Complementary bread with tomato and herbs
Jessica U.

Came here with my boyfriend with a groupon we bought. It's tucked away on Pitt in downtown Windsor. Walked out from Caesars casino, which was a nice 7 minute walk. Made reservations on a Saturday night as it was packed. It's nicely decorated with walls decors, nice black table cloths. Ordered a vegetarian pizza and chicken breast with mushroom and balsamic infused sauce. It was with complementary bread with topped with tomato and brushed with some herbs. It was fresh and hot out of the oven. The pizza had lots of toppings, cheesy, and had about 8 slices. The chicken breast was moist and the balsamic reduction had a nice sour kick to the dish. Got a creme Brulee for dessert. This was a little disappointing. I think there were too many egg yolks because it wasn't creamy in the middle, it was pretty stiff in the middle. The service was good, and they refilled my water 2 times and cleared out the dishes soon after we were done. I did find that it was really noisy in the restaurant though, seems like the sound just bounces off the walls and echoes.

Any trip to Windsor is not complete without a visit to La Guardia. The pastas are amazing and fresh and the service here is also stellar.

They start you off with a petite loaf of savory garlic bread that is complimented with a creamy dollop of real butter. Of course we enjoyed the bread with a mint mojito and a glass of cab. Now the mojito wasn't quite sweet enough for my taste but the wine was crisp and flavorful. The lamb was the absolute best lamb we have ever tasted. The meat quality was excellent and the chef cooked it to perfection. Melt in your mouth and seasoned to perfection. The risotto was cheesy and the asparagus was fresh and crisp. The portion was large and a great value. The salmon was also perfectly cooked. The lemon balanced the dish out with the seasoning. This dish also came with the risotto and asparagus. I can't even say enough about the service! From the greeting at the door to every server who assisted our table, simply excellent We finished our evening splitting a creamy, sweet crème brûlée. The meal was $147 US and worth every penny and more! Don't sleep on this place! You won't find a better date night restaurant.

The restaurant has a good amount of seating. Our server was fantastic, answering all of our questions about drinks, features, and soup of the day. All of the staff were very friendly, saying hello and asking how we were. I ordered the virgin fresh fruit smash to drink, and it was refreshing. I thought the NA champagne added a nice touch. I was happy with this selection as good mocktails are sometimes hard to find and are generally more basic. The food here is excellent! We decided to get some small plates to share. We went with the bread service and the bread was light and fluffy and came with a whipped butter that melted in nicely. We also ordered the arancini because who doesn't love a good fried rice ball and they were delicious. My friends and I also shared the Caesar salad, which came with anchovy and a breaded hard boiled egg. I loved the savory flavor these ingredients added. For my main I had the feature, which was rainbow trout with a creamy sauce paired with fingerling potatoes and asparagus. This dish was phenomenal! The portion was big and the fish was light. I loved the crispy skin on it. My friend was celebrating her birthday, so they brought out a cannoli for her for dessert!

The waitress asked my husband 3 times if he wanted a third beer. Who did she think was driving home and why so pushy? Broccolini - nicely cooked, buried in cheese, a spicy aioli-type topping. Branzino - tasty, overly salted and oiled Cacio e Pepe - bucatini was a bit overcooked. Not enough pepper!

It took a long time for our food and drinks to arrive. The arancini and spinach salad we started with were both good. The salad maybe a bit overdressed. It's nice they provide bread and butter for the table. My grilled salmon was bland. I don't understand the marscapone rice it comes with -- I detected *zero*. marscapone. The daily vegetables side could have been from frozen. I needed to ask the server for salt because of the lack of flavor. I really enjoyed my mojito mocktail! Very minty and the elderflower cordial was very flavorful. Didn't miss the booze at all. I'd definitely return but might order the lobster pasta or a steak dish instead of the fish -- my friends seemed to enjoy their entrees more.

We opted for the 8 minis for our group and loved it! Perfectly crispy and flavorful-highly recommended! I'm usually not a fan of gnocchi at all but this one was out of this world fantastic and would definitely order it again! The pesto flavor and texture was also perfectly creamy. Arancini were excellent, I personally felt a little more pomodoro would be nice, but is not necessary since the arancini have good flavor and seem to be super popular by the sheer amount of them coming out of the kitchen. The pesto balanced the arancini well. The Brussels are good, a little under seasoned (I did not taste hot honey nor the yuzu aioli on any of the pieces I tried) but cooked well and the pecorino is lovely shaved. My meal, agnolotti piedmontese, was excellent. The beef inside was so tender, pasta cooked well, and the butter and cheese, finished with a potato crumb, was absolutely stunning. My husband had the pollo trevisano. The chicken was ok, was pretty bland, the only seasoning being salt, which came from the prosciutto, and the butter herb sauce, which seemed to lack any real depth. The mash was excellent. Also came with some broccolini on the side which was cooked perfectly. My grandmother got the octopus appetizer for her meal. The octopus leg was chewy/overcooked. On the flip side, the potatoes with bacon were delicious. The arugula was well flavored. Overall was the most disappointing part of the meal, barely ate the octopus that she was so excited for. My grandfather got an excellent rigatoni dish that I cannot recall the name of, and their website is currently not up to date with what their in house menu is so I do not know the name. I did not try it myself but It has veal, and either kale/cabbage leaves or some interestingly large spinach, as well as a delicious sauce. The veal was amazing, he raved about it endlessly and shared that dish with my grandmother. To end our meals, my grandparents split an Affogato, and I got a coconut and banana panna cotta. My husband was full from dinner and did not indulge on dessert. Service: 5/5 Between our server and the other staff keeping our drinks full, table bussed and reset, and the timely service, it was an excellent occasion. Our server did an awesome job checking on refills of wine. Ambiance: 5/5 Absolutely adorable corner location right on Erie and Howard. They have awesome seating, tables, and lighting. The tvs play old sitcoms. There are umbrellas hanging from the ceiling, that may seem silly at first, but seem to divert the AC/heating from blowing directly on their customers, which is a lovely touch. I've never seen any other restaurant do something like that to keep their customers comfortable, I applaud it. Overall, a great experience with decent food. If we decide to venture back, we will have to try the pizza, get some more arancini, and try some other dishes.
