Looked this place up by nearest distance from my location and happy to have found it. The place is very upscale although I was not dressed for it. My friend and I were also lucky to walk in during happy hour which ends at 6. The hooves on the happy hour were amazing. I will come back to try more items. I've been here one time before for Happy Hour and this time for Dinner. so what is the difference is that for the price this place is great for HH and I'm not so sure for dinner. First the parking is so strange but we got lucky with one of the few spots out in front. It wasn't very busy and we were seated at a booth right away. I really like the menu it has a great assortment of appetizers and entrees. Service is always a little slow but that doesn't bother me too much. I ordered the Fussili Gianna ($17) and my boyfriend got the Nikki's Trio ($17). It took awhile for the food to come out and I wasn't impressed with the presentation. The saving grace was the flavors and quantity of food. For $17 I'm not sure the value is there but I did enjoy my meal. So would I be back...no not for dinner but possibly for Happy hour. read more

We were visiting Orlando for our daughter's wedding (mid July) and wanted to host a post wedding brunch. Coordinated everything over the phone with Nikki from our home in California, for our party of 40. All of the delicious food - shrimp & grits, catfish, fried chicken, greens, macaroni & cheese, fried potatoes and peach cobbler were prepared on time for our pickup on Sunday morning. I came here on a Wednesday afternoon. There's a parking lot in the back but it is a tight squeeze to get back there and I drive a 4-door sedan. There is street parking. The place is cozy on the inside. I enjoyed the lighting and especially the music. I sat at the bar and Brenda attended me. I was new there and she made me feel comfortable with the regulars. Everyone there was so friendly. I used their restroom and I am not sure if there is only one toilet but it was very clean. Brenda made me a pomegranate margarita and it was absolutely delicious! It's funny how you could drive by a place and think 'I wonder if they're good,' and the answer to that is YES! Love their Chicken Parm with side of pasta and the wedge salad, fettuccine alfredo, prime rib dip and the bbq ribs. Love the wedge salad...please consider putting carmalized walnuts/pecans just to balance out the saltiness of the blue cheese. When in Pasadena area this is my lunch go to spot. Consistent and the lady server at the bar is excellent. The Pastrami sandwich is one of my favorites and they have Casa Amigos at the bar. This is my second time dining at this establishment, the first time it was amazing but the service was slow. The second time more recently, the service was awful. We (my boyfriend and I) were seated immediately without reservations and then the trouble came. The were provided water and bread, and then nothing. We literally never got a waitress. The bus boy finally told the hostess, and the hostessed ended up being our waitress for the entire night. People who were seated before us received their food before us and everything. I would give this place zero stars, but the hostess was very sweet and comped the appetizers and dessert. Having to wait and not having a waitress is a huge red flag. My family and I visited this place after finding out it is Sena on Myrtle's sister restaurant (which we love!) The food was DELICIOUS and the plates were bountiful in a good way. You know when you go to an Italian restaurant and they fill your plate with pasta and a little bit of meat? Well, Nikki C's is the opposite - our plates were filled with meat! Their wine selection was great at very reasonable prices and their dessert brownie was to die for, I want to eat it every day! I went here on Valentine's Day and I have to say I continue to be extremely impressed. Obviously, Valentine's Day dinner anywhere is a bit crowded. Nikki and her staff went out of their way to make my date and I feel welcomed and like family. The food was excellent (and always is) and the service was amazing. I have been coming here for years now and must say this little Italian restaurant never disappoints. I have tried everything from crab cakes, filet, pasta and pizza and have been delighted. The service is good and the little older guy that cleans the tables and fills the water glasses, wow is he quick! It gets busy so either arrive early, make a reservation or plan on waiting. Parking is can be tricky, park next door or on the street. The bar area is nice with a lot of seating, but it gets busy too and many patrons eat at the bar. The bartenders hustle and know how to make a decent drink. You can bring your own wine for a 12$ corkage fee, fee is $20 @ the bar. read more

We arrive around 6pm on weekday. Little parking lot on the back which i dont think it can accommodate all the guest if its full house. Otherwise, We have good time here. Satisfy with all the food. The service is fast and prompt. Fill out the water quick without request. Check on us here and there. The store even put a little candle on desert for birthday. Thats really nice. They honor yelp discount. In additional, We have little incident which one of us lost wallet n cellphone. It ruin our night but the store manager handle it pretty well. I've been to Nikki C's about 10 times but the last visit is going to be my last visit. Let me first say, the service was amazing. The food was our issue. There was 10 adults and three kids and there was only 3 of us that actually enjoyed our food. My husband and I ordered the fish n chips. (Beware they are battered like chicken parm) Not our style of fish n chips we enjoy eating. My sister ordered the Kobe burger medium, came out well done. My grandmother and other sister ordered the same pizza (can't remember the name) which had about 3 ingredients missing. After bring up our food issues we found out that the place has new cooks and a change in management. Which explains why the food wasn't up to par. I gave them 3 stars because the service was great for the amount of people we had and some of us enjoyed our food. read more

Have been wanting to come here for years but the occasion finally occurred this past weekend. Called at 5 to see if reservations were needed for a 5:30 arrival - girl said no. Upon arrival, they asked if we had a reservation & I repeated what i was told. The dining side had tables available and looked warm and inviting! Very neighborhood Hang Out feeling. They escorted us to a small table in the bar area, next to a large birthday party. So although the rest of the restaurant looked warm and inviting, the bar area was loud, including the bartender who was chatting with some customers. Now for the dining experience: The waitress was friendly and efficient, although I sensed a bit overworked. The food was good... I tried the "Nikki's trio" thinking if they put their name on it, for a first timer, it should be good. And it was... especially the ravioli! Couldn't finish it all which tells you these are healthy servings. The house Chianti was very good. Husband had the Risotto & seemed happy although we were unsure if the filet mignon was IN with the risotto or separate, until it arrived.. its separate. So overall, I'd give it a 4 star.. the food is solid american style Italian. Next time I'll make a reservation and be sure to get the Main dining room area, and avoid a week end crowd too! I have not been here for a while. Well time has not been kind. We were here 12/23. My wife had the salmon my son Orange roughy and I ordered a seafood pasta. I am a fisherman and am very critical when it comes to fish. The salad was ok. The calamari appetizer was not. Served warm not hot. It is strips of giant squid cut like French fries probably frozen. My wife's salmon was a little undercooked. My son was happy with his fish. The vegetables that came with their entrees were good. Now to my pasta. It came with two clams two shrimp some scallops and fish. It was served in a broth. Warm. But this is supposed to be pasta. It literally had 7 forkfuls of pasta. My wife said maybe your supposed to eat it with the bread? Not at all like the pasta I had there before. I am not a person to call the waitress and whine but maybe I should have. WE love this place for Sunday or Saturday morning breakfast. Their breakfast menu is just right and the bartender always serves up some "wake-up" drink for us. We've eaten there twice in the past two weeks. First was Sunday brunch. Rather than an overloaded buffet, they serve breakfast/brunch items from the menu. Loved Nikki C.'s! My friends and I were in the mood for somewhere with corkage, so after a little yelp research, we settled on Nikki C.'s. Corkage turned out to be $9, which is on the slightly expensive side considering the fact that there are a lot of places in Pasadena/L.A. that have free corkage, but c'est la vie, non? Plus our experience totally made a little corkage fee worth it! As others have noted, the interior is surprisingly attractive - very cozy and inviting; the interior alone was enough to make me stay! We were pleased to see the place packed when we arrived for our 8:00 reservation (crowds = good food in my book!), so we didn't mind having to wait a couple minutes to be seated. Overall the service was good - not stellar, but we never felt neglected. Our waitress was very friendly (albeit a bit busy), and our bread basket was constantly being refilled (yum!). For dinner, I went with one of the specials: a Bleu-Cheese Crusted Ribeye with shoestring french fries. Delicious! I'm not the #1 lover of bleu cheese, but something about this steak was screaming to be ordered...so I did! And I wasn't disappointed. It was DEFINITELY bleu-cheese-tastic...for someone like me, it was perhaps a little overwhelming, but I loved it nonetheless. It was perfectly cooked, and the shoestring fries were excellent...paired with the yummy Cambria Pinot Noir I brought for the occasion and I couldn't have been happier! One of my friends ordered another one of the specials, the Bacon-Wrapped Scallops, and another friend ordered the Risotto Siena, all of which received 2 thumbs up from my friends. Places like this is the exact reason why I want to move to SF... food sucks soooooo bad here, and the price is a joke. On Rosemead and California, I guess they are used to getting the San marino moneys, but grey goose simple cosmo is $13 bucks? That's a joke. This is not LA. Wine list, poor, salads, poor, server, too suburb unpolished looking but attitude of hollywood or beverly hills, decor, okay, wine glasses not polished and dirty. Pasta is over cooked, sauce is too heavy, the presentation on the plate is, well, they don't know what that means I guess. Why does that the bartender girl have to look that trasy at a place supposely classy and laugh so nasty? 1 star for remodeling and changing the sign to more presentable one, but their focus needs to shift to food and service. But the audience really can't tell what's good, so they are okay I guess. Waitresses were hanging out in back.... talking sooooo loudly among themselves, + on their cell phones (like it was no tomorrow)! Seemed like they were new there... Wondering if they were all related to the owner.. or to each other??? No way would they be working in my establishment with that behavior. Our waitress tried her best to be polite.... Although talking to us... loudly! .... while trying to look annoyed.... Almost as if we had purposefully interrupted her *chat* time with the girls. Obviously, they are earning a salary....... I have driven past Nikki C's a thousand times and finally had dinner here last week. I'm upset with myself for not eating here sooner! The service, ambience and food were wonderful. The restaurant is perfectly staged for a nice, adult dinner without any screaming children around. This restaurant draws a more mature, relaxed crowd so you can sit and enjoy your meal and conversation without feeling like you have to rush out of there. They give a bottomless basket of garlic foccaccia with balsamic vinegar but be careful not to eat too much or you'll be full fast. We each ordered a caesar salad as a starter and they gave a very generous portion! It satisfied my need for a classic caesar with shaved romano cheese and garlic croutons. I ordered the Prime Rib French Dip (cooked medium) and my husband ordered the Chicken Gianni Fusilli. Both dishes were delicious! The prime rib was sliced thin and was tender and juicy. The baguette they used had enough crunch to hold up to the dousing in the au jus. The pasta was tasty, the chicken was grilled while retaining its moisture and the sundried tomatoes were plentiful. The server brought over a spicy, santa fe type sauce for the pasta which just made it even better. We were very pleased with the service and the food and will gladly go back soon! read more
