The company offers a great value for checking all your points of concern- furnace, heating, plumbing, electrical. They were available to come at the convenient time and showed up as promised. Another great part is that they sent a text ahead of the person who will be coming. All technicians were friendly, knowledgeable and thorough. I remember Paul and Josh. I appreciate the suggestions. I didn't think it was imminent that I proceed with them. 4 instead of 5 is the prices quoted were extremely high which was surprising considering the amount of work that those specific jobs entailed. But this is everyone's choice. Another reason is that an electrician placed an advertisement sticker on one part in my house - very visible ( stood out like a sore thumb) and without my permission ( he didn't ask). Luckily the paint didn't peel off when I removed it. It's a small thing but it's a huge pet peeve for me. read more

Beware of this company. I definitely should have paid attention to the yelp reviews and not the google reviews. Overpriced, made the situation worse upon their first service call, took over a week to get a part that we could have gotten at Lowe's same day (when I asked Ken about this, he lied to us and said it wasn't the same part. It ultimately was). The 2nd visit was 2 days later on a Friday. We were told that they would be here at 1pm, they didn't get here until 6pm. That tech came with the wrong part, ordered the new part and told us we would be priority on Monday morning. They didn't show up on Monday until 5pm to only be here for 15 minutes. After complaining to John about this (it takes a lot for me to complain) he offered us a $75 refund that we never received and I had to call back for. So for what took 15 minutes to fix, because of NH Ross we had to wait for almost a week, we ended up paying well over what we should have, had water damage as a result of what the first service tech did and not one person (Ken or John) cared about it. The fact that they could have purchased the part from Lowe's and fixed it for us immediately instead of being here at 3 separate times is ridiculous. The only reason we stuck with them is because when they took the deposit for the job they "accidentally" processed the full amount. Being that we are good and honest people, we just let them do the job instead of fighting. I can't say the same for these people, who are the very opposite of good and honest. I took off from work and stayed home and at 4:45pm got a call that they have to reschedule. I was also told that in the case of an emergency, being a member would be a priority call. 5/12/2026: I called this company regarding an issue with my combi boiler, where the hot water stops after a few minutes. Their website advertised a $79.99 diagnostic fee, which I agreed to before scheduling the visit. However, when the technician arrived, I was charged $475 just for diagnosis, with no repair completed. The technician then told me the repair would cost $1,475 to replace a faulty hot water sensor. I declined the repair because the quoted price seemed unreasonable. Despite no repair being done, I was still charged $475 only for diagnostics. Secondly, they performed some minor plumbing work, and the quality was very poor and unprofessional. I was at work during the installation, but when I came home, I was disappointed by how sloppy everything looked. They seem to assume that customers already understand HVAC, plumbing, and gas conversion decisions. As a first-time homeowner/customer converting from oil to gas, I expected more guidance and professional advice. Instead, they did not properly educate me on the best options or discuss cleaner installation choices. Their priority appeared to be convenience for themselves rather than quality for the customer. Pipes were installed in the easiest possible way, leaving them fully exposed below the ceiling instead of routing them more neatly near the ceiling where they could have been concealed behind sheetrock. Even when existing piping from a previous company was poorly done, they simply continued the same style rather than improving it. After seeing the finished work, I pointed out that with a little extra effort, the pipes could have been routed much more cleanly and professionally. By then, it was too late unless I now pay another contractor to redo or hide the exposed pipes. Additionally, they did not properly advise me on gas meter placement. Based on their recommendation, I chose a poor location, and now my gas meter is installed in the middle of my walkway to the backyard/kitchen area, sticking out from the ground and creating both an eyesore and inconvenience. DO NOT get involved with this company!! They are truly scammers and price gougers. Like others, I signed up for their "Anchor" membership ($30 a month), which is supposed to entitle you to priority service and "free" annual checkups - plumbing, heating, electric, etc. But beware - as soon as a serviceman gets into your house, he will start telling you that all kinds of work is needed and will offer to write you up an estimate and you will be shocked at the price they are asking. The next day they will start calling you to ask about setting up an appointment. Each time one of their "technicians" has stepped into my house I have been given an estimate of at least $1000 for work that is not necessary. For example, the guy who came to conduct my "free" annual electrical inspection told me that I needed to replace two outlets and add two smoke alarms. The estimate for this "work" was $1700! I went to Home Depot and bought two smoke alarms and my husband put in two outlets, all for under $100. I have to say I am pretty insulted that this guy considered me to be such an idiot that I would accept his "estimate". I am convinced that the guys that are sent to your home get a commission if they can sell you a service so they make up work that they claim you need to have done to get that commission. Also, when my mother was alive and in her 80s there were several instances where she was taken advantage of - it was blatant overcharging of a senior citizen and when I tried to get some of the money back they wouldn't hear of it. I had an AC system installed by them in January and when we went to turn it on when the summer arrived it didn't work. It took FOUR visits before one of the servicemen was able to find the problem . . . which was a leak because IT HADN'T BEEN INSTALLED PROPERLY TO BEGIN WITH!!! My elderly mother has been left without heat for several days, despite signing up for the membership that advertised having your emergencies being a priority for the company. I understand the company line that I'll receive in response, if I receive a response at all. I can tell from many reviews here that this continues to be an issue for others, as well. Do not waste your time or money in signing up for this membership. If you are without heat, they will get to you when they can (several days later) and you will not be made a priority at all. "We've been in business for 52 years!" NH ROSS INC." will boast. " We are comparable to other electricians in the area." When challenged- Well "we might be significantly higher but we stand behind our warranty." ... The job I needed was for an outdoor electrical outlet that was burned on the outside. No repairs were needed to the wires and it was deemed completely safe. The first part was $349.00 ( this was an outlet box- $17.98 at Home Depot. It needed an additional part which was $379.00 (this was an outlet cover quoted at $17.49 at Home Depot). It needed TWO parts as listed on the bill. The first quote was almost $700.00. Upon questioning the cost, the technician remembered he had a $50 coupon in his truck. Upon more confusion on the cost, he then was able to take off 5%. With continuous confusion, the office was called to "see what they can do." SHYSTERS!! Upon researching each of the TWO parts ( all that was required), they costed less than $50.00. Essentially, this company is charging $500-600 for "labor" on a FIFTEEN MINUTE JOB. I repeat, 15 minutes. NOTHING internally was damaged. Joan the office manager first explained they charge for time- she claimed he was here for 2 hours and 15 minutes (punching in and out time). All of which was completely drawn out for different reasons such as waiting for the 1 of 2 parts to arrive from another technician. The job itself took 15 MINUTES!! Then, the response changed to "we just charge a flat fee." There is NO CLEAR REASONING for why they charge what they do. It is also just possible that NH Ross might just seek opportunities to overcharge and take advantage of clients whom they see fit. This business is completely unethical. So, I requested the following services from NH Ross one whole week in advance: repair of toilet, clogged drains, backed up tub, leaking pipe in basement, and they assured me they would provide the service I needed and were "extra happy" to help me with all my plumbing needs. He spoke with us briefly, went back to his truck, came back, and then told us that he "had an emergency." But before he went back to his truck the second time, he gave us the number of Hardy Plumbing and Heating, which I thought was more than a tad bizarre since he gave us the phone number of a rival company. (What the heck is this?) I guess "Mike F." isn't really that loyal to the hand that apparently feeds him. Anyhow, the guy goes back to his truck for the last time and sits outside our house for a full 15-20 minutes. (Some "emergency"!) He finally pulls off. I get in touch with the main office, and they assure me they'll look into it. I texted, I called, I emailed... NEVER HEARD BACK SINCE. So Caveat emptor: steer clear of NH Ross. We were told by PC Richards our 30 amp needed to be changed to a 20 amp receiver for a new air unit. I thought a couple of hundred bucks maybe. It was over 500$ in the end. PC Richards comes to deliver and they tell me that whoever installed this should have known that I needed a 20 amp 220 for an air conditioner replacement this size, not a 20 amp 110, which requires an unnecessary downgrade. Let me start by saying I never feel the need to leave reviews for a company whether good or bad, I'm just too busy but I felt the need to write this one. Please be cautious when dealing with this company. I was a little hesitant to use them because I saw a number of bad reviews they had but I went against my gut because they had a lot of good reviews as well (which at this point I don't know how). I gave their "Anchor Club Membership" a shot where they come out the service your systems once a year. Here's the story: The first technician (Steven) came on 8/16/24 to service my A/C. He was polite, and professional and seemed honest. He did the work and I was satisfied. The second technician (Sean) came on 8/21/24 to service my plumbing. He seemed very inexperienced (I found out later he'd only been working with the company for 2 months). He was suppose to completely drain out both my water tanks and then flush them to get the sediment out. All he did was let a little bit of water out of both tanks for a minute each. He did not even kill power the systems and let the water cool down. Any homeowner who has gotten maintenance done on a water heater before knows that is not the proper service. I found out later he did not let water out from the correct outlet, the outlet he used was actually DRAINING WATER OUT OF MY BOILER SYSTEM. He was going to leave without providing other services I paid to have (such as water quality test and water pressure test, etc). I had to ask him to do it at which point he did. The entire time he was just half a**ing everything and was not very thorough nor competent. The next day on 8/22/24 I had a CO leak from my boiler. I've never had that issue on my system before. I called the company and they sent a heating technician out the next day. Long story short the third technician (Jorge) came 8/23/24. He was very knowledgeable and perform the proper maintenance on the tanks, however I'm still left with the CO issue which was more than likely caused by the second technician. Then to put the icing on the cake later on that day of 8/23/24 I noticed my upstairs was not getting cooled. I went and saw that my A/C condenser fan was not working (I've never had any issues with my A/C system until dealing with this company). I called and they said they'd send out another A/C technician the following day. On 8/24/24 the fourth technician (Hans) came. He looked at the unit for all of 30 seconds (no proper troubleshooting) and claimed I had a bad capacitor. He said it could not be the fan motor because it would be hot to the touch if it had voltage coming to it so it had the be the capacitor. After some back in fourth he quoted me $420 to change it out which would only take him 2 minutes to do. I asked him if he was for certain the issue would be resolved and he looked me in my eyes and with a straight face told me I would have nothing to worry about and it would work. He replaced the old capacitor with a brand new one and lo and behold the fan still did not work. At which point he then claim it's a bad fan motor. At this point I was done, I'd learned my lesson. I had him take back the new capacitor, leave the old one and declined any further services. I cancelled the "Anchor Club Membership" however I'm now stuck without a boiler system and without an upstairs A/C. If I could give this company 0 stars I would, but I have to give at least 1 in order to post the review. I'm just going to chalk it up as a lesson learned and never go against my gut again. read more

Called Ross since our gas furnace kept cycling on and off and not supplying any heat. Service man listened to problem and then went to inspect the unit. He kept telling me how old it was and how it needed a good cleaning (we had both heating and AC serviced just last year by another company). He didn't find any problem but told me, at great length, how it either needed a good cleaning or needed replaced. The cleaning would be $1,200 and I didn't ask how much the replacement would be. He wrote up a long proposal and charged for the service call. The unit worked once or twice and then started to do the same cycling on and off. Since we live close to the Ross business, I stopped by and told them that the furnace was still malfunctioning. The counter person looked up the service info and told me that the service person recommended a cleaning and again quoted the $1,200. Call me crazy but I just wanted the furnace fixed or the thermostat fixed. So all that was offered was the cleaning or the replacement. Keep in mind that the service man said that he couldn't find anything wrong! So the "service fee" was a total waste of money and I still have to find someone who can fix the problem. Thank goodness it's not the middle of winter!! In a word - beware!! read more

First, let me start off with the service tech, more like a salesman, coming into my home and showing me about his "agenda card" on how he is going to "fix" my toilet that has been acting up for the past couple of days. Saying something about his truck being yellow but that was irrelevant. The man was trying to tell me that my toilet flange was the issue without even taking a look at it first. After that, tried selling me a new toilet while still standing in at front door without taking a step into my bathroom. Giving me options with outrageous prices. I politely asked if there could be any discounts or price adjustments since the prices were so high, so he made a phone call to his boss (That's what I am assuming). Returned back to me stating that his boss "found" a coupon for $25 off.... then proceeded to ask to take a look at my hot water heater and was wondering if I was interested in getting a tankless upgrade. Informed me that if i decide to go with a tankless water heater, that they can cluster it together and i can save some money. I just wanted him to fix my toilet and he's looking at other things in my home to sell me on! After all that, I told him I wanted to have another company come by and look at my toilet...this man had the audacity to charge me $79 for a consultation. THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM! NH Ross charged me $983 for labor only in replacing my kitchen faucet. It wasn't a complicated job, and I would have done it myself if I had a small saw to cut the old faucet. I have repeatedly called Neil, the president and he will not call me back. The only reason I used NH Ross was because they were highly recommended by my previous condo president. I guess she hadn't used them in a while and was furious to hear of what they charged me. I was extremely distracted that day, interviewing someone when the plumber was here which is probably why I just wrote the check. I thought it was a lot, but they were highly recommended, and the plumber told me that was what it cost. I looked online and saw quotes of $150 to a high of $412 for labor charges in replacing a faucet. So, they charged me nearly 240% over the highest quote I saw in my zip code. First when Harris came he couldn't finish the job because the PVC glue had frozen in the truck. Was it his FIRST day??? I gets cold every winter!! Harris installed a shower pan. He cut the Sheetrock too short on the sides and the drain cover just sits on top of the pipe!! Bob keeps telling me that that's the way drains are made now but I just had another one installed in another bathroom and it attached so when hair gets stuck in it, it can be cleaned! The technician came out, looked but never touched our air conditioner and said it was broken and we needed to buy a new one. He also told me that they only service central air conditioning and I had advised 3 different dispatchers it was a wall unit. As far as the problem with the unit, it's only a couple years old and I would later find out we only needed to replace our filter. Something seemed very strange about them knowing it was a wall unit and still sending someone to our home. I'm posting this review to let people know that not only did they unnecessarily gain access to our home, after being advised it was a wall unit several times and they said they only service central air. It was only a filter that needed to be replaced, it was not broken and unrepairable as the technician had stated and the technician also tried to get me to sign something, and he never even touched the unit. At this time, I am not 100% sure how I will rate this company. We had a plumbing issue which ended up being a hassle due to the previous owners installing PVC to bypass the trap. Besides that being a challenge, coming out to snake our trap, we were quoted $662! We called to cancel because that is outrageous and immediately we were offered a discount. No problem. Our service tech/plumber was a peach but he couldn't get through because the trap was under our raised flowerbed. We received another insane quote to dig a hole so we opted to do it ourselves. The following day we called and described what was unearthed and was told that what we explained is what they need to work on. Another tech/plumber arrives and tries to work his magic and says that the hole needs to be larger because what they need to work on is deeper still. Now this is after speaking with them to confirm we no longer needed to dig. They couldn't wait until we dug some more so another call was made and another quote was reported (over $500) to widen and deepen the hole. Now it's Friday and our last discussion with the tech was , 'we'll see you tomorrow'. So Saturday comes and we call for an ETA and we are told that they don't normally work on weekends but can come out and there will be an emergency charge. Now understand that we cannot flush, shower, run any water or all of the excrement will back up into the house...again. We wait until Monday, they come and use a root drill and all in all the pipe is clear. We saved $700 digging holes but it still came out to $1000. Grateful to be back in business but as they pull away, they hit our portable basketball hoop (caught on our Ring) and smash it into our tree. You hear the crack and see the basketball hoop/stand buckle. He backs up and pulls away. I think he thought he hit the branch. We reported it to them and included the fact that we have proof along with a photo of what the replacement would be. It's Tuesday and they sent the same guy back to take pictures. Let's see what happens. I cannot in good conscience recommend this company until I see how they resolve this issue that was 100% their fault. read more
