I was greeted by everyone in the office warmly. The office was super efficient and everyone was clearly playing on the same team to ensure great care for all patients. The nurse/medical assistant who works with Dr. Mejia was also awesome, and followed up with me at the end of the visit to make sure I had any follow-up or prescriptions the doctor had mentioned. Everything was timely, efficient and just kind and respectful. I can't recommend the doctor and this office more highly!

I called the office to set up an appointment with Dr. Matthew Mejia who I had seen before when my regular doctor was on leave for a while, but he was booked up for months and Dr. Lin was recommended to me and had openings. I was behind in my annual physicals and needed it soon. She was available and I am glad found her. She is compassionate, thorough, and looks for preventative future measures to procure. She recommends needed vaccines, procedures and therapies. She answers my questions with clarity, provides feedback, listens well, and does not rush me.

My experience now has been when we have discussed my previous medication for cholesterol that I been prescribed for over 7 years no change and still helping now requires for me to pay my copay that was never charged before. A physical exam is consider preventative care where one should not have to pay their copay Fee. Sad to say even with a depression screening during your physical exam is also not cover under your physical exam but you will asked for your copay fee. So now I will always decline to answer the questions example the PHQ9 form so I won't have to pay the copay fee. Being a RN and working for over 30 years in the medical field yes medical care has turned to the greedy side to bill as much as possible so that they can make money since the HMO's don't pay the BIG bucks. Not only my opinion but many other MDs that I know and have their own private practice have voiced their opinions on this matter as well. One even decided to move to another county because of not being able to practice with knowledge based experience because of being told what medication to prescribe because more money will be paid than the medication that the MD knew worked best for a patient based on years of working with a specific patient and the time he worked on with the patient to find the one that they knew was working with no issues. My copay will not break my pocket but I think of the patients that have limited income and don't know any better when they truly don't have a professional business advocating for them. Bad enough certain people don't like to go to the doctor because they feel the MD's will say whatever to get more money from a person or the insurance. Thankful to have insurance, PPO is an option but I'm quite sure even if I had to pay more with a PPO it will have its own issue as well. As for the El Segundo facility the location, office layout, cleanliness, and latest equipment that I can say is not an issue. Their I could give it a 5 star.

Not always an easy task, especially when docs themselves have bosses to answer to. The whole health system can be hard to navigate for all of us. As such, I did have a miscommunication with Dr Tarpley, through no fault of either of us - just one of those miscommunications that can happen to us all, despite best intentions. Much to his credit, when he was alerted to my concerns he took the time out of his weekend and a special family celebration to call me and we were able to discuss my medical issues. He also made sure that from here on out I know exactly how to get in touch with him. He did not "need" to call me as promptly as he did, but he made the time. That is the type of doctor you want to have. He has a very kind way about him and is a gentle soul.

I absolutely LOVE her. I went to her for about 15 years. She listens to your concerns & addresses them. She goes out of her way to make sure you're well cared for. After we moved, I continued driving an hour to see her. I only stopped seeing her after she moved her practice to South Orange County. That was just a little much for me to drive. My family member, who works in OC, continues to see her. I still think about going back to her new OC office.

I had to once file a police report against a male Doctor at an urgent care in El Segundo for sexual assault and so I was so nervous to see another male doctor. HOWEVER, Dr. Shiau ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. He knows how to carefully examine women and I couldn't have felt more safe. Thank you Dr. Shiau for your kindness and for giving me hope again. What started as a regular doctor visit, ended in a therapeutic experience for me. I feel relieved. I highly recommend Dr. Shiau. He took a lot of time with me and wasn't rushed at all. I felt safe, secure and comfortable with him. So happy to have met him. Also would like to add that the nurse Blanca is so sweet so kind and did an amazing blood draw on me. !!!!
