Molly wants us to love our home, never pressures, but has real guidance (eg what makes a strong offer for a given house, when is too much, etc.). She puts in endless time to research the homes we considered, knows the market (herself and is in a solid community of agents), goes above and beyond (finding answers to any question we have, research, construction/house matters). Molly has great judgment and navigates people very well. She is kind with/about everyone, has solid integrity, is always willing to go the extra mile and is overall a strong agent. We can't recommend Molly enough.

If I could give them a lower rating, I would. The agent was…read morea total disaster, and after I caught her lying to me, I told Creig Northrop that I didn't want to work with her any more because of the lying and repeated screw-ups. (My sump pump had failed during a rain storm during and open house, and she had not bothered to tell me this. I went by on Monday and discovered this. She then tried to claim that she had told me, but I could look at my phone, and see there were no calls, emails or texts from her.) Creig promised I wouldn't have to deal with her any more, and the following Saturday, I go to the house, and there she is preparing to do an open house. On various occasions, Creig told me this woman was no longer my agent, but he never returned my calls. I got multiple calls or emails from this woman on Sunday nights saying something had changed and I had to sign something this minute. There was a contractor she found to do some work in the basement. I get a call on Monday morning saying that (1) the few things that are still in the basement have to be moved, (2) for them to do it will cost $500+, (3) for them to reschedule will cost $400+. I spoke to the agent, who was incensed that the company thought she should have told me that the stuff had to be out of the basement. She acted as if some of the problems were just that she didn't understand English, but I think it was (1) a cover for the fact that she had a tendency to screw up and (2) because she seemed to have no idea what was important and what was trivial.

The Empress team does it all for all things home buying and not in a cheesy way. They make the process seamless and convenient . Reviews that most people will find come from clients, as we certainly want to hear the perspective…read moreof someones experience as a consumer, but I am a mortgage loan officer. I can shed some light on working with Janie behind the scenes, in which consumers do not hear or know about through the process. When it comes to working with a realtor, you will not find a realtor better than Janie. First and foremost, with Janie's background and knowledge in home repair and maintenance, along with her connections and understanding of home quality. Janie is able to walk into a home, just like I am able to look at a loan, and know if this is a doable property from a lending standpoint to expected repairs and maintenance needed for a home to relay to a client. Most agents are unaware and without this knowledge and background, and look to appease the client which is point 2. Janie does not sell the client like most, to get an offer in quickly, she gives them the truth. That's how I have run my business, and it is the single most important factor that drives success, not selling or pushing someone into something they may not be a good fit for, or not knowing all the details. Third, Janie has tons of connections, not just apps or knowledge of companies, I am talking real connections to all areas of the home from home repair, to IT, to flooring and ways you can snag some deals on things you decide to accomplish with your home thereafter you move in. The next area comes with the process - unlike most realtors, Janie is INVOLVED the entire process, which helps take a lot of miscommunication and heat off me as a lender - she helps get documents, sets her clients expectations accurately and prepares them for the process, she translates my mortgage lingo to reiterate a better understanding to clients, and she is usually on the phone with me daily reviewing all the files for her clients to ensure everything is on track - she lays out the red carpet here. I was blown away when I started working with her and didn't have to request or even obtain a single document - She literally sets clients up right and stays on them throughout the process to ensure we do what we need to do to close on time. If there is an issue, Janie steps in. If there is a need, Janie steps in. If there is a question, Janie steps in. When you consider a realtor, you have to remember, you do not need a degree, you do not need knowledge, and many look to sell or appease people as a service. Same goes for lending; it's a person-to-person basis as far as who is good or not. This can be tough for someone discern, especially if they have multiple people reaching out to appease them, and then someone comes in and paints reality. Now I do not speak of all realtors or loan officers, I speak in terms of over all what the experience typically can be - you will find one of 3. Someone who wants to appease and will be your order taker, someone who is knowledgeable and has been doing this for awhile so they take the reigns within compliance for you, and then Janie, who rips off the baindeds and pulls you through to the closing table so that you have not only a great experience and knowledge, but someone you can utilize as an professional asset and become friends with in years to come. Janie is community, Janie is a true partner, Janie is the best. If you are looking for a realtor in Maryland or the other areas she services, if you do not use Janie you are missing every bit of what it looks like when a realtor earns their commission and goes to work for you.

Ron is warm and friendly, without oozing fakeness like 99% of real estate agents do. He has spent years in Baltimore and knows the neighborhoods in an around the Inner Harbor (Canton, Fell's Point, Upper Fell's Point, Butcher's Hill, Patterson Park, Butcher's HIll, to name a few) very well. We saw MANY houses with Ron, and he developed a good knack for predicting what each of us would like. We even went back for second and third showings on several properties, and Ron was just as excited to go back to see them as we were. It was our pleasure to have our standing weekly date with him to see places! When we found a place that we liked, he was psyched for us, and worked to negotiate with the seller's agent on our behalf. Unfortunately, the first seller had an inflated view of what the house was worth relative to the overall market. Ron had our best interests at heart and recommended that we did not agree to her inflated price. We took his advice, and continued searching. We ended finding a better deal in a better neighborhood about a month later. We're so happy with Ron and we definitely want to recommend him to others!

She suggested strategies and sales prices but when acceptable offers failed to come in, she never urged me to lower my price or to hold firm either. Getting exposure of city row houses is difficult in a crowded market. But besides MLS, she placed advertisements and promoted my properties through investor mailing lists. When offers came in, they were usually incomplete. Kyle was meticulous in assuring that every detail of every contract was clear and complete, leaving nothing to interpretation. Kyle turned out to be a pro who got the job done.
