Terrible does not accurately describe my experience. So much for the Christmas present. Two Emails, at least twenty attempted phone calls. Created an account and saw that 12/10 status was "product backordered and should ship within 4-5 days" (status remains the same on 12/29 which is processing but will not let me cancel the order). One of the things I enjoy most about traveling for business is that I get a chance to visit some really great places along the way. The Nice Ash Cigar and Lounge is certainly one of them. This week I had a few hours to kill before my departure flight out of Buffalo and decided to Yelp "Cigar Lounges" near the airport to see what was around. Seeing that The Nice Ash Cigar and Lounge was only a few miles from BUF, I decided to go and give it a look...I'm glad I did. I walked in and was greeted by the manager Greg Corbi who led me through their really well-stocked humidor. If there's such a thing as a sommelier of cigars, Greg is certainly one of them. The guy knows his trade well and took the time to understand what I enjoyed in a good cigar first, then recommended some really good suggestions for me to consider (including some of his killer fresh Gregorio hand rolls...you gotta try them). After selecting a few new sticks, Greg invited me to kick back in their really comfortable lounge and enjoy a bit of quiet time before my flight out. Overall; an awesome shop and experience that I highly recommend if you're in the area. It's definitely on my rotation going forward. Really liked this place. Came into town for a cigar festival which got cancelled, but if you know me, I'm goin anyway. The franchise that had sponsored the event had a few locations, didn't enjoy my visit there. This place however, large selection, everything in stock, helpful staff, and even other customers were helpful. Nice lounge which you can visit for a $10 fee and cigar purchase, worth it. Stuffed leather chairs, tv's , pool table, poker table. Soda machine, I spent an hour here. Understand they also have events, and a store in Warren, PA with a microbrewery. Can't wait to visit. Drove by here once, and cracked up at the name, I'm sure a good cigar brainstorming session was to thank! Nice Ash is located at the end of a plaza, and is very easy to miss it. Well, DON"T! One of the better cigar joints in the B-lo. I had driven back from downtown only to quickly stop in to buy some wedding cigars. The staff asked the vital questions: the preferred body of the cigar, the desired size, and the cost I was looking to spend. He was able to give me several options, and the differences in each. I was looking to get quite the quantity, so quality was important, but ultimately price is what it comes down to. I decided on a dominican cigar that the staff mentioned he has brought to weddings (always a good to thing to note, what the cigar shop employee brings to his events). The huge humidor room had lots to offer, but I just didn't get a chance to actually look around, since I was in a rush. I did get a chance to peek into their lounge area, and I've marked that as a must-return to smoke a cigar while in there! Yeah, yeah...don't judge me. I quit smoking cigarettes 5 months and 5 days ago. That in itself was a HUGE milestone for my life. About two months ago, my wife and I went camping in the middle of Nowhere, MI. with some friends and I get turned on to [queue music]: CIGARS. Whilst I stand behind the mantra "But I didn't inhale!!", I really didn't. I truly enjoyed my cherry-poppin experience along side a few choice alcoholic beverages. Ahh.... Ahem.. enough of my past. I was a little reserved walking into Nice Ash. I have to admit, i did not know what to expect. Will I be surrounded by walls of cigars and more questions than answers? Walk out of the joint thinking "what the hell did I just do?" What I got was Kelsey. A super-cool person who, after explaining that I was a complete cigar noob, she was extremely knowledgeable and really down to earth. You totally hit it out of the park with her. She totally made this an easy experience. One that I will not soon forget. I told her about the "Acid Blondie" which was my maiden voyage cigar. She took me right to where they were and educated me on the different ones. One down. I LOVE coffee. Her number two suggestion was the Isla del Sol. Now for the last. This one took me down to southern Florida where a dude was rolling cigars under a sign touting "Hand-rolled Cuban cigars". Without thinking, like Curious George, "Are you from Cuba?", comes out of my mouth. His bloodshot eyes look up at me as I was thinking that was the dumbest thing I could ever say and then he smiled... I didn't feel so bad... Kelsey then told me about the hand-rolled "Gregorio" That sealed it. I walk out a very happy man ready for my weekend to start. My goto local place for cigars. The staff has always been super helpful and friendly. Great selection of smokes and accessories.

Wrong picture on website, ordered anyway because model number was right (humidor), left message to double check order and picture, 3 messages and no return call, finally reached manager who said they had mistakenly cancelled the order. 2. Ordered 3 day express, charged me for 3 day express then shipped ground. No email item had shipped and no tracking number provided. 3. Left message to either upgrade shipping or issue refund, no return call or emails. read more

They may the cat's whiskers as a walk-in establishment, but online is another matter. I ordered four boxes of a certain premium cigar but only received two boxes. No explanation, so I emailed back to find out what happened and only then did they state these were on backorder. Over two months went by with no further response or my cigars, so I emailed them again to see how things were coming along. After two weeks, nary an answer. Maybe their keyboard is also on backorder. I've dealt with several online cigar establishments over the years, but for customer service this ranks at or near the bottom of the (ash) heap. Never again. Nice Ash is more than a smoke shop, or place to buy a cigar. It's Lounge is the nicest I have ever seen. The people that meet up at the Lounge are truly a melting pot of young, old and allot of in between. They have special events several times a month and have a great selection of pipe tobacco and Hooka' supplies. They now have a "hand rolled" cigar aficionado on staff. I purchased a Xikar lighter for $60. A few months after purchase it would not light. When I took it back, the employee on staff said that she would send it out for repair. If it could not be repaired, she would ask the owner for a free one...seeing that it was under a lifetime warranty. I filled out the paperwork she asked and left. I waited several months before returning to ask about it. At that time, a different person was working. There was no sign of my lighter, my paperwork or the owner to ask. The worker gave me his card and told me to return when the owner was In. I returned and spoke with the owner. With a stone face he told me that since there was no paperwork and no history of me bringing it in for service, I was out of luck and he wouldn't do anything. Chizzler. Great humidor, visually appealing, good selection. So why the two stars? That's easy, I'm here from out of town and wanted to purchase and smoke a cigar. I placed my (overpriced) $15 cigar on the counter and asked if it was okay to smoke. The gentleman behind the counter says that it will be a $10 day use fee! Come on man! I could see if I was bringing in my own cigars, but I was buying from you and will to pay the extra $2 you were charging for the cigar. I will go to Virgil's whenever I'm in town. read more

Their website claims uncompromised customer service, but this could not be further from the truth. Any time I have ordered from here or their sister website, Egars, I have had nothing but trouble. For example, if you place an order for an item that is back ordered either by phone or internet, you will not be told that your items are back order, only after you call because your order has not shown up will you be told of the back order. The last order I placed, even though the items were in stock, my order never shipped. When I called to find out what was going on, the guy that took the order blamed the shipping department, but I could tell by what he was saying, it was his fault and he was just passing blame to take the heat off of him. Even though they have some of the best cigars price on the web, they are not that good to deal with the poor customer service. I would rather pay a few dollars more for the better customer service and know my order will be shipping when someone says its going to. I have placed my last order with Nice Ash/Egars. I now use Atlantic Cigars,.Cigars International or Famous Smoke Shop for my web orders. They use real time inventory so you know if an item is in stock or not when you place your order and they ship and you receive your order when they say you will. read more

Great selection of fine cigars in all price ranges, with a knowledgeable staff to help both the expert and new stogie smoker find the right blend, size and strength you are after. Gregorio rolls his own blend and those sticks are a great smoke. All the familiar brands are in stock and many sticks you only will find here. If you like walking around a big humidor and taking the time to pick out some smokes, this place is definitely for you. The lounge has a strong following of members, and if you are a regular smoker it is a comfortable and relaxing place to smoke and hurl tall tales at each other. The occasional smoker may be put off by the single use fee to use the lounge, but it is something members pay an annual fee to use and a high end experience with two large flat screens and many comforts.
