The person in charge of the desk and reception, Danielle, always understands what I say, and knows her Japanese cars in and out. I had work performed on my car with another repair shop in town. This other shop had all these recommended servicing and repairs totaling up to $3500. I took my vehicle to Nihoto which their pricing provided a great value for a spark plug change. Once the work was completed Nihoto was very honest and told that my car was in great shape and no other servicing and repairs was needed. This is wonderful to deal with a local Tucson family business that is truly honest and offers a great value to their customers. Thank you again Nihoto! read more

Sent the wife in with the 08 sienna. The ac wasn't working properly. They replaced a $60 servo motor for $400. Not only did it not come close to fixing the problem, the owner Andy lied about it. He tried to tell me the txv valve was electronically controlled. I found that odd because no wires go to this valve. I'm taking it to the dealership to have professionals fix it. Do not trust this liar. They tried to tell my wife another $700 control module could fix it. I found that part for $30 to $100 dollars. Absolute b.s. liars. read more

I have been taking my 1994 Nissan pick up truck in my 2005 Toyota Camry to Nihoto for years. Even after all this time, I am so impressed with their honesty and care. Finding a competent & trustworthy mechanic is such a relief. Just today I took my truck in for a small issue and Andy noticed radiator fluid stains near the top of the radiator. I braced myself for the bad news, but when they checked it out and called me they said all I needed was a new radiator cap!! Here was an opportunity to take advantage of an unsuspecting customer, but that is not how Nihoto works, thank goodness. If you have a Nissan, Honda or Toyota, this is the shop for you! read more

I just started doing business with them, and I am impressed! I have had my car worked on at the dealership for many years, but when the last repair estimate came in I felt it was time to look at other alternatives. I needed to have one of my catalytic converters replaced. Dealer cost--$1,150. Nihoto quoted me $590, and delivered on that quote! The only problem I had was that the parts warehouse sent the wrong part, so the job took longer than expected, but guess what? They offered me a free oil change in the future for my inconvenience, and have since delivered on that.! Who else does that? We moved to Tucson in 2001 and we have used Nihoto ever since for our two Hondas. In my opinion they are the best in town for Japanese-made cars repairs. We found them to be honest about estimates and recommendations. One time at a new car dealership we were told many things needed to be replaced for our 2003 Honda Odyssey and we decided to take it to Nihoto for a second opinion. It turned out only few minor repairs were needed. You do get what you pay for. Of course Nihoto is not the cheapest, but their mechanic always gives quality and trustworthy work and front desk person is warm and personal. We are small businessmen ourselves and we believe in charging fair prices for quality and superb work. Nihoto earns our trust after 15 years we are with them. We recommend them to anyone who wants a trustworthy Japanese auto mechanic repair for a fair price. read more

This place is the best! We were referred by friends soon after we moved to Tucson and it was my first experience with a mechanic telling me that my car did not need an expensive repair. I find their prices very reasonable and they are so gracious in helping me prioritize what repairs are needed and when so I can budget properly. I know great places to bring a car for repair and I know places to avoid. Nihoto is one to AVOID!!! Their prices are absolutely ridiculously high! They charge MORE than the new car dealerships! NO ONE should charge more than the new car dealerships! The main reason for doing business with an independent repair shop, is to save money, NOT spend more! Nihoto is very elusive when it comes to giving out information about your car's problems, telling you repeatedly to, "Bring it in. We'll look at it and give you a FREE estimate." BIG WHOOP...a FREE estimate!! There aren't many shops on the planet that won't give you a free estimate! Avoid this place! It is a very expensive pigpen! This is a case when you really would do better, bringing your car into the new car dealership for work...and I don't make that statement lightly! read more
