Let me be clear...I am not one for making reviews ever, so this is really an exception. I just moved to Kingsburg, so I thought I'd try a place closer to home.
After waiting 35 minutes to be seen (I did have an appointment btw), I was greeted by the man who I believe is the co-owner. He sat down to start my pedicure. My nails were hardly cleaned, they were cut down in different angles and lengths, and the gel polish was applied poorly. The gel pedicure was far from what I expected. I honestly wish I had more closely inspected my toes right then and there because unfortunately he was the one about to perform my acrylic fill. Had I not been in need (it had been over a month since my last fill and pedi, so they were really grown out), I should have left. Well the fill was going somewhat ok, I came in with coffin cut nails and he did them square. He never asked, but I've done square before, so I let it ride. Then when it came time for the gel polish, he dabbed the polish on. Even after telling him that it didn't look smooth, he said "don't worry I'm still not finished," ...the polish never got better. He painted all the way back over my cuticles and it looked bumpy all over every nail. The shiny top coat couldn't hide the bumpy texture of the gel polish. It made my nails look thick and lumpy. Needless to say, I was really unsatisfied with the appearance of my nails.
While I was there, women kept coming in, so I've got to assume that the women working there must have been better.
I was so disappointed and embarrassed by how terrible my nails looked. I ended up driving all the way to Hanford to get my nails done by someone I knew would do them beautifully and she did, thank goodness.
So much for trying a salon closer to home.
Please do not under any circumstances let this man touch your nails. It was such a waste of time and money that I regret. read more
