wouldn't even go back to demand a redo. Totally unprofessional. I actually think that the spray tans are great. So why the low rating you ask? Well, the women who work here appear to be friendly and nice but their sales pitches for you to buy something in the store are over the top awful. I was once asked to come to an appointment early only to be asked to browse the merchandise while the owner ( Nicole) sat there on her phone. It was obvious that the schedule change was to get me in there to purchase merchandise. If I wanted to shop, I would go to the mall. If I see something I like, I will buy it. They push and push and push. I personally know four different people that hate going there because of this reason. It's also the spray tan salon around. It's a shame because the tan you can get here is pretty good and their scheduling is pretty easy. It's too bad that this woman needs to let her staff just work there without selling and she needs to lighten WAY up on the sales. She makes everyone uncomfortable!
