A local hero for sure. We were traveling through when our vehicle broke. The key would not go into the ignition and we were stranded. My husband attempted to fix it himself but called Nichols where they assured him they would help at any phase of the project and there was nothing they couldn't fix. These people went into a property that I am renting and change the locks. Rens paid up they were told that I was still living there the landlords told them it was a vacant house I let the company know that it wasn't. They assured me that the locks would not be changed and yet they were still at my house for 45 minutes after that phone call and for some reason my locks have been changed. I would not use these people for all the money in the world they are crooked and and break the law. They will be named in a lawsuit read more

Locked myself out of my car, hubby was gone with my spare key 5 hours away. Locked my phone and cat in the running car and I was stressing out. Luckily my Apple Watch saved the day so I could call hubby and he searched locksmiths in the area. Got ahold of Nichols for me and called. Very reasonably priced and was to my (and my cat's) rescue within 10-15 minutes. Didn't get the guys name, but he was very nice and got the job done within 30 seconds. Was looking for a spare key for my vehicle I give this company a call and when I asked for a price and seem like I was bothering them like they didn't have time for me anyways waiting on my phone for like four minutes they said they didn't have the key and was on able to help me I asked if they can order them they said no and didn't have anybody available until Monday oh and I forgot to mention in the very beginning a kid answered the phone which is really weird anyways I would never contact this company again complete waste of my time read more

I've never actually used their services but one time I was driving and one of their vans cut me off. We both entered into the same plaza and the guy took 2 parking spots, he literally parked on one of the lines. My partner called the place to file a complaint and the guy who was driving the van answered the phone and when my partner told him what he had done he said it was because he had a kid with him and didnt want his kid to get hit. He then went on to tell us "if you got a fu**en problem deal with it, im the owner what the fu**are you gonna do". That's a disgusting way to talk to anyone let alone when you are representing a business. read more

My purse was stolen out of my car when I forgot and left it there. I then had to cancel all my cards in a rush as a thief went shopping to the tune of over $2,500 with my charge cards/ bank account. My keys were also in the purse. They were the only copy and I had to get a new set ASAP especially since the perpetrators might come back and steal my car once they realized the keys were in the purse they stole. I had no access to any cash obviously due to this crime in which I was a victim and asked if I could make other arrangments as I have money but all my accounts were frozen. "NO." I then called my parents in Texas (have no family in town) and asked them to pay for it and I could pay them back. They were gracious enough to be willing to use their credit card to pay and let me pay them back. But Nichols Lock & key refused to do the credit card sale remotely. They know they are the only ones in town so they feel no obligation to give good service. I finally realized my KIDS have cash and was able to come up with the cash by taking it from them and promising to pay them back. However, I was so annoyed with Nichols Lock & Key unwillingness to even TRY to help me that I decided I wasn't giving them my business and opted to pay the dealer MORE money the next day and just camp out and wait for the jerks to just try to come back an steal my car. I do not give business to people that do business in this way. They are in the business where my situation is probably common and they should be set up for it and have other options to pay. read more

Went to get a key fob programmed for a used vehicle I just bought. There were two people in front of me waiting to be helped and the guy at the counter seemed annoyed to have to help anyone including the "emergency" call that came in. He came out from behind the desk slamming things around each time he went in and out. When it was my turn I asked him to program the fob (with key attached), but not to cut the key so I could return all of it if it did not work. First thing he did was cut the key and then grabbed the computer to try to program the fob. Fob was not able to be programmed without some dealer code so he told me to get the code and come back. He tried to get my to pay $50 before I left so that it could just be programmed when I came back. He kept talking about the transponder in the key and I told him several times that it was old enough not to have a "transponder" in it. (The lady working there told him the same.) He kept telling me to pay for the programming I would have done at a later date. I refused to pay for "future service". In the end they didn't charge me for cutting the key, but I am now out $30 on returning the fob since he cut it when I asked him not to before it was programmed. The guy was not professional at all and actually made it more of a negative experience than it ever had to be. This is the 2nd time getting horrible service from Nichols. I'll be going elsewhere from now on. read more

The only thing we like about this place is it being conveniently placed a few blocks from our house. After doing business a few times here we will not be returning and have even had thoughts of reporting them to the BBB. The older woman behind the counter is extremely rude and her fellow employees didn't seem much better on Thursday morning. They seem to be more courteous to the older folks around Yuma. In example stopping in Thursday afternoon to mail a package was a hassle for us as she chatted with her friends for over 10 minutes about dinner plans while we waited in line. She asked the older man in front of us where he was sending his package and giving him a proper label even wrote the address as he told it to her. But on the two occasions we have been here before she has thrown a pen across her counter and had us write it which is no big deal but extremely rude. However this time my husband had written the address on a post it note and without any communication the woman grabbed our package demanding to know what we were sending and then taped the post it note to the package instead of giving us a proper shipping label, my husband mostly carries $20 bills and that was the end of the world for her she struggled to make change and even used pennies from her complimentary penny jar instead of giving us the proper change. And had us off with a have a good day with no other communication besides her side banter to her friends about their dinner plans. I can't imagine going to this business for actual lock and key needs and would tell anyone who can to rather wait in the post office line where someone will at least provide you with a proper shipping label since you are paying for it after all. Do business with them at your own risk. read more
