A great haircut done fast, friendly, and for only a few bucks. I don't need/want wine and a massage with my haircut, so this place was perfect. Nice Studio - Easy fade with a bit off the top - Hair Stylists Near Me - San Francisco, California

If you want a no nonsense haircut you can come to nice studio. I needed a trim and I couldn't bring myself to go to a salon and pay $75 dollars. This is my third time here and you would be surprised for a place close to Union Square it's pretty decent. Call ahead to schedule an appointment. SK cut my hair she did a great job and made sure to cut off all the dry hair. I came in with my hair wet already and after she cut my hair she didn't blow dry it. So for a simple hair cut I was happy to pay $16. I would come here again! read more

Jici always does an incredible job! she is so fast yet accurate. I always show a photo reference and she hits it spot on. The price is unbeatable in the city too. Support this great stylist and tenderloin business!! read more

Great for a quick trim. Esque did a great job! $14 for a man's haircut! Definitely worth it. read more

Nice studio was pretty decent but dont expect anything fancy! I have thick Asian hair, it's super easy to cut, and i never think my $90 Noe Valley haircuts are worth it (unless I'm getting my hair colored). So i took a leap. For $16 (plus tip), my hair looks pretty great! I asked her to give me more volume and thin it out a bit and that's exactly what she did. Jesse was funny and nice. In and out in 40 minutes, went home, washed my own hair, and couldn't be more happy! I would definitely do it again. read more

I was looking for a reasonable price, a quick good haircut and I'm glad I found it! Jici is very friendly, professional and only cost$14 for a cut. I made a call without waiting. I'd love to come back. read more

See all

I've been getting my haircut by Jesse, a fun & charismatic shanghainese lady/owner, who will have me coming back for many years to come. Not only does she give a great haircut but she's also got a great personality to boot. At my old studio I always had to wait at least 30 minutes.. when Jesse sees me come in the door she always has me seated in her chair within 15 minutes. read more

Such a fast and well done haircut! I'm so glad they were open on Sundays and took me as a walk-in. It was only $14 too! Will be back for sure. read more

Ok, I didnt have high expectations going there. I was staying at a hotel nearby and that was the only salon open on a monday. The reviews here were decent. So here I went, as I saw yelpers getting a shampoo, hair cut and blowfly for 23$. Here I come and see this friendly welcoming lady who's telling me $28 when I ask for a shampoo, hair cut and blowdry. Sounds good, getting in the shampoo chair, it is old and not so clean, I get my strong shampooing session. Dont expect anything relaxing there, it is a rough moment. After that the lady put this black cape on me that was covered with grey and white hair! Alright, I am saying nothing... and hope the haircut will be fine. Finally after the haircut, the lady tells me she's going to dry my hair because it's cold outside, too generous of you!! And shes not using any product, just messing my hair with her hand while.drying it. So I said we had agreed on blowdry then she says no, that blowdry is expensive, then that it is not worth it for my hair, that my hair is too dry. So, now she's making me feel bad for the way my hair looks (which I usually get compliments for!) So I finally had enough and got up and said I would finish on my own at the hotel. Paid the $28 and left. Still leaving 3 stars because my goal was to have a simple trim, which I did. It was not messed up. I was not personally insulted and the lady didnt mean to be rude... so, now you can go with an educated mind! read more

Went here today with my boyfriend who got a haircut. The stylist was friendly and fast and gave him a great cut based on a photo we had. We were definitely happy with the results and it only cost $12, without a shampoo. I'm sure we'll be back. read more

Good place to go if you need a cheap trim ($16 bucks), but she added in a long layer that I didn't ask for. It's okay because I don't mind it but keep in mind you might want to make it clear that you don't want layers multiple times. (I think I told her keep my style as is) read more

Come here often for my haircuts. Affordable and convenient. They have always been available and I have never had to wait. The place looks a little divey and from the outside you might not give it a second look. It's location is the only reason I did not give 5 stars. I have always liked the hair cuts I get there as I am always looking for the best priced haircuts and do not go to only one person although that may change. - a happy customer read more

Walked in on Sunday at 11 am, told her I wanted a #1 on the side and a half-inch off the top and got exactly that. Did a nice job cleaning up my sideburns as well and making sure everything was even. I will definitely go again. read more

Dropped in and everyone was wonderful. I had super long thick asian lady hair and chopped it off and they were great about adding layers how i wanted. Plus it was only $16 - in the middle of SF! Amazing. read more

There's a good haircut for ten dollars ($10.) For the inexpensive haircut I tolerated the television which is not hooked up yet to cable. The place was clean, wheelchair accessible and JICI was a very nice hair stylist. read more

I'm always happy with the haircut I get here, and always happy with the low price. Bonus that it is a five minute walk from my apartment, and stays open until 7:00pm on weekends. read more

It seems that the hair stylist whom we liked is not working there any longer or we are just unlucky. Haircut my son got Was not what he wanted. She shaved off his his hair too much. We'll look for other place for next time. read more

I was in SF for the weekend for a big event, and decided at the last minute that I wanted a blow out. Everyone else in the area was either closed on Sunday or booked up. I am soooooo lucky I found Nice Studio on 800 Geary St! They treated me like a QUEEN. My wash/condition and blowout was gorgeous and the price was super reasonable (especially for my long, thick hair). These people are so lovely. I will definitely go again when I am in town! read more

Good place for a budget haircut. At the time of this writing she charged $12, far less than the other "cheap" places that charge $18-20. Price is right, with a big tip you will still end up paying about the same as the other places are, just out the door w/ tip included. When I got there, one person was there ahead of me, already in the chair. Took maybe 10 minutes and he was done. She asked how I wanted it cut (little communication error here, but I believe that was my fault) but it ended up working out. No hairs sticking out, cut nice and clean, she even goes over all the touchup stuff at the end again (though she does it quite well the first two times around). So I am going to compare this to some $80-200 haircut with a stylist and whatnot, but for a simple cut this is the place to go. WAY better than the others in the under $20 range, and even comparable/sometimes better with those folks that charge $20-40 for a cut (with the exception being that those higher end places might have newer furniture for you to look at if you count that as a pro). Bottomline: Perfect for a good yet budget priced haircut, and also great for when there seems to be no appointments available anywhere. Just walk in, its gonna be under 30 minutes. OR make an appointment. Either way if you have a flight out of SFO at 8 am on a Monday and need your hair to look fresh, its no problem if you left it up until 2pm on a Sunday with no appointment/idea where to go. Big Bonus - They accept Credit Cards, which is sort of rare for the ultra-budget hair studio. read more

In town for a bit so I went here out of desperation since I couldn't find a great clips. Not sure who cut my hair but she was great. For $12 I got way more than I expected. She definitely treated my hair a lot different than most hairstylists and she told me it was because my hair was thick. She gave it a very natural look and I love it! Some parts are awkwardly long. But I'm very happy read more

($12) Cheap haircut in the heart of San Francisco. The owner Jici is very friendly, and happily sees walk-ins.

5 stars. I went in knowing I wanted a trim, with layers and some bangs and got exactly that. Plus some hair advice! This is a great place for a cheap haircut! Wash, haircut, blowdry for $23 bucks. Not bad considering many places in the area would easily charge $60-120. I got the cut from the owner, a super nice lady who speaks pretty good English and who definitely knows what she's doing with hair. I will definitely be back again. read more

I came for a quick haircut while driving through San Francisco and it only took 30 minutes. My haircut cost $16 and she trimmed an inch and added long layers. read more

Super cheap haircut. Very nice stylist. Open on Sundays! Can't say enough good things.

I had the best haircut just now. She's so amazing with her experience n such a sweet lady. It's more than worth the price.

I have almost tried every hair salon in San Francisco, but this place is definitely the most impressive. I am very satisfied with the quality of the haircut. the price per haircut is $12, but it is much better than some $30-$40 places that I have tried in the past. I recommend you to give it a try. You will like the haircut you get there. read more

I've been searching for a good cut at a good price for the last few years now. I've tried dozens of places. This is the one I now keep coming back to. If you haven't been, it's definitely worth the $14 to try it out. Being able to walk in and not make an appointment is always a plus too. I usually get a low fade with scissor cut on top. Never had any problems. read more

Today I just got back from my fourth or fifth visit here. I'm giving it 4 stars and not 5, only because the last place I used to go to (in Alameda) was so great. Honestly, the haircuts here are pretty good- and a bargain at $10. I originally found this place on Yelp, listed as "Studio 800 Salon" and it had good reviews. Today when I grabbed a business card- I did see it is actually named "Nice Studio". Anyway, I originally chose this place because a) it was close to where I live b) it had some good reviews and c) because it is in the Little Saigon and I hoped to find out that Vietnamese hairstylists will all throw in a head/neck massage- like the lady at my last place in Alameda did. No such luck- and that's the only reason they don't get 5 stars. In any case, Jici, the woman who cuts my hair is very nice and does a great job with the haircut. I'd ask her for the massage- but don't want to get slapped in case there's any misunderstanding :-) read more

Been going here for a long time - great value for $14 and rarely a wait. The hairdressers pay close attention and are friendly!

I have been going to Jessie's place now for 4 years. That is a long time for me. She cuts hair well and if you want you can also practice your mandarin with her while you are getting your hair cut. For me as good as it gets. read more
