Odd, as we were not in festive dress, but it was my partners birthday! He was cutting some amazing ribeye, and that's what we were looking for--he said he got us, and wow. Take a look at those steaks! Selection is good! But, a small place can't be expected to have 100s of items, but everything is carefully chosen and fresh. I'll be back for those oxtails for sure! Also, there was a very wonderful lady there with her fresh baked goods, not sure if that's a regular thing or or a pop up, but shout out to the strawberry pound cake. This is now going to be our regular spot for great meats! As far as price goes, I would say competitive with Gartner's and even some groceries, but this place is special, so you get what you pay for. Oh, and there's a big parking lot in the back, which is great on the busy street.

So tender and flavorful, it's delicious if you get it in a bento box (from the bento truck out front) or if you buy the uncooked meat in the butcher shop area to prepare at home. They have several other offerings - pork, chicken, ribs, seafood - in a variety of marinates, but this is what I always get. It's that good. Parking is challenging if you come during the noon hour. I'm typically there mid day so never have a problem finding a spot.

Their menu seems simple but everything we have had has been great. A small indoor space but they also have outdoor seating. The staff is always kind and helpful it's like doing to a neighborhood deli you've been visiting your whole life. Nothing pretentious about it, just quality ingredients done right. Their sammys are made with house-baked bread...so good. I have heard the breakfast burritos is good but I can't tear myself away from that ham and cheese with egg on a perfectly fresh, pillowy bun. Give it a try if you're in the mood for something fresh and not too heavy. Also they have a great hot sauce selection.

Sure, you're going to spend more for higher quality meat that's sourced locally, but to me it's worth having meat a little less frequently to have it be higher quality when we do. Not only were we able to get a wide variety of meats and cuts, but they also had some cool specialty things like pork schnitzel that isn't there all the time but definitely grab it if they do!! Everyone there is so nice and willing to make suggestions or answer questions, and their retail area also has some cool stuff. We were able to snag a magnetic knife rack for our new kitchen and not only is it beautiful, but it works amazing too! Can't recommend these guys enough!

Be aware that parking is tricky. There's a bus stop directly in front of the store and there's only one spot in their parking lat and it's only for vehicles needing wheelchair accessibly. I did have to drop it down a star as the food didn't feel very filling for the price and the music/vibe of the place felt off for having come by around 5/6pm. I have been on a Reuben kick, and the best remains at Goose Hallow. But this was a close second, as it was great. I had a half sandwich, and I am glad I did, as it was quite enough. I had the Monsignor Murphy, which featured lots of House Made Pastrami, Swiss Cheese, Sauerkraut and Russian Dressing. I typically like a Reuben on marbled rye, as they served it on a Griddled Como Bread...and it was great. I didn't get her name at the order counter, but she was so friendly and engaging as well. Since this was my first time to the restaurant, she was able to provide me with a wealth of information. I will be back...and you can count on that.

been getting recommended this place for quite some time now and i finally went and was surprised at…read morehow terrible it was given the price point...2 stars for the service our server was very kind and wanted to make sure we had the best experience but not much can be done with how mediocre the food was considering it's price point. we made our first mistake by getting the caesar salad and not reading closely that it was BITTER lettuce, so read closely. we ate as much as we could handle of it and then just left it alone. we didnt mention anything because that mistake was on us. for steak, my girlfriend got the ribeye, which is what i was recommended to us by other people, and i got the wagyu teres major. a quarter of the ribeye was inedible because it was burnt but we gave it grace considering it's ribeye and hard to grill evenly. the wagyu however was just bad, it was also too charred and taste very burnt. We did end up sending it back (which i hate doing) and got it redone adding another 10isj minutes of waiting on top of our already pretty long wait (but again it was busy so we didnt rlly care much for the wait) but i did get full off of the sides by the time the redo came out The redo definitely tasted alot better, it didnt taste burnt which was good but in general didnt really have much flavor. I will say the potatoes were good, bell peppers were okay, unfortunately nothing was great....we ended up spending around ~$210 for two people for a meal that really did not satisfy either of us, we'll maybe give it another try on a less busy day but it was rough considering this was also our anniversary dinner
