I was referred here by Gilbert Dogs 24/7 after realizing my dog is behind on her shots. They are in the middle of Gilbert, actually very close to the Cosmo Dog Park. I arrived a little late but the staff was very nice and accommodating. Then my dog thought it would be a good idea to poop right in the middle of the doggie waiting area. I helped clean it up and the staff was quick to disinfect the area and not once did I catch any attitude in the staff. In fact they were cheerful as they helped clean up. The doctor was prompt, my dog got her 3 shots and we were on our way quickly. The big draw to this place for shots is they don't make you pay an office visit fee, just the straight cost for the shots. So if you are low on your money but need to keep your dog up to date on shots, feel free to skip the regular vet and go here. read more

Niki's Place is great for discounted veterinary services. I have taken three rescue cats there for FELV/FIV testing, and this was all done very quickly, and in a professional manner. I was not charged new patient fees, and I did not have to submit the animals to a full exam - They were willing/able to do just the tests, which was great. They also have VERY reasonably-priced dental cleanings for cats & dogs - I hope to take advantage of this soon, and will write another review following that visit. PLEASE do not take your pet here. I will say the front staff was the only pleasant part of my experience here. They were very sweet over the phone and very helpful in person. However, Kelly Collins made this experience horrible. She was not careful or cautious with my nervous dog, and seemed to have already made her mind up that she did not want to perform his dental cleaning upon looking at him. She said upon entering the room, "You almost have to be trying to get your dog this fat." She was extremely rude and dismissive of him and advised me that she would not perform the cleaning on him and that I would have to take him to a full service (he is only 6 years old.) Regarding the "concern" that she had for him not being able to be serviced, he had recently been taken to other groomers/clinics as well as a full service and none of them mentioned any objection to perform services on him due to his weight. They name this location after an adorable creature named Niki, we're pretty sure Niki wouldn't even let Kelly take her on a walk. read more

This was my first experience with my brand new dog and getting her spayed. I trusted this place as it was referred to me from a good friend. I can't explain how friendly the staff is and how comfortable they made me feel throughout the entire experience, as I was clearly nervous. I had such a great experience here I have to share. I needed to get my cat's teeth cleaned and I suspected he needed extractions too. He had cat breath that could knock a buzzard off of a shit wagon. It was awful, but cleaning his teeth and figuring out what was wrong in there was beyond my pay grade. I tried looking in there, once. He just howled and thrashed and faked a Grand Mal Seizure until I freed him, defeated, bleeding from scratches, and covered in cat hair. Cleverly I had used The Googles to get an idea what a cat dental was going to cost and it looked like it was going to be at least $1,000 in money I could ill afford to spare for my cat's teeth...Hell, my human kid's teeth need work too and they take priority. (Sorry, not sorry, PETA.) Then I overheard someone mention Niki's Place specializing in this kind of work for dogs and cats at low cost, and I realized it was just about a mile from my house in Gilbert I couldn't believe my luck! To be clear, I would have driven across the valley to save that kind of money, but I didn't need to. Their prices are posted right on their website and they are very budget friendly. They specialize in teeth, spays/neuters, vaccines and microchips for cats and dogs so I assume they don't have the overhead of the traditional vets office and can keep their prices low. I called them and they scheduled me for 2 days away and gave me pre appointment instructions of no food or water for several hours I took him in early that morning and was happy to see that they offer 2 entrances, one side for cats, one side for dogs. This is good if you've ever walked into a waiting room with a scared cat having a 'Exorcist' style freak out session in a cat carrier over seeing a strange dog, or an overexcited dog straining at the end of their leash to terrorize someone's cat in the waiting room. The customer service from the reception, vet tech and the veterinarian was super friendly and accommodating. They did my cat's teeth for $195, he also needed some extractions, antibiotics, and take home pain killers, plus I had him micro chipped, so I paid about $100 more, but out the door for $300 when I had been looking at a $1000+ vet bill is so much more manageable! I am so happy with my services from these guys, please give them a try! Oh, and no more litter box breath from my cat...yay! read more

I wish I could give this place a 0. This place is the most unprofessional place I have ever gone to. It has the WORST customer service I've ever experienced. My husband and I took the day off and drove 30 minutes to our appointment, when we get there the blond receptionist tells us our appointment is next week. We told her, we were told the appointment was that specific date and time. I had them on speaker when I made my appointment and multiple people in my house heard, not to mention it took forever for them to even answer when I called. Which should have been a sign of their unprofessional service. She rolls her eyes at us and sighs and says she will go look to see if there is a kennel available. An hour passes by and we are still waiting and she still hasn't told us a kennel is opened or at least acknowledge us. Everyone seemed to be waiting a long time too. They did not even apologize or let us know the status, they literally just had us waiting. I started feeling uncomfortable leaving my puppy at this place. I would rather look for a place (we are new to the area) that treats us with respect, is good, and has good customer service. I would be willing to pay more for services. My second time using Niki's Place and what can I say? They did great the first time, they did great this time and I know they will do great next time. The staff are friendly, they don't rush you off the phone when you call in, they are always pleasant and caring. The costs for teeth cleaning are great. I've just had 2 of dogs teeth cleaned in the same day and Still paid less than what it would have cost me at their primary vet office for one cleaning. It's great that they have all their costs listed on their website unlike some other businesses where you have to call in just to find out costs. First, let me say I treat my dogs like people, so I have very high standards and always research places to which I bring my dogs for any type of treatment. We were referred by a friend who took her dog there calling this place: "affordable and professional!" She was certainly right! SPAY/MIRCOCHIP Our weimaraner, Britley, needed to be spayed and her incision is so small and clean that I couldn't find it at first. Price wise - they are extremely competitive, even with the mobile spay & neuter clinics, but I felt so much more comfortable taking her here. We also put in a microchip and purchased pain meds so our total was $165. DENTAL - MUST READ! We also brought in our 4 year old yorkie, Bailey, for her annual teeth cleaning. Small dogs have bad teeth in general but my little gem is the queen of costing me money with dental work! I took her to a different place 2 years ago which cost me $2,000 because she had several extractions and last year's cleaning was over $700. I wish we knew about Niki's Place sooner! A normal teeth cleaning is $150 and they only charge for the first 4 extractions... which is unheard of! But the best part was: the vet thought that Bailey's teeth didn't require as much cleaning as normal so they gave us a discount. WHO DOES THAT?!? It's good ethics like this that make me proud to support their business and know they are really there to offer affordable & quality care for our pets. These people are wonderful! I have taken all 3 of my Berners here even though they use acepromize as their knock down drug for neutering. Berners have an immune deficiency and are sensitive to this drug. The staff and Vet on this visit were very caring and really liked my boy. They also helped me get him into my SUV when I picked him up from his procedure. The reason for 4 out of 5 stars... I think they dumped an entire bottle of perfume on him before he left, so he wouldn't smell like fresh surgery. When you are super sensitive to smells and just spent hours bathing your dog, because he can't get wet now for 7-10 days, it would be good to ask his owner, me, if it's okay beforehand. Not even exaggerating. He was wet when he came out and I should have questioned them then. Sooo frustrated!!! read more

Have been coming here for years, many years. Actually this last time I thought, this will be my last time here because the staff is not that friendly and the previous Dr's were horrible with my pup. Coming in last week to meet Dr. Askyou was the best thing for my pup. My dog had zero problems with her as she took the time to meet my dog and let her sniff instead of going right for her neck or bottom to give her vaccinations. Most dogs don't like a stranger to just grab at them as that scares them and outs them in defense mode. I was asked to leave without being helped because one of my rescue dogs was scared when they took him back to microchip him. They told me my rescue pup, whom I have had for months is "vicious" and they cannot help me. They refused to let me go back there with him, instead they wanted us to leave. When I mentioned this to some friends, they shared a similar story. I would NOT recommend this place if your dog has any sort of behavioral issues as they will not accomodate them. Got my girl spayed here about a month ago. It went well, very friendly and answered all my questions. Was a little concerned a couple weeks after her surgery. I stopped by and there was a sign on the door stating they were looking for a full time veterinarian and no services until then. I was grateful my vet was able to answer me questions. Took my mini dachshund to Nikis to have a baby tooth removed she contracted kennel cough. She then gave it to my other doxie. Not fun! Called Nikis and the gal said my dog didn't get it from there. We told her our pup stays indoors except to go potty so explain to me where else she would have gotten it! She was pretty rude. She finally put the owner on and the owner did get us some antibiotics for the dogs. I know these things happen but they should warn people of any instances of contagious disease. First experience was amazing, which is why I came back for a second appointment. First visit the doctor answered all of my questions/concerns and I left feeling less worried about my dog. Second visit was horrible. NEVER get Dr. Kelley Collins! She honestly made me feel like I was a horrible pet owner and only gave me negative responses. I had questions that I gave vet tech so that the doctor might be able to answer, but she had so much attitude and rudeness going on that she gave us our papers and slammed the door behind her. We came in for our annual shots for my dog and she; 1. Never told us he was negative for heart worms. She just shoved a paper in our face and slammed the door behind her. 2. Never addressed any of our concerns that we had. 3. She came back into our room judging me as a pet owner saying that, "my dog is acting out because of the way I raised him." 4. Yelling at my dog when bringing him back in. It is so sad to say that we will not be returning because of an incompetent Dr., who is rude. The front desk staff is nice and the prices are great, but not for the rude doctors that make you feel like a horrible dog owner. read more

Love love love this place! I just moved to Arizona from Southern California where I had an amazing old fashioned vet where they didn't try to take you to the cleaners. I paid $150 for an annual teeth cleaning there. When I was looking for a vet here, I called around and asked the cost of teeth cleaning. Every place I called in the east valley area was outrageously priced like $400+. I heard about Niki's Place on a Facebook page called Gilbert Girlfriends. Their Niche is procedural appointments such as spay, neuter, teeth cleanings and shots and guess what? Teeth cleaning was $150! I had them remove 2 growths while my 10 year old golden retriever was under anesthesia for a nominal extra fee. Dr. Phillips was the vet we saw on our initial visit. He was very kind and knowledgeable ( plus he is from Montana!) when we went back to get the stitches out from the growth removals we saw Dr. Schuster and she was awesome too! She gave me some good advice about a behavioral issue with my dog and told me about a newer vaccine which seems to have helped my dog with his stomach issues!! We've had great experiences here for the last 8 years with all of our dogs until today!! Our appointment was scheduled at 7am however it was super busy and they were way behind. As my 12 yr old son and I sat in the waiting room, I listened to 2 different customers express frustration regarding there service as they checked out. (This should have been our que to leave) It was approximately 740 when we got checked into a room. The gal who checked the dogs vitals was super sweet however I can not say the same for the vet,Kelly Collins. She wasn't personable nor was she even remotely sweet with any of my dogs( Newfoundland, English Bulldog and Schna-Zui) All three of the dogs were there for shots and the bulldog was supposed to get his teeth cleaned and have possible extractions done. When I was asked if there were any concerns, I asked if she suggested a certain brand of Flea and Tick medicine. She responded that it's not necessary. I let her know that we have a place in northern Arizona and it's very much necessary with all the pines and ticks. She instantly became defensive telling me to ask my regular vet????? What the heck.... Her next question was she wanted to know why I need to be called if any of my dogs teeth need to be extracted for this meant she would have to try to get ahold of me while my dog was under. Again, what the heck?? This was a question on their form asking if I wanted a call and I said yes. I expressed to her that I didn't need a call if it was a tooth or two however if his mouth was as bad as I thought it might be since he was a rescue that I would like a call. This send her off her rails. She told me that I should just take my dog to my normal vet! Seriously.... I brought him here because this is where I have been coming for so many years. She walked out of the room and the assistant walked with the paperwork for the other two dogs. I have never felt so frustrated nor have I ever been treated so poorly by someone I was paying for any service. Thank you to all of the staff at Nicki's Place! My little abused foster Chihuahua Mary, had horrible dental disease and needed 11 extractions. After calling many Vets in the area, i was in despair. The estimates were outrageous, ranging from $700- $1200 dollars. Then i called Nicki's Place and was completely amazed. Not only did they do the same work for $365 dollars, they took excellent care of Mary, who has recover ed and is thriving just five days later. In today's society where Veterinary Medicine seems to have gone Corporate and the bottom line is all that most Vet's seem to care about- it is extraordinary that Nicki's Place is about the health and well being of your animal and not about profit. As an animal rescuer in our community, I have recommended that all local rescues use Nicki's Place. Rescue animals have so many health needs and it is difficult for non-profits to pay for their care.
