A nice quaint restaurant. We got there close to closing but we still were served our meal in a timely manner and the food was very tasty. The drinks were a little on the weak side in our opinions but overall it was a very nice dining experience. The wait staff was somewhat attentive. It was interesting though that the restaurant did not have ketchup available.

When in Windsor go to Nico Taverna! This is a hot spot amount the locals and for very good reason. The restaurant sets the tone for a super fun night with its trendy and sexy vibes. This restaurant does upscale Italian food and it certainly knows how to execute. The food portions were ample and the ingredients were fresh; the dishes tasted like something your grandma would make. We started our meal with the beet salad. The beets were cut thinly resembling a vegetable carpaccio and sprinkled with candied pistachios and goat cheese. Although the beets were on the aldente side, the thinness of the vegetable complimented the crunchier aspect to the vegetable. For main dishes we decided to share the rib eye and the cioppino. The cioppino is a tomato based stew of fresh seafood (mussels, clams, squid, scallops, shrimp) sitting atop a bed of gluten free penne. The seafood tomato broth was unbelievably flavourful without being heavy. Traditionally this dish is accompanied by crostini as the starch component but I absolutely loved that it was accompanied by pasta. The rib eye steak dish was also delicious and executed well. The meat was cooked to a perfect medium rare and served on a bed of grilled veggies. The whole dish was adorned with a green chimichurri sauce that was a blend of fresh herbs. The sauce added a bright and zesty compliment to the meat. Of note for my fellow celiacs, this resto offers gluten free pasta, gnocchi and pizza crust upon request. Nico taverna is definitely a hidden gem in Windsor and a place that I will return to for delicious food, welcoming hospitality and a romantic atmosphere.

Nico's is a great Italian restaurant on Erie. We started with grilled calamari, which was delicious. I shared the arancini and boar Ragu pasta. The rice in the arancini was a bit over cooked, but had great flavor. The pasta was lacking salt/flavor, but was good. My friend had the chicken dish which he said was awesome. Another had the seafood pasta dish which was also very good. I recommend the red sangria to drink!

Johanna and Chris are wonderful servers and the atmosphere is amazing. The food was to die for. We all really enjoyed celebrating my birthday at Nico's. Highly recommend!

They start you off with a petite loaf of savory garlic bread that is complimented with a creamy dollop of real butter. Of course we enjoyed the bread with a mint mojito and a glass of cab. Now the mojito wasn't quite sweet enough for my taste but the wine was crisp and flavorful. The lamb was the absolute best lamb we have ever tasted. The meat quality was excellent and the chef cooked it to perfection. Melt in your mouth and seasoned to perfection. The risotto was cheesy and the asparagus was fresh and crisp. The portion was large and a great value. The salmon was also perfectly cooked. The lemon balanced the dish out with the seasoning. This dish also came with the risotto and asparagus. I can't even say enough about the service! From the greeting at the door to every server who assisted our table, simply excellent We finished our evening splitting a creamy, sweet crème brûlée. The meal was $147 US and worth every penny and more! Don't sleep on this place! You won't find a better date night restaurant.

First, the place is so welcoming. Several different rooms as well as the outside patio, which has bocce ball. It was too warm & humid for us, so we sat inside at a table near the bar. The servers were all very friendly; it seemed a different person brought each course. We had the bread service and calamari for an appetizer. The bread and herb butter were very good, and I understand that it does cost the restaurant to serve it, but $7 seemed like a lot to me. I also enjoyed the calamari. I had the pasta Bolognese (they had some other name for it), which is one of my favorite kinds of pasta. This did not disappoint. I loved the super wide papardelle noodles (also a favorite!) and the small scoop of cheese (burrata, maybe?) on top. My sister had the mushroom pizza (also with a different name). She enjoyed it as well. I am glad they decided to take us there; it was all very good and in a nice atmosphere as well.

The waitress asked my husband 3 times if he wanted a third beer. Who did she think was driving home and why so pushy? Broccolini - nicely cooked, buried in cheese, a spicy aioli-type topping. Branzino - tasty, overly salted and oiled Cacio e Pepe - bucatini was a bit overcooked. Not enough pepper!

Wished I'd remembered to take pics before we started to eat, but I'm sure you can tell how wonderful it looked. The service was excellent. Sharon was very friendly and efficient. She was knowledgeable about the menu and had lots of suggestions. We decided to dine outside and because the restaurant is nestled in a neighborhood, we people-watched as we enjoyed a leisurely lunch. It was very enjoyable. All in all, having lunch at Mezzo was one of the highlights of our day in Windsor.

It took a long time for our food and drinks to arrive. The arancini and spinach salad we started with were both good. The salad maybe a bit overdressed. It's nice they provide bread and butter for the table. My grilled salmon was bland. I don't understand the marscapone rice it comes with -- I detected *zero*. marscapone. The daily vegetables side could have been from frozen. I needed to ask the server for salt because of the lack of flavor. I really enjoyed my mojito mocktail! Very minty and the elderflower cordial was very flavorful. Didn't miss the booze at all. I'd definitely return but might order the lobster pasta or a steak dish instead of the fish -- my friends seemed to enjoy their entrees more.
