I have been a part of Nightingale since the 90s. This studio has really gone downhill. Every time I go into a room, I feel I need to get a tetanus shot. I shower as quick as possible when I get home. The rooms an equipment are filty. The drumsets are falling apart (mostly the hardware) with the toms flopping about. The drum heads are trashed. The PAs feedback like crazy and look like they are from the 80s. Let's not talk about the disgusting furniture. The drum fans are always broken and there is always only one person on site to manage things. I can do without the lounge, cookers, patio lights, E charger, if it helps afford better gear. I'm there to rehearse. I can hang out on my own patio. After all I'm paying for that crap! read more

I had an unfortunately experience with Nightingale Studios in my first and last rental. I reserved online a studio for 2 hours at 12 Noon on Tuesday, Aug 8, 2023. As this was a new studio for me and my 3 other musicians, I arrived 15 mins before my reservation. The parking lot was locked with no visible entrance. So, I call the main number and got voicemail. I left a message asking someone to call me back. After no response I call again 5 mins later, and then again 12:01 pm, after my reservation was scheduled to start. Still nothing and no one. At 12:07 pm, a car pulls up, a gentleman gets out of his car, and unlocks the gate, while the 4 of us were standing there. The gentleman says nothing to us. When I told him I had a 12:00 reservation and asked what happened, he casually said, "Yeah, sorry, I'm running late." I was pretty mad, but I decided not to escalate the tension, given I needed him to continue to help us. He proceeded to open up the complex, then our room, and his first action was to bring in and hook up 5 fans, as the room was an oven. Secondly, the room looked nothing like the pictures on the website. It looked like the room hadn't been vacuumed in a month. While he was setting up the fans, I took it upon myself to turn on the sound system and test the mikes. One could hear the fans blaring through the sound system. When I completed my set up, and he the fans, it was 12:30 pm. We finished our sauna enriched rehearsal 5 minutes early, and I went to the office to settle the account. I chose not to ask for any discount to see if he would offer any. He didn't. While he was processing the full rental fee, he again casually said, "Sorry, about before." That was it. I truly can't believe he didn't offer a full throated apology with an offer to discount the rental. However, I chose not to say anything, given I was never coming back. I'm writing this review, not to be vindictive, but to use the review process for its intended goal; to inform future customers. When I mentor musicians, I tell them if you are late to a gig, you can play great, but you'll never get a 2nd call, and you'll never know why. As of this posting, Wednesday morning at 8 am. They have one (1) rehearsal booked for the entire day today, out of the 8 studios they have. I hope management reads this and chooses to make the necessary changes. Where do I start!! This place is freaking awesome!!! I never leave reviews for places but Nightingale Studios were some of the best people! We hosted a rehearsal party with about 8-10 people for studio B. Plenty of space for everybody! They let us be in full control of the studio and even let us hang outside the room & come in and out as we please. The sound system is great! We were BUMPIN!! Thank you again for having us Nightingale! This is the only place I will hold rehearsals for any artist I work with. read more

Rented out Showcase room A for a private event for a show for fans and meet and greet. Was able to bring in beverages and light refreshments for the attendees. Our Soundman was able to get great sound from the equipment there. The attendees really enjoyed themselves and the vibe of Showcase room A./Nightengale Studios outside area set up with tables and chairs. Brian Perry was very professional and answered all our questions. Note: best to book 2nd rehearsal room to use as storage and dressing room if you are bring your own equipment. They can package that for you. Refundable cleaning deposit is required and if you remove Studios backline , take photos - must be reset precisely as possible. read more

I've been to about half a dozen rehearsal studios in LA and the valleys. Nightingale is not the best... but hey it's definitely not the worst. It's a good go to when everything else is booked because they have a lot of space and the price is right. Sound wise it's decent although you can usually hear the other bands and sometimes they are super loud which can be distracting. The other downsides are the cold in winter, hot in summer, crappy temperature of the rooms (I had to wear gloves at our last rehearsal) and the general cleanliness of the place (although this tends to be an issue at most rehearsal studios so its not going to be factored in to my rating) The upsides are that the staff are very friendly and we've met some other musicians here that have come out to our shows or checked out our band online. Additionally as I mentioned the prices are great, and they tend to have availability when we need it. Tip for any ladies that might find themselves at Nightingale... this is more of a testosterone hangout than an estrogen fest. Translation... bring your own toilet seat covers and sanitary wipes, etc. You might need them. read more

I've surprised my husband a few times with 2 hour sessions where he can go relax, play for awhile, and just make a bunch of noise without our two kids bothering him. He always, always has great things to say about Nightingale and I do as well. It's easy to book, super affordable, they're super nice and easy going, and the place is perfect when you need a place to rehearse without bothering the neighbors. Everyone on staff is always friendly and helpful. I love the outdoor lounging areas with the tables and chair swing. The place has a really nice vibe. Loading in and out is super easy and parking is never a problem. For the price Nightingale is the best rehearsal/lockout space I have been to in LA. The heat and a/c work ! Rock on! read more

Nightingale just changed a bunch of their regular rooms into lockout rooms, so unless you want to practice on a Friday or Saturday night or at noon during the week, good luck getting in. My band (Fern Lane) finally ditched this place and found a new rehearsal space in Glendale. We had no idea that all the things we were tolerating at Nightingale didn't exist everywhere else. Life is grand now. Do yourself a favor and don't practice here... unless you love cockroaches, overpaying, dirty bathrooms, and Friday night practice. read more

I've been rehearsing here for over 10 years and I can say Nightingale has gone downhill. The gear is beat up, the rooms are grimy and the A/C is just a swamp cooler that has trouble cooling all their rooms. Parking is a bit of a hassle here during peak hours too but luckily they provide carts to assist in loading gear. For the price and availability it may be worth it but if you havre a couple extra bucks and more notice to book time, there are a couple other options in the Burbank/Glendale/Noho area you can try. read more

I went here with some friends to practice in their hourly studios on a recommendation from another friend, and I was quite pleased with the hook-up. Management seemed pretty chill. They have tables and chairs outside to relax in b/t sets. They have clean bathrooms! Great rates and huge air-conditioned rooms. They come furnished with mics, PA system, drumkit, and a fat couch for guests. They even have limited parking spaces, and street parking when full. What more could you ask for? I've been coming here for a number of years, using rooms hourly and practicing with bands that have monthly lockouts. The space is really nice and hidden from the residential surroundings and the people who work there are usually really accommodating. The old posters around the halls are pretty cool, the bring a real nostalgic feeling whenever I roam around. read more

Just like everybody else, I've been to almost every practice spot there is between San Fernando and Rancho Cucamonga. I know I could practice somewhere closer to me but I keep coming back to this Nightingale because you can't beat the service. Jay is super helpful and attentive. Every room I've been in is spacious. Yeah so they're a bit grimey, big deal. I'm there to practice with my band not eat truffles off the fucking floor. They do have clean bathrooms though. The equipment is a bit beat up, but if it doesn't work (which doesn't happen often) they will accomodate you quickly as possible. I recommend you bring your own cymbals if you don't want to pay extra to use theirs. Parking is limited on the property, but there is street parking as well. Overall I think this practice spot is great for the price and like I said before,customer service at this place can't be beat. read more

Came down to check out the place and jam a little (Guitar). Met with Brian who set me up in room. Extremely nice and helpful. He gave me a lot of information about the place and about scheduling future practice sessions and parties. I will definitely be back. You can't beat the price for what you get. Had a great experience in studio C yesterday. We had 10 band members working on a long list of tunes for a performance later this week. The space was great. All the equipment worked well. Clean area, bathroom & cool outdoor eating area. Local pizza delivery. All tech questions were pleasantly resolved by very knowledgeable and friendly manager. I've been to just about every rehearsal studio in Los Angeles over the past 20 years. There are many variations between them. Some are just plain dumps... cockroaches, non-working bathrooms, drug addicts living in the studios, but cheap. The really nice places are just too expensive for your average working musician. Nightingale's was great... I auditioned for a few bands at the place in Burbank, and thought that from the size of the room and how great the PA sounded that it was one of those expensive studios..... NOT true!! Much to my surprise, they are really inexpensive, and the guy Jay that was working was super cool. They have a motto that says "Tell us what you need!" and they hold true to it. The rooms I saw were all really clean and smelled nice, the bathrooms were outstanding (my girlfriend appreciated that) and the equipment was decent. I would highly recommend this place. My last band rehearsed here for over a year. I would still be in there if that band still existed. The room was clean, didn't smell bad and was air conditioned (a must for summer!). Jay in the office is as cool as they come as is Mike, although I dealt with Mike much less often. After almost 2 years, MIke quickly returned my security deposit in full. I have never used the hourly rooms nor any of their equipment, but I would be more than happy to come here and do that the next time I jam and don't feel like spending all day setting up. 4.5 stars, really. My Band and I have rehearsed here many times over the past couple of years. We used to rehearse at AMP but found that Nightingale was closer for all of us. Many times, we get to the room we have booked and some of the gear listed for that room on their website is missing or substituted for gear of lesser quality. However, when you ask to change it out or for anything else, like a music stand, the guy working the desk will give you a bunch of attitude. We've had issues with one of the guys who sits at the front desk several times now, and even talked to the owner about him, but he's still there causing us trouble. The last straw for me before leaving this review was their reservation cancellation policy. You have to cancel 3 days in advance, otherwise you are still charged. No exceptions. We tried calling 3 days in advance to cancel and no one answered the phone, so when the guy finally called us back he said his hands were tied! We had to pay for the entire booking because they didn't have someone there answering their phones! Unacceptable. Back to AMP for us... read more

I had heard from friends that this place had basically "stopped trying", but one of the bands I work with has been rehearsing here and I have to say I have never been treated as rudely anywhere else in L.A...and I have rehearsed at a LOT of places. These clowns have signs on the wall that say not to touch the P.A., so if you try simply to plug your quarter inch or XLR cables in yourself like you would at any normal rehearsal space or gig you get yelled at and condescended to, all while your boobs are being stared at (if you're a lady). I am a full-time professional musician, accompanist, and musical director and was spoken to as if I was a naughty child when I cable sound boards and P.A.s from scratch on a daily basis. All because apparently their sound gear is in dire risk of exploding? No wonder they don't want you to touch the gear yourself; the P.A.s are terrible and the mics feed back constantly, and they probably need to pop a few quarters in or say a magic spell or something just to get it working for a 5 hour rehearsal. These rooms are laughable as rehearsal spaces anyway, as you can hear everything note for note from every room, even the ones at the end of the hallway. While Los Angeles is by far the worst city for people making a living by renting out a set of terrible dirty and noisy rooms as "studios", this place takes the cake for terribleness. And parking sucks. I don't know what they charge for the rooms as I am hired in for these rehearsals as a studio musician, but whatever was paid was certainly not worth it. I highly recommend Sound Studios in Van Nuys; good deals, nice staff, big rooms, and the sound is great! read more
