So, this is not a cheap restaurant by any means given the kind of food being served - which makes sense considering this is literally a tourist trap like in the middle of the Niagara Falls amusement park. However, we chose to come here because we didn't want to just go to a Wendy's or another fast food chain we could get in the US. The pork ribs were actually amazing, and so was the mac n cheese like both were 20/10. However, the corn on the cob was literally a half cob, the food took forever to come out, service was a little sporadic because they seemed to be really busy, and now let me get to the burger. It was bad, like just plain bad. The patty was like some fake soy patty, and it was like literal individual pieces of ground beef not like a normal burger patty so texture was pretty awful. Due to its convenient location near our hotel--and the sampler vouchers we received--we chose to have dinner here. Our group ordered ribs, hamburgers, and sampled the whiskey and vodka offerings. Unfortunately, the ribs were underwhelming--mostly bone with little meat, and quite dry in both texture and flavor. Compared to other chain restaurants, I'd say they fell short--even Montana's just up the street serves better ribs. That said, the sides of mac and cheese and cornbread were enjoyable and well-prepared. The hamburger, on the other hand, was solid. It was generously sized with a nice, savory flavor. The fries were a good portion and came out hot, crispy, and thick--definitely a highlight. As for the alcohol sampler, it was a letdown. The voucher featured an enticing image of a proper flight, but what we received were tiny shot glasses with less than a quarter pour each. Stopped by Niagara Distillery on a Sunday for lunch. I was with a party of four. You can tell by the appearance of the dining room they just had a lunch rush. Took about 7 mins for us to be seated because the host had to clean off the table first. Our server was nice but not that attentive. She really played it safe with making food recommendations and allowed us to figure it out on our own. As a first time guest I didn't really like that. I asked questions about the menu but she remained neutral. So I ended up ordering the half rack ribs , fries and cole slaw. The food was subpar. Doubt I'll return. Please note Niagara Distillery and Billy Bones BBQ is one in the same. I think the focus here is more the alcoholic drinks and the food is just so you won't drink on an empty stomach. Was tired walking around Niagara and stopped here for a quick drink . Bar was a bit empty and got a seat . Restaurant was packed though. They also had space in 2nd floor which was similar to the setup below . Being a brewing company i was surprised they just had one IPA on tap. Others were just lagers or red ales .. Spring Break was more like Winter but we enjoyed taking the beaten path. Visiting Niagara Falls in the off season was very appreciated, calm and quiet. Once we walked over to the Canada side, we decided it was time to eat. Distillery BBQ was such a small and quaint spot to stop in. There was a live band playing and I always love the look of the stills in the background of Distilleries. The place became a little busy and it took our waitress a while to get to our table but she apologized and was very polite and attentive the remainder of our lunch. Oddly, I am not a fan of BBG so I decided to go with the classic burger, which had a hint of BBQ sauce and it was really good. The perfect amount for my palate. I got the impression from the time we walked in that this place is understaffed. They didn't have a host so several people were waiting to be noticed. A few families left. Our waitress was well meaning but spread too thin. The food and drinks took a long a long time to come out, even though I spotted my salad sitting there. The food was good. We came here for dinner on Sunday with our family of 4. (Two kids). Our host had so clean up our table before he sat us but then didn't dry it so it just didn't start well (cleaning smell). Our server was very kind and attentive but that was pretty much the only good thing. The kids menu Mac n cheese was typical. Our drinks were just ok and my wings were okay. My older son and husband ordered the brisket and I've never seen them look so disappointed. They could barely cut through it and chew it. Then I mentioned it to the hostess and she said oh yea it often takes 5-10 minutes. Then about five minutes later the table next to us was seated and within a minute had a server. I was livid! What a cute distillery right on the downtown strip of Niagra Falls! We sat out on their patio, and it was a little chilly so the waitress turned on the heaters for us. There was plenty of inside seating, and not busy at all on a Friday afternoon. The only downside is there is not parking right outside. You do have to park at one of the paid lots and then walk. Cocktails were delicious! Plenty to choose from. We just shared a few apps for food. Nachos were very good, my only complaint is that the wasn't very melted-would have made it a lot better! They advertise themselves as a BBQ place but their BBQ options were limited to half and full rack ribs. If you are looking for more BBQ options, I would not recommend this place. However, if you want BBQ ribs they were very tasty. I would give the food a 3.5 but the service a 1 star. The waitress did not seem to know what she was doing. There's a huge surcharge for the convenience of eating close to the falls, which would be acceptable if the food wasn't hot garbage. The serving of nachos is huge but tastes terrible. Low quality chips, toppings and they even use some sort of melted cheese whiz which is dreadful. The service was also impressively bad. This is one of those rare times for me where the terrible service massively outweighed the great food. We got a burger and chicken salad, the quality of the food was great. The service almost couldn't have been worse. The place was dead when we got there, started getting busy a little later. She walked by us about 10-15 while we ate(not exaggerating) and didn't look in our direction. Food took a very long time to come out. Probably 25ish minutes, but we had ordered before the place got busy, so our food was rang in well before the crowd's I'm the type that will not wave down my server for a water refill because if I need a refill, it's probably been 10-15 min since they were at the table and they need to come by and ask how the meal is. She never checked on the food, she came by when I had an empty water cup and half a burger left uneaten. Finally when she stopped by and asked how things were, I had to ask for a water. I recently had the misfortune of dining at Niagara Distillery and I can honestly say it was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a lackluster atmosphere that immediately set the tone for the evening. The staff seemed disinterested and almost annoyed that they had to serve us. Now, let's talk about the food. Or should I say, the lack thereof? The menu boasted a variety of options, but it was clear that the kitchen had no idea what they were doing. The appetizers arrived cold and tasted like they had been sitting out for hours. The main courses were no better - overcooked, bland, and lacking any semblance of creativity. It's as if they threw together random ingredients and hoped for the best. As for the service, it was an absolute disaster. Our server was nowhere to be found most of the time, and when we did manage to flag them down, they seemed annoyed by our presence. Our drinks were empty for the majority of the meal, and it took an eternity for our orders to be taken. And waited, and waited over 20 minutes before someone came to take our drink order. 2 Servers had said they wold be right with us during that wait- but "right with" wasn't right away at all. The food came out fast- saving grace & was good. They offer flights for a fee- and silly me thought our hotel coupon was for a flight- it wasn't, it was for a sample of one spirit. I went with rum, John tried the whiskey and neither wowed us. We have become quite the distillery hoppers over the years and sample with the thought of adding to our bar at home- so unfortunately we didn't feel compelled to buy a bottle here. We (my wife and I) visited at the end of August, and it was a very positive experience. Service was fairly quick, the staff were polite. The night we arrived there was no wait. Our waiter was even kind enough to take a few photos of us. The drinks, were fantastic. Delicious and flavorful, and not overly sweet. For dinner, I think my wife got a cheeseburger, she enjoyed it as it was quite juicy and flavorful. I opted for the pit master poutine. I didn't have a large appetite, it's a listed 'shareables' so I had it as a meal. Poutine with bbq brisket. I'm going back to Massachusetts, no one makes poutine so I get as much as I can! It was hit and delicious, there was so much I don't think I was able to finish it. The restaurant was clean, and the bathrooms were clean as well. This place was pretty cool. Was just visiting for the day, but definitely wanted to get a t shirt to commemorate some good alcohol. Normally I go for breweries but my mom preferred the food menu for the distillery, and I was not disappointed. I got the whiskey sampler and got to try the Canadian Rye that they make there, a single cask, and a moonshine. For the record, I love whiskey. I lean towards Irish whiskeys as a general rule, but I love tasting varieties. I had never had Canadian whiskey, I found it to be very distinct. Which was really nice. The flavor isn't normally what I go for though. It was very smooth and almost sweet. Not bad at all. My favorite was the single cask though. Great flavor, more my style. And then man, that moonstone. That'll put some hair on your chest no complaints here. Beyond the great spirits, my mother and I shared the cornbread (MAPLE BOURBON BUTTER. I'd drink it alone if I could...) also shar ed the nachos with brisket. The meat was very tender. It was also MASSIVE. The 2 of us barely put a dent in it. We needed 2 more ppl to even attempt to come close to finishing... a side note, maybe this is bc Im Mexican, but I'm NOT use to BBQ nachos. So I kept getting thrown when I tasted bbq sauce.
