Dr Agarwal is great in less than 4 months she helped me get my A1C down tremendously, have referred me to the other treatments available in the network got me off insulin and fought the insurance company for me to get the proper equipment I needed to monitor my condition correctly. I don't recommend seeing Dr. Agarwal for perimenopause. I went to see her for my perimenopause symptoms and she denied that any of my very real, medical symptoms were related to perimenopause and suggested that I was just "insecure." She dismissed me with an antidepressant and gave me a restrictive diet plan for someone with Hashimoto's disease (which I don't have). She even told me that I shouldn't need to take iron pills (which I take for anemia, I'm vegetarian) since she and her parents are also vegetarian and they don't take iron. As a medical professional, she should know that all bodies are different. Diabetes seems to be her expertise, so perhaps she should only treat diabetic patients. read more

Went high and low to find an endocrinologist for a friend of mine, and decided to go with this one. I live almost 2 hours away from this location, but I thought it was going to be well worth it. got ourselves the earliest appointment - one month wait. wasn't thrilled, but I continued to call everyday for a cancelled appointment to takeover. soon thereafter, we finally got one, and I was overly excited. Background - My friend suffers from hypothyroidism -Mind you, my friend entrusts me with her life, because I have sacrificed much for her -I have been giving my friend iodinized salt for awhile, and she was fine -decided we move to an iodine solution purchased off of amazon. After 4 drops in the course of 2 days, my friend has been having negative side effects (blurry vision, increased pulsation). I made the assumption that the drops had affected her in such a way as to turn her from hypo to hyper- due to the symptoms, so i told her to take a pause on her hypothyroidism medication. We took her to valley urgent care, where the doctor had suggested I stop playing doctor and told my friend to continue to take her medication. I questioned his advice, and he lashed out on me saying he incurred a lot of debt, and went through medical school, and because doctors are not called doctors for no reason, we listen to him. Days later, she continued her medication, and her vision got worse. Day of agarwal- My issue is only with agarwal. I explain the situation my friend is going through, and the first words that come out of agarwal's mouth is - "Do you feel bad?" the audacity. First off, how unprofessional of you to attempt to involve yourself in personal matters that are beyond your job description and understanding. Did YOU wake up on the wrong side of the bed and forget your profession? We were at a daze. To ensure I heard clearly, I asked "Sorry?". And she proceeds to ask the same question but with a more serious tone, and an angered expression. . So I respond "yes, I do feel bad". AND, she follows up with, "You should feel bad". At this point, I have no words. Subsequently, much like the urgent care doctor, she begins to talk about how we need to stop playing doctor, and go see real doctors, like them. I would most agree with these words, if, in fact, medical insurance were free, readily available, and free of malpractice. And, why not:free of personal attacks. Furthermore, she begins to end the session by telling me all the things I already knew from the online research she is so earnestly in objection with: iodine was the problem, pause the pills, wait for the symptoms to go away, and stamps the envelope with something along the lines of -I understand, you guys are still young, and you make mistakes. I am 26 years old, you define young however you want, but let me tell you, whatever your definition of old is, the more old you become does not mean you become less prone to making mistakes. You speak foolishness as much as a rooster crows. Here I thought a doctor's visit was going to involve much more than just talk. Not to be pompous, but I paid 180 dollars for you to humiliate me, and for you to simply reassure me of what I already knew. I understand life has its problems, and it can sway your emotions for hours, or days, or even years, but if you're grumpy, please attempt to keep your grumpiness away from your practice. Perhaps dance, yoga, and cooking are not good enough hobbies? You do not have a clue of the amount of stress I have sustained from this, or not even a small detail of our life and what we are going through. So, when a patient comes to seek help, DO NOT COME AND KICK THEM WHILE THEY'RE ALREADY ON THE FLOOR. You have humiliated me, and you have offended me, and I ask, agarwal, "DO YOU FEEL BAD?". we get it. You doctors are well-qualified, but do not spit on our faces about your credentials, and make up presuppositions, and accuse us of wrongdoings. Keep your emotions to yourselves, and behave in a manner respectable that is expected of you supposed respectable doctors. We are not all affluent individuals that can afford insurance, and fancy coverage, so please do not come to me, and tell me to not play doctor, because life circumstances require me to find ways to treat health issues on my own, and guess what? doing so, does not come with criticism and speculations of my humanity. You want people like us to stop playing doctor and go to doctors like you? why don't you give us reasons to, and NOT give us reasons to not to. Please wake up from your false reality, and get a taste of the real world. Do not try to educate me on what being poor feels like because my family grew up on poverty. I had a real taste of it. I am a new patient of Dr. Nidhi Agarwal. I was referred to her by my primary care physician as my calcium levels were elevated. Dr. Agarwal diagnosed me by my bloodwork and immediately identified what the issue was. She proceeded to order her own set of tests and the results were as she alleged. Dr. Agarwal's calm yet compassionate demeanor really helped me in processing the steps of diagnosis and treatment. She is also very prepared and came in with my labs prior to me sending it. I have been a patient of Dr. Agarwal for a year and the positive results I have gained from her has been amazing. As someone with PCOS, it was really hard to have a regular menstrual period, always having to deal with really painful cramps and back pain as well as weight that seemed to never go away no matter how much I tried. i am new patient of Dr. Nidhi Agarwal. i normally check out doctors down long beach area (just coz' i'm used to lb memorial care) but i was in a hurry to see one due to my pending surgery. you see, i was supposed to have elective surgery back august and when the anesthesiologist saw my AIC - the surgeon did NOT proceed with it. thus, i had to go back to my PCP to see a specialist. my PCP gave me another doctor to see but she was way too busy. i just checked the doctors in the lomita area and found Dr. Agarwal. i saw her and told her what happened. @ first, i was in shocked when she told me that i was diabetic (really?). however in 2 weeks time, she was able to get my A1C down to the level that i was able & cleared to have my surgery (which i completed this week). i was so impressed that i had to tell everyone i know of her. in fact, i go to lindora for my weekly lipo/booster shots and one of the nurses there says she'll check out Dr. Agarwal. i'm still in treatment but she believes that i'll be done pretty sooner than i anticipate. thus, i HIGHLY recommend her to anyone. read more
