Don came out first and gave me a free quote, which was awesome, because he knew exactly what furniture was there, where my carpet wrinkles are, etc. He emailed me written quotes with and without carpet cleaning (they recommend it to help the differently worn sections lay better) within a day. Don was super nice and very professional. When he came out and did the work, he (Steven, I think?) respected my house, putting down drop cloths and taking off his shoes. He was efficient and left me with shoe covers and spot cleaner. I liked these guys and would recommend them.

Zisty clean was able to fit me in very quickly and were friendly and professional. The deep cleaning was thorough and I appreciated that I was able to get the carpet and the rest of the house cleaned with the same company. After they left I did notice a few areas of floor and trim (mainly in the bathroom and laundry room) where some pet hair and gunk wasn't taken care of, but nothing too major. I don't have any previous experience with professional cleaners so I have nothing to compare to, but overall, I would recommend this service. *As an update, they did offer to come back and take care of the spots that were missed, which was appreciated.

I scheduled a new home clean + a few additional services for my 2 bedroom/2.5 bathroom townhome…read more I'll start with a few positives: We were quoted $550, which was less than national companies like Maid to Shine. Scheduling was easy to do online. They were available the next day, which was great because we recently moved & our home was not move-in ready, so we were excited to get the house clean before all of our things were moved in. The man who cleaned my home was incredibly kind. There was a language barrier, as he did not speak English, but he was so patient with me as I attempted to use Google Translate to communicate with him. I'm also a big fan of small businesses and love to support them whenever I can! The rest of my experience was terrible. I brought my concerns to Ignacio Moena, Operations/Scheduling Manager, who was at my house double-checking the work of his apprentice. As he was going through the house checking everything over, I could hear him stating, "Looks good" as he opened cabinets, the refrigerator, microwave, etc. I stated multiple services I paid for were either not done or not done well. For example, I paid for carpet cleaning & a carpet cleaning machine was not brought to my house. He initially said I did not order carpet cleaning, but after checking the order he apologized and said he and his apprentice would go get the carpet cleaner and return to clean the carpets. However, he made no mention of finishing the rest of the job. They quickly left and I called the company to file a complaint at 2:18PM. I was directed to speak with Mr. Moena. I told Mr. Moena that I would like to pay for the services I received from the apprentice, but would prefer they not return to my house due to an obvious difference in the standard of quality being provided and what I expected. He insisted on returning to finish the job, but because Mr. Moena had already double-checked the work of his apprentice and stated it "looked good," I continued to ask to pay for the services I received, not be charged for the rest, and us go our separate ways. It was clear our definitions of New Home Clean were different and I wanted to find another company to finish the job, while also paying them for the services they did provide. Mr. Moena said his boss would have to make that decision and he would have his boss call me. Avery Schlueter, the Director of Operations, called me at 2:31PM to discuss my concerns. I shared with Mr. Schlueter everything I had shared with Mr. Moena and again asked to pay for the services I was provided and to not be charged for the services I did not receive. I was told this was not an option - my options were let them come back and finish ("It will take them another 30 minutes") or I could cancel the service and pay $99 cancellation fee in addition to paying for the services that had already been provided. I expressed my concerns for the quality of work and when I'm quoted $550 for a New Home Clean, my home should look like no one has lived there. He stated I should never have been quoted $550 unless I said I had 9 bedroom home. Mr. Schlueter said his team would come back and finish the job and repeat the parts of the job that were not done well. After attempting again to reason with Mr. Schlueter (i.e., paying only for the services I received, parting ways, and not leaving a negative review), Mr. Schlueter's phone died and our conversation was cut off after 18 minutes. At 2:55PM, Mr. Moena and his apprentice were back at my house with the carpet cleaner. As I was going to get charged regardless, I let them in to clean the carpets. Mr. Moena stated that they were going to go over everything again. My husband was home at this point, so I let him handle the rest. Prior to them leaving, my husband went down the New Home Clean list (from their website) with them and asked them directly if they had completed each item on the list. At each item, Mr. Moena said it had been completed. It was again clear that their definition of New Home Clean was very different from ours & there were multiple items paid for that we did not receive. The best part, after being told there is no way I was quoted $550 unless I selected 9 bedrooms, Mr, Schlueter proceed to charge me as I was quoted. There were a few extra services I added that were already a part of the New Home Clean package, so he did remove those charges, but that's to be expected. My total was $500 for a terrible cleaning. I tried to be nice and pay for the services I got after the first round, even though they were mediocre at best. I even stated I would not leave a negative review if we could just part ways. Mr. Schlueter was incredibly unprofessional. So, here I am, hoping to prevent someone else from experiencing the frustration that comes with using this company. See the attached photos for yourself. I wish I had taken more. These were all taken after Mr. Moena and his apprentice left for the second time. Splurge for Maid to Shine.

He followed up with a confirmation call the day before to make sure that my schedule had not changed. He was extremely professional and courteous. He told me his tech Ralph would be the one coming to the house to do the work, so I had a name to go with a face prior to him getting here. Ralph and his co-worker arrived early for the job and got to work immediately. He explained everything that needed to be done and got my furniture and breakables moved with respect and caution. While doing the job, he should me how much debris was removed and I actually took a picture of how much came out of the ducts. It was amazing. He also explained how this buildup is not good for the furnace nor the home overall and that routine maintenance is key to making sure a home is healthy. The quote Mo provided me via e-mail was exactly what I paid as well. Overall, I was very happy with the service and work that was done and will be calling them again to have my ducts cleaned and when it comes time to have the carpet cleaned in my basement, they are #1 on my list to call.

New construction homes are notorious for having dirty and clogged ducts so we thought we better do it. I spoke to Moe who was very nice and gave me a reasonable quote over the phone. I decided to go ahead and schedule the duct cleaning for 2/12. However, Moe did not do the duct cleaning, it was his technician Ralph who came. Ralph was over an hour late but did call to tell me he was running behind. It seemed like he did a good job with the cleaning and when he was cleaning the furnace in the attic the smoke alarm even went off because there was so much dust coming off of it. Ralph did his thing and left when finished. When I went back to the house today (2/13) I took a harder look inside the vents and realized that one in particular still contained a lot of debris and the debris was flying out when I turned the heat on. I called Moe and he said he would definitely send Ralph back to take care of it. Ralph called me and was able to come back to the house within a couple of hours. He did some harder digging and low and behold...he pulls out a plastic water bottle from the duct! When the water bottle came out tons more debris followed! I'm very glad he came back and discovered the problem; but I think this should have been discovered the first time he cleaned. He also cleaned a vent/duct I pointed out that he missed the first time. When all is said and done, 1st Choice did a good job cleaning our ducts and furnaces and I would recommend them. Moe handled my issue properly and in a timely manner which I really do appreciate. Ralph did a good job but do point out where all your vents are so he doesn't miss any. I deducted a star because 1) Ralph was quite late for our appointment, and 2) he missed the water bottle the first time around.

When I first called Chem Dry, I had requested a quote for the cleaning of two rooms in my apartment…read morewith the concentrated effort on my living room. I was quoted $155 as a minimum charge and encouraged to schedule a date for carpet cleaning. I was told that I would receive the true estimate after a representative visited my home the same day as the cleaning. I asked for an estimate before the scheduled date so that I wouldn't be surprised by increased changes and forced into making an on the spot decision based on a potential higher price. The estimate date was scheduled. When Andrew from Chem Dry came over he was using his laser tool to accurately measure the square footage and we discussed the cleaning. The reality was, it would've been about one room and a third to clean just the carpets. I live on the first floor and showed him where other companies had accessed my apartment. He indicated there wouldn't be any issues with access and told me the estimate I would receive should be very much in line with the initial quote of $155 but maybe, just a little above. After confirming an actual time of the cleaning, I felt assured the quoted amount would be very close to the amount I heard both on the phone and by the in-person representative. Later that evening, I received the official estimate. It was 35% higher...over $200. Included was this "access fee" of $95 which I was never told about or told to expect! Truly a shock! When I called the Chem Dry offices to discuss the estimate, I was told by the manager that they have a higher cost of doing business, have already invested money in my job by nearly providing an estimate etc. I countered by stating what I was quoted, what I was told in person and reminded the manager of my limited square footage. I offered to increase my payment from the initial $155 to $175 (which was very generous considering the area to be cleaned). The manager decided to stick to his figure of over $200 and so, I declined the service. The caution I wish to provide is not to accept a same day estimate as the cleaning to avoid decision pressure and to ask about possible hidden/undisclosed costs before scheduling. I am very disappointed at their hidden/undisclosed costs that were never mentioned on the initial call or during the visit for the estimate. This was a waste of my time and Chem Dry is a company that I am now reluctant to recommend. Incidentally was able to schedule another national company that I've used before for 60% less.

After realizing it's never going to get better until I try something different, I put out about a dozen contacts for local cleaners. Most of them wouldn't work with my schedule or never called back. I heard back from Mary almost immediately, and she was so helpful and kind. We got the visit set up quickly and easily, laid out what everyone's expectations were, and they came a few days ago. They did an awesome job. My kitchen in particular was a disaster, and they made it look cleaner than when I moved in. My kids' bathroom was a mess too. They made it sparkle, while keeping the things the kids need accessible, which I really appreciated. They whipped my bathroom into shape too. I had reasonable expectations: I didn't expect them to get the whole place spotless (that's going to take some time and decluttering), but as soon as they were done with the cleaning, they called to let me know how it went and what their recommendations are for the rest of the place. They didn't judge, they just acknowledged that it would take a few visits and talked about the plan, which I love. I will be setting up a regular schedule with them, and I'll keep it even after the place is spotless - to keep it from being like it was: so messy that it was an embarrassment. So grateful for this team.
