If you're someone who has dental anxiety, or you've put off going to the dentist for years because…read moreyou're scared, embarrassed, or worried about being judged, this review is for you. I had excellent dental care growing up until I was about 14, but I also had a traumatic experience as a child when I flipped over my bike, knocked several teeth out, and had to be strapped into a chair while a dentist worked on them. That experience stayed with me. After my parents divorced, going to the dentist stopped being a priority, and despite brushing my teeth every day, I avoided dental visits for years. Eventually, I started having tooth pain and assumed I had one bad tooth. It turned out I needed two root canals and multiple fillings. To say I was terrified would be an understatement. One of the biggest fears about returning to the dentist after a long time is the feeling that you'll be judged. Dr. French completely erased that fear. She has been nothing but kind, compassionate, and genuinely caring from day one. She's the type of person who instantly makes you feel comfortable, and honestly, she's just an incredibly cool person. The hygienists and the rest of the staff are just as wonderful. Every single person in the office is warm, welcoming, and makes you feel like they genuinely care about you. The office itself is beautiful and has such a calming atmosphere. Then there's the fear of pain. I can honestly say I experienced virtually none. Dr. French referred me to Dr. Baines at San Jose Endodontics for my root canals, and I couldn't have asked for a better referral. Both root canals were completely painless. They prescribed ibuprofen afterward, and I never even needed it. Back at Willow Glen Dental, I was also genuinely impressed by how much they've invested in technology. It's not just a beautiful office--it feels like they've made a real commitment to giving patients the best experience possible. After my root canals, they digitally scanned my teeth, designed my crowns, and milled them right there in the office. I took about an hour to an hour-and-a-half break, came back, and had both permanent crowns placed that same day. No temporary crowns. No waiting weeks. As someone who hadn't been to the dentist in years, I had no idea dentistry had come this far, and it made the entire process incredibly convenient. The same was true for my fillings and every other procedure I've had. Throughout every appointment, the team made sure I was comfortable, answered every question, and never rushed me. Yesterday I finished the restorative portion of my treatment plan after about a year and a half of care. Dr. French joked, "Last round!" and then laughed that I was probably tired of seeing them. I surprised myself with my response: "Honestly... I used to have really bad dental anxiety, and now I don't." And I truly meant it. That's one of the greatest gifts this office has given me. They didn't just fix my teeth--they completely changed how I feel about going to the dentist. I never thought I'd be someone who could walk into a dental appointment feeling relaxed, but that's exactly how I feel now. I've already recommended Willow Glen Dental and Dr. French to several friends, and I'll continue recommending them to anyone who asks. (Just don't book Dr. French too solid--I still need my appointments! ) As long as I live in the Bay Area, this is where I'll be coming for my dental care. Dr. French is nothing short of amazing. I don't know what kind of magic she works, but she's incredible. Thank you, Dr. French, Dr. Baines, and the entire Willow Glen Dental team for giving me back not only my smile, but my confidence and peace of mind. 10/10. I couldn't recommend them more highly.

Dr. Annie and the entire staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Dr. Annie checked in with me throughout the entire process, which made a huge difference. The extractions were surprisingly fast! Each one took less than 5 minutes. The pain was completely manageable! Nothing like the horror stories I'd been told. The recovery was also very smooth with zero complications, and I've already scheduled a follow up to have the wisdom teeth on the other side done. I went back today for my follow up checkup and cleaning. I know my teeth were in rough shape after so many years. I can only imagine what she was dealing with. But all she said was, "Looks like you haven't been in for a cleaning in a while." That's it. No lecture, no judgment, just kindness. I really appreciated that more than I can say. For years, scary stories kept me away from the dentist, and that was a mistake. If I'd known how easy and welcoming it would be, I would have come here long ago.

He is very professional, efficient and extremely hard-working. I marvel at his ability to handle so many patients and with such detailed care. Dr. Takeuchi's staff is friendly and cheerful, always on top of things, and send out timely text reminders in advance of appointments. Just this morning, Dr. Takeuchi repaired an old filling and filled a small cavity (oops, more brushing, flossing and Water-Piking needed!). In March, I made an appointment for May 28th as a first time client. Shortly after scheduling, I received a text asking if I'd be interested in an opening sooner to which I replied yes. I provided my availability and stated I was flexible and could come most afternoons. I received a reply shortly after asking if I'd like to come the next day for a morning appt. Um no. I had already clearly stated I could do AFTERNOONS. Two weeks later I get a call and then a text asking if I'd like to be added to the "ASAP list". I thought I already was?! I was contacted AGAIN a few days later asking about my availability. How many times do I have to spell out I can come in the afternoons?! By this point, they're too much and I ask that they take me off the list. It's too much communication. I simply didn't want to be constantly bothered about their "ASAP list". It's really unacceptable that they canceled an appointment I waited almost 3 months for. I actually met Dr. Vafai as a child, before she even earned her DDS, and I've followed her throughout her different practices because I have complete confidence in both her expertise and appreciate the kind of person she is. Going to the dentist has never been my favorite thing, but Dr. Vafai has always made me feel comfortable and at ease. Last year, I began my Invisalign journey with Dr. Vafai and her amazing team. Every step of the process was explained thoroughly, and it was clear how knowledgeable and detail-oriented they are. Their professionalism and genuine care made the experience so easy and reassuring. From the moment you walk into the office and are greeted by Christie, you feel welcomed and supported. I've worked with Daisy, Dr. Vafai's dental assistant, for years, and I genuinely enjoy seeing her at every visit. She is incredibly knowledgeable and always takes the time to explain each step of the process, so I know exactly what to expect. There are other hygienists at her office I have worked with as well and enjoyed my experience. After Invisalign, I decided to move forward with veneers because I had complete confidence in Dr. Vafai and her team. My biggest fear was ending up with bulky, fake-looking teeth, but I knew I could trust Dr. Vafai's skill and attention to detail. When I called to ask for an exception, I was promised a callback. No callback came. Another collections notice did, though. Called again, went back and forth with the accounting manager, I offered to send a screenshot proving no call had ever been made to me. Total indifference and saying they had records a call was made. The care used to be genuinely great, which makes this all the more disappointing. The vibe here has changed, and not for the better. It's a real shame.
