We have a certain timeframe we need to make to move in by, so to keep the process moving quickly I decided to look for a handy man on yelp. I received a few estimates to install five new interior doors and trimming on the exterior panels, but only one person called me to come and scope the job. That was Nick from Ohana repair service. He arrange to come the same day I entered the request for service which was great for me. He was on time for his 11:00am appointment and looked over what the job entailed and explained a few things. He provided the cost to do the job and when he could do it. He mentioned to us he could do it Wednesday or Thursday he would let me know Tuesday night. Long story short. His price was very reasonable. He came the next day which was Wednesday. He and his employee installed five interior doors and the exterior skirt throughout the house in one day. Now the doors needed adjustment and cutting to fit which took a little time. Nick does excellent work and communicates really well. He keeps you informed with what is going on with the job. He is very easy to talk to and friendly. My wife and I are very happy with the job he did and definitely will use his service in the future. Just for starters, Reggie met me the day I called him and was able to get his team started the same day with demolition, talk about service! Top Notch!!! Communication with Reggie was simple, and he kept me updated throughout the whole process. He is a contractor that definitely cares about his craft and looking out for his client. He identified multiple necessary repairs that were needed but could have just been overlooked by someone just doing what was asked of them. An example, the task was to replace the decorative flooring and drywall patch in the bathroom, he found that the toilet/shower repairs that would be necessary or it could have resulted in further leaks. Not to mention the wall joists and floor board/joists were in very bad condition from previous water damaged, so they also replaced all water damaged items. He transformed our rental into a wonderful looking home. The repairs included: repainting the interior of the whole home, refinishing of all kitchen/wet bar cabinets, drywall patch/repair, floor board/joist replacement, new vinyl tile flooring and floor boards (also painting to match cabinetry), bathroom renovation, kitchen counter top and sink, window & window frames, electrical fixtures/outlets, door & hardware, and all sort of other misc odds/ends. In hopes of finding a Handyman who could do it, I called Reginald at D's Home Repair Service. He was prompt, professional and Akamai (smart) in determining what the problem was. Sorry but it's a long but worthwhile review. I really don't like giving bad reviews since it can…read morereally affect a business. But I felt I needed to in this case. I called Anytime Handyman to come out and replace 2 damaged doors and install 2 new doors. I sent a text message to let Tyler letting him know my lock box number since it's a rental and no one will be there to let him in. I gave explicit instructions as to which doors needed to replaced. (it was obvious because of the visible damages). He sent me the estimate, I agreed and paid for the doors so he could order it. They went back to the rental, and installed the new doors as planned. Here's the prolblem, they took off the wrong door (not damaged) and put the new door on. Leaving the damaged door still damaged. That's not the end of it, the latch was not installed properly, it had a hole and crack. As for the other door that they installed, there was also a problem, the strike plate and latch were off centered and wasn't closing properly. I called Tyler to tell him the wrong door was removed and replaced, and sent him a snap shot of the text I sent him when he went out for the estimate, explaining which doors needed to be replaced. His answer was, that's not how he interpreted it. Everything seemed to be wrong with the job. From the wrong door being replaced, to the damages to the door and the other door's latch not closing properly. He said not to worry and it's normal it's not a problem, just let him do his job. Now I'm no handyman but I do know how to install a lockset, and I've never seen a hole of that size, nor did I ever see a strike plate and latch installed at an angle. In Tyler's defense, he did say if I'm not happy he would give me a new door. But at this point, my trust with their quality of work has diminished. Not even a new door would make me continue to do business with them. I will take that loss, and stop all remaining repairs with this company. Update: I read the business owner's responses to my review. First of all, the "so called Painter's" was my daughter and son in law who came over the weekend to help paint the doors, only to find the damaged doors and discrepancies on the other door as well, including the wrong door that was removed. I would have no reason to damage these doors that I had already paid in Full upon completion on Weds. Lastly, it speaks volumes when a business owner would illegally break a homeowner's right of privacy and send photos to anyone requesting it, without prior authorization. I stand by my review.
