I had the "full" portion of the sweet potato gnocchi in a blush sauce with a side of Osso Bucco.

I started with the brown sugar bacon, as I am making a breakfast casserole for Christmas morning and thought it would be perfect in it. I am sure it would have been perfect except for the fact I could NOT stop eating it as I cooked it up. It cooked up brilliantly - crispy and meaty, and came out of the pan the same size it went in. Since I had eaten a fair amount of it I decided to also cook up the bourbon bacon. Every bit as tasty. I have never had bacon like this before. But wait - there's more! I also bought two gift baskets as gifts for other people with bacon flavors such as thai and garlic and sushi (yep - sushi). But part of the basket I bought for Christmas for our family was a tin of snickerdoodles made with Apple Cinnamon bacon. I don't think I have ever had a better cookie. So, if you like bacon, you simply have to give Because Bacon a chance to WOW you. We are going to be sending gifts and enjoying it for years to come - I just know it!

I picked out a five flavor 1/2 lb sampler of Caramel Bourbon, Smoky Bear, Honey Chipotle, Garlic and Sriracha, and Maple and Brown Sugar. Let me tell you, it was the worst present ever because I kept eating it as I was cooking it for him! Each flavor was unique and tasted exactly like the name. It was all fresh and delicious. I could actually smell the bourbon when I opened the Caramel Bourbon package. The house smelled wonderful after each preparation. There are only two things that could be improved here. One was we got some rather fatty portions of bacon. I try to avoid eating fat, but my boyfriend said the fat absorbed a lot of the flavoring which he found delicious. For me that meant my dog got 50% of my bacon slices... not cool! The second thing is that they need to invest in packaging. Presentation is a huge part of the culinary experience. While bacon tends to speak for itself in a lot of situations I was taken aback by their super basic packaging. I suggest a quick trip to FedEx Kinkos to get some stickers printed up with their logo, slap one on the package and problem solved. As far as the business side is concerned there was a quick turn around from order to product delivery and the proprietor was friendly, responsive and flexible with delivery. All in all, I will be ordering from her again.

The rewards program gives you a various % off each month but the trick is that you have to go every month to keep the rewards going, so apparently it works since here I am over a year later and still doing it. Dream Dinners makes eating at home so easy. They have about 15 different meal options each month that you choose from in 3 or 6 serving sizes (minimum 36 servings). The ingredients and instructions for each meal are set up for you and you put them together according to the dummy proof directions and then you put everything in one big ziploc bag and stick it in your freezer and then pull it out the night or two before you want to eat it and cook it according to the printed cooking instructions they give you. The food options are really good, there are repeats a few times a year but there is really good variety and there have only been a couple of meals that I wasn't thrilled with. They also have sides (veggies, bread, dessert, etc) that you can buy. It takes about an hour to prepare all your meals and the meals average about $5/serviing which is pretty good compared to going out or having to grocery shop and figure out what you want to make. This has really changed my family's life I think my husband and I have forgotten how to actually cook because Dream Dinner's takes all the thought out of it.

To buy three chicken breasts for $12.00 with a little marinade and then add a cup of rice, noodles or potato just makes sense to me. Add 50 cents to the price and make it a meal and I'll add a can vegetable. You know how much rice I can buy for $3.00 at the market, which is the average entre cost. They said the reason they don't always have an added entre is to keep the costs down. NO, it's to make a larges profit on those item. One cup of rice goes a long way and the cost is pennies.

And whoever mops the floors must have an irrational childhood fear of cleaning corners. Although the floors themselves are clean, each corner has a disgusting black buildup of filth. Likewise, the sinks in the bathroom. They have not been cleaned well in a very long time. Food: the beef roll pie is delicious. The marinated beef is OK but should be served cold, not room temperature. The steamed dumplings were OK too. However, the noodle dishes were oily, bland, flavorless, and just seasoned with a sweet brown sauce. Further, there is almost no meat to be found in the noodle dishes. What I had looked to be scraps. I paid three dollars extra to have the wide hand cut noodle. It was basically served raw to me. Service: this place has no concept of service. Food comes out haphazardly. First I got my entrée, then my daughter got her entree, then we got two appetizers. Sometime later, my son got his entrée, and the steamed dumplings came. Never once was an empty dish taken away, and never once was a water glass refilled. Service here is absolutely awful. Other than the beef roll pie, there isn't a single redeeming quality about this place. The food is awful, the service is terrible, all surfaces are sticky and dirty. Avoid this place at all cost.

I have consistently come here to get food throughout the years and it has been so rewarding to continue to see Yum Village be such a pillar in the city and in the food industry! The service here is incredible, you don't bus anything yourself. I also noticed that the staff that day was all women, from everyone front of house to the chefs in the back as well preparing the food, which was extra fun! They are so attentive to us and even when there was a snaffoo with on of my party's orders. They paid with cash and I think perhaps that messed up the tracking of the order through the system? I'm not entirely sure. As for the food, Yum Village has maintained some of the same dishes throughout the years, while also adding and/or rotating a ton of other dishes through the menu. I can definitely confirm that the garlic parm jerk chicken remains my favorite and that the spice level, while still plentiful and intense, has eased up a bit in recent years. Either that or that I have become more spice heat-tolerant! Either way, the portions also remain huge, so there was a ton of food to take home! I love the truffle collard greens, the deeply unique and flavorful corncakes, and also the star of the show this go around was the deliciously complex fried cheesy fufu! It oozes so much flavor and is the perfect addition to any meal and very shareable as well! Keep up the great work, Yum Village!!

We ordered on the tablet they have at the front counter and sat down to wait for the food to be delivered to our table. They did have happy hour going, but I don't recommend it. The drinks weren't good honestly. Not sure what was being mixed but the liquor didn't taste right. We both had the Classic Village Meal (Jerk Chicken, jollof rice, and plantains). It was good food. I loved how the jollof rice and plantains were well prepared and hot. The jerk chicken wasn't served as hot as the rice and plantains so I think they had a timing issue in the back, so that was disappointing. There is a lot of food, so we were able to take home half and have it for breakfast the next morning. We also tried to the jerk taco and it was good and hot, but awkward to eat because there so much on top and it was just falling off as I was trying to pick it up and take a bite.

One thing I love is that you have the option to cook your own food at the table or have them cook it in the back for you. The atmosphere feels traditional, with grills built into the tables, which adds to the experience. My only complaint is that the grill doesn't always seem to get hot enough, so we usually just ask them to cook everything in the back. The staff can be a little hit or miss. Sometimes you get someone who seems annoyed by simple requests, and other times you get someone warm, fun, and excited to share more about the food and culture. But the food is what keeps me coming back. It's always fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with high-quality ingredients. Korea Palace is a staple for me, and when I want a comforting, reliable Korean meal, this is one of the first places I think of. Give them a try. You won't be disappointed by the food!

We got barley tea, which was complimentary. The service was below average. It was busy but our server never came back once to check on us. She also had a lousy attitude in terms of simple questions I asked about the menu and seemed annoyed. Ambiance was warm on a cold day and pretty packed with many customers ordering Korean barbecue.
