If you have curly hair, be extra clear about what you'd like. The cut I received was okay overall, but unfortunately it ended up much shorter than I would have liked. I went from almost couple of inches from my hips to about 2-4 inches below my shoulders. From the first snip, it was shorter than I would have liked and on top of that, my curly hair was brushed out, which is always frustrating because it doesn't ever turn out good when that happens. The ladies were nice and I'm not trying to go out of my way to speak poorly on anyone, but I struggle to speak up during these kind of experiences (hence why I end up going to salons every few years). great service! walked in on a saturday and kimmy seated me right away. I was looking for a good wash and blowdry but every salon was 85$+ and I have curly hair so its usually ends up being more. I just happened to be shopping in the area and saw they had a 40$ wash and blowdry so I couldnt pass that up. Kimmy is so sweet and works fast, she did a great job on my blow dry and I would definitely go back. The total ended up being 50$ which is more than reasonable, highly recommend! read more

I asked for an "A-line bob" and this lady went extreme wth. An "A-line bob" is slightly long on the sides of the face and a tad short in the back giving an overall angular look, but it's very subtle. C'mon every hairdresser should know this, it's not new. The hair in the back shouldn't go too high up that the hair is shaved above the neckline! I have no words for this. She made me bald in the back! Do NOT let someone named "Kimmie" go anywhere near your hair. Where in the world did she get her training from anyway? My hair is now completely bald back there. I've been covering it up with a scarf until it grows out, and it's way too hot out to be wearing a scarf! Will I have to wear a scarf to cover it up for a month? I went here because my usual barber a few units down wasnt open yet and I was on a time crunch because I have a wedding. So I decided to go here. Haircut was fine, it wasn't a hard ask. She had me out of the chair in 15 mins and then when I tipped half card half cash, she shamelessly asked for more and inputted another dollar than what I told her I'd tip into the machine. It's a dollar so I just agreed but asking for a better tip when I already gave a decent tip is very off putting. Needless to say I will not be coming back, even on a time crunch. read more

Worse haircut I had in my life. I asked for a short trim to make my hair even, instead she chopped off half an inch on the sides and nothing on top. The "barber" cut my hair in five minutes and charged me $30 with tip. She did not use her hands to measure my hair but instead just chopped with the scissors and a comb. You are better off letting a blind person cut your hair. My hair was all uneven and I had to recut it myself at home with my clippers. Stay away from this business. Just got a 2" trim. Cut way more than desired off. The business owner I strongly believe was the person that cut my hair. Wearing a mask, sniffling and couldn't speak well. Had a very scratchy throat and voice after she started working in me. Asked if I wanted my sideburns taken off, I replied yes. She continued to cut over an inch above the sideburn and shaved the side of my head. Asked me for a tip after I voiced my frustrations too. Told me that an inch above my ear was my sideburns to which I replied no it is not. She thought I would be dumb and accept this. I paid and then asked for a refund after looking closer and seeing so so many mistakes and unevenness. I got my refund and now I basically need a complete new haircut and look. Completely unacceptable and unprofessional business owner and stylist. Do not support this kind of undisciplined and unprofessional work. This ruined my entire look and that's what keeps me employed. The hairdresser that cut my hair was not very professional, and she has a poor English which I don't mind, but because of miscommunication she didn't understand my preferred hairstyle. After re-explaning, she did it, but because a new customer came in, she started to hurry up and it became a bit tense, making the process feel like being processed in a haircut factory line. At the end, she carelessly asked for a tip, saying it's compulsory to give 18%. It seems that their POS machine requires to input the tip amount beforehand, but still it felt manipulative from her side. Specifically for a simple men's haircut, this place is great for $20 dollars in the city. If you need a hard part and a very specific way you'd like your fade (high, taper, etc) then go to Debonair down the street for $40 dollars. Otherwise, if all you need is an inch off the top and a #3 on the the sides with round edges then you're fine here. Also, tip your barber or hairdresser; Its customary everywhere. I got the worst hair cut I've ever gotten in my life here from Kim. Most of you won't read this because it's too long, but don't say I didn't tell you so when you're looking at yourself in the mirror wondering who it is that is staring back at you. All I wanted were my bangs to be cut straight across, right above my eyebrows. They were a little grown out so all she had to do was trim them. She left large chunks untrimmed and pushed them to the side, but the way my hair falls naturally, they just hang like two fangs on a saber tooth tiger. I have to keep pushing them back out of my eyes. I guess I could just leave them there and pretend I'm going for some kind of high fashion look. But I'm not. I have a cowlick and she chopped it all the way to the root, so now it's just 1/8 inch long and will be horrendous to grow out. They are incredibly uneven. I have one mountain and one valley, not the simple plateau I asked for. And on top of it all, she trimmed them so far to the sides that it looks like I got lines buzzed into my head, like at those trendy barber shops in the Fillmore. But once again, not the look I'm going for. I wanted them to just rest above my eyebrow but instead, they're so short they look like they are running from my eyebrows back into my skull. I took my daughter home and my wife had to redo the cut, through tears, because it looks like a flock of angry birds attacked my four-year-old. I'd post pictures, but I don't want to frighten you. Never take your children here. Not if you care what they look like. I'm not sure if the people who work here are trained to cut hair or prune shrubbery, but I'm not sure I'd trust them to do either one. If you go in to have a hair cut with a good attitude, then you'll be pleasantly surprised on how well your hair cut experience turns out. I've always had a consistent hair cut and have had the cutters communicate to me along the way on how my hair should be, not a problem. They don't try to create a jennifer aniston look or brad pitt look if that 's not what your going for. Give this business a break. Hidden gem . For real . Out of all the places in the city these ladies get it right. I have paid lots of money at places in the city over the years. I've been coming here only the last few years. I get my hair cut and colored and it's always perfect. They listen ! Kim and Kimmy both have done great job. Also cut my kids hair and get it right! I have thinner hair after having my son and until these ladies it's been a struggle finding someone even paying hundreds of dollars that can keep it simple if that makes sense. Bloody Cuts! Do NOT trust them with your kid's hair. I took my three year old daughter to this place to get an easy straight cut. Five minutes later, her hair looked terrible. It was so badly done that my wife told me to go back the next day to get it fixed. The "fixing" was done with an electric razor (!) while my daughter was standing (!!) and to even out the cut the hair dresser forced her head to the side and pressed the blade against my daughters neck repeatedly. The result: Bloody scratches all over her neck. Stay away. Just stay away. Unless you want a fitting look for Halloween. They really do not know their business. read more

Super sweet girl - spend about 30 minutes with her each time and we hardly understand any of our conversation, but it seems very kind and well intentioned nevertheless so we chat along not understanding anything - but smiling. I think we have a crush on each other. She gives a good cut, and takes her time each step of the way to make sure you are happy with it. Then the massage is a bonus extra, but she can't do it if the boss is around from what I gather. I've often thought while sitting in here that it would be a good place to pick up the right girl. I've seen some cute onces come in, and what Man wouldn't agree that any chick that looks good and is fine with a $15 haircut is the bomb. There is just something so great seeing girls who have come to the conclusion that paying $130 in a trendy salon is not what makes them attractive. I have been coming here for a year and a half and don't think I will be again. I moved away to the Inner Richmond and passed up going to other salons. Today I ran here with $20 in my pocket because it always comes out to $18 and I leave a $2 tip, and don't like running around with extra cash in my pocket (I've been mugged, and when I'm not it gets sweaty). After a pleasant cut I learned prices were raised to $20 on March 1st. Okay, I understand. I forked over my $20 and explained I'd have to leave a tip next time as I just learned about the increase.
