I thought this would be my new long term dentist after moving across the country. My initial visit…read morefor cleaning was okay but I suddenly had 2 cavities. I've had regular dental cleanings every 6 months for more than 10 years and my previous dentist had no concerns. I allowed the doctor to complete the fillings. During the procedure the assistant pulled on my mouth and lips so hard I was bruised from the tool she was using. The dentist was far from gentle or caring while drilling on my teeth. The filling was too high when she was done but she insisted it was right and sent me home. The next day I called the office because the filling needed to be ground down and was only able to leave a message because they are closed on Wednesdays. The office never called me back on Thursday, I had to call again. I was then berated for calling because they were looking for an appointment for me (as if I was clairvoyant and knew this without speaking to them). They were unable to schedule a time for me to come in while I was on the phone and had to call me back. It took 3 phone calls for me to be booked for an appointment to fix previous work. The appointment I was given was 2 days later. Attended the follow up appointment and the issue was partially fixed. I requested one additional adjustment at the end of my appointment but the dentist didn't agree that it was necessary and cleaned up the work she had done. It has now been 6 days since the appointment to correct the filling and I am still in pain because the filling needed to be ground down more like I requested. Called the office to find out they are closed and won't be back for another 7 days. They do not have any back up dentists to assist with patients or offer any guidance for what to do until they return. I called again the day before the office returned from vacation (Thursday) to leave another message expressing the pain I was still in. Again, no call back the next day, Friday. The office finally called me back Saturday morning and I was unable to take the call. Called back as soon as I possible but the gentleman was unable to schedule me at that moment for some unclear reason and I needed to wait for them to call me again. Finally got a second call to schedule an appointment and the earliest appointment available to me was 11 days out but they would call if there were any cancellations. Notice the pattern of multiple phone calls for an appointment? There were no cancellations and I went back a second time to have the filling corrected. I was in and out of the office in less than 20 minutes. While I was there for bite adjustment, the doctor argued with me about what I was feeling in my mouth. If it took less than 20 minutes to fix, why was I forced to wait so long for an appointment? Once I'm done with this review I'll be booking a new dentist for my next 6 month cleaning. Oh and they frequently call early Saturday mornings for appointment reminders, hope you weren't trying to sleep in! TL DR: I suddenly had cavities out of no where, cavities were repaired but very poorly (3 total visits), dentist did not listen to the patient, walked in with no pain and got to endure 4 weeks (to the day) of mouth pain because of the mismanagement of this dental practice.

I set a first appt. at Old Towne Dentist after reading reviews for Dr. Houpt, which were very good…read more After being seated in the dental chair I heard Dr. Houpt was part time retiring and I would be seeing Dr. Redgate whom I had no background check or reviews. I thought I Would see Dr. Houpt and thought he was the only dentist there. I continued with the first appointment with a laundry list of recommended work for my 71 year old teeth including replacing old fillings etc. In the world or unlimited funds and time maybe that would be a good plan. I was going to wait to see the cost associated with the proposed plan which I have yet to receive. The purpose of my visit was to get a quote for bonding for chipped front teeth, nothing else was bothering me. I was also interested in the cost of veneers. When I got home I checked online what I could and learned Dr. Redgate had excellent school history for Dentristy, apparently worked as a dentist in the military and the only history I could find of dentistry in general public was in CA in 2021, changing offices in 2023 and now at Old Towne Dental in WA.. I certainly cannot know if there is more history with general public - this is what I could find online. I would love to see real patient reviews both from California and Washington. While serving as a Dentist in the military is relevant, serving as a Dentist to the general public is also important. I think the skill set would have differences, but I am not a dentist. I am someone who has seen many dentists over 70 years, some bad, some good, some excellent. It is hard to know until the work is done and then it is what it is. Therefore - public reviews from prior patients are important to me. I wish it was easier to select a dentist. I wish Old Towne Dental and its associates great success and many good reviews.

I had a very similar experience to the review left by Susan a couple years ago. I cannot say anything but great things about both my dentist and dental hygienist, however, the women at the front desk are less than pleasant. Michelle told me that I said "they had horrible service", called me condescending, and questioned wether I wanted to reschedule an appointment, when I was apologizing for running late and mentioned that I typically have to wait in the waiting room for 15-20 minutes anyway (which is fine, I only said it because I was going to be 15 minutes late because my car battery had died). Following, when I asked to speak to someone else, Vicky hung up on me 4 times (I could hear her picking up the phone and the click of hanging up), and (Stacy?) called also called me condescending and almost made me laugh when she said "Vicky is a mature adult and a professional" when I said that she was clearly hanging up on me... It all felt very "mean girl" and was upsetting to experience having these women (probably mothers) be so rude to a young woman and loyal patient since 2020, I believe. I have previously had issues, yes; Vicky, the office manager, tries to make me pay someone else's bill, which I had explained wasn't mine, and she obviously did not believe me and the bill could've gone to collections. I had to solve that on my own. My relationship was "fine" until I felt ganged up on today by these women. Whatever, done with this place. Watch out everyone!!! It sucks that a place can suffer so much by those who don't even provide the main service. I apologize for the long read, but it felt necessary.
