assorted bahn mi, honey garlic sausage bahn mi
Carrie L.

i usually go to the vaughan location but was in the area so wanted to give this a try. i got the assorted bahn mi and the garlic honey sausage bahn mi. both were pretty yummy :) the only thing was the store wasn't super clean so i think seeing that affected our appetite a bit :( the service was great tho, the staff was super sweet!

The staff here are so much nicer than at the Steeles location, and I personally prefer the desserts here to the Steeles location as well. Of course Nguyen Huong is famous for its Banh Mi, as they should be because their Banh Mi are delicious. However, they have lots of Vietnamese desserts and other pre-made snacks and meals. Their pandan honeycomb cake is amazing, as is their tri-coloured dessert (che ba mau) - if you're going to eat the che ba mau right away, let them know, they will pour it into a larger cup and add crushed ice to it. It is $0.50 extra but much yummier this way. But if you're going to take it home to eat later, obviously don't get the ice otherwise it will melt and water down your dessert. I recommend you crush your own ice and add it at home, and then mix everything up. It cuts down on the sweetness and tastes like Halo-Halo or Ais Kacang. They also sell Asian-style beef jerky, which I really like, but who am I kidding I like all types of beef jerky, lol. I've never had any of the pre-packaged meals here but they look appetizing and freshly made. I've had various snacks and desserts and they are all good. The plaza in which it is located is not the most aesthetically pleasing and going from one end to the other you will likely encounter at least 3 different panhandlers. The parking lot is pretty chaotic. In terms of location, I definitely prefer their other sites (they have 4 stores across the GTA), but for service and quality, I like this one better.

Just under a year since opening and they're still incredibly busy--which honestly says a lot. I'd…read moredefinitely recommend ordering ahead on their website since there's no indoor seating to wait, but it makes the whole experience much smoother. There are benches outside and counters where you can stand and eat, giving it a casual, quick-stop kind of vibe. It's also part market, so you can browse a selection of goodies while you're there. I tried the Antico Parma sandwich and it was delicious--definitely a spot I'd go out of my way for again. Highly recommend checking it out if you're in the area.

I got 3 sandwiches for me and my family (4 people including me). What we ordered: Mona Lisa: 8/10 For both of the sandwiches the bread was very fresh and delicious! They make them fresh for each order and you can taste the quality. The flavours in the Mona Lisa worked really well together, I loved the truffle cream and burrata. Torino: 7/10 This sandwich was also good, but the I felt like it was lacking something, especially compared to the mona lisa. The spicy eggplant just tasted like plain pickled eggplant and wasn't that spicy. I feel like both sandwiches were a bit salty due to the prosciutto, and were missing some sweet or acidic element. I added some balsamic glaze and hot honey at home which was great! The portion sizes are HUGE, the 4 of us were quite full after splitting the 3.

Ariete E Toro - Piece of hair found in our sandwich :S

Ariete E Toro located near Yonge St. near Keewatin Ave in Mid-town Toronto serves up high-end…read moreItalian sandwiches. Opened in Feb 2025, the sandwich shop is set to expand opening a second location near Dundas and Ossington sometime this year. They are open daily from 11am to 5pm where you can pre-order off Ambassador for pick up or opt for delivery with Ubereats. When Ariete E Toro first opened last year, I recall seeing the long lines as it became super popular. Fast forward to a year later, I finally tried Ariete E Toro recently. The storefront is on a side street off of Yonge St. where it is take out only. They do have a bench near the window/entrance of the store but usually it's utilized by people waiting for their sandwiches. In the summer though, they have a small patio in front of the shop with some tables and chairs. Menu wise, Ariete E Toro has a variety of sandwiches with ingredients that work well together. You are also able to build your own sandwich if you'd like. They also have beverages like soda and water as well. The store boasts that all their ingredients are high quality. An average price of a sandwich is around $17. I decided to pre-order 2 sandwiches for pick up. These are the two sandwiches I got: - Enzo (mortadella di bologna, pistachio pesto, stracciatella cheese, chopped pistachio, lemon and basil oil). - Rogo Rogo (prosciutto cotto, 'nduja cream, smoked provolone, caramelized onion, arugula, and brown butter vinaigrette) Entering the store to pick up my order, staff were amidst completing my sandwiches. There was already a regular there chatting with staff. Service was quick. My sandwiches were packed and I had half of each at home. The size of the sandwich was pretty big! I could only finish 3/4th of the sandwich. Both the Enzo and the Rogo Rogo were tasty but the Enzo stole the show. The moist bread with the mortadella where the pistachio pesto and hint of stracciatella cheese along with a slight crunch from the chopped pistachio made for a perfect sandwich (I do prefer the bread a bit harder and crunchier though but the texture of this one was still good). I was sharing the sandwiches with my partner and as he opened the packaging he noticed a piece of hair in the sandwich. I would have given a higher rating on Yelp but finding someone else's hair in your food is off-putting. I do hope that if I return next time (either to this location or to their new location near Ossington/Dundas) that we won't find any surprises in our food. Overall, delicious sandwiches in Midtown Toronto, however, we did find a piece of hair in our sandwiches which.... kind of makes me hesitant to return. **Update** - I wrote a review on Google where the owner personally asked me to email them to rectify the situation with the piece of hair found in my sandwich. The owner apologized and stated that he was actually the one who personally made my sandwich that day (sliced the deli meat, etc.). He also made sure that he would speak with the bread manufacturer to make sure that they were aware of the situation as it may have come from the bread as well. He also gave me a refund for one sandwich as well as a $25 credit for if I wanted to give the sandwich spot another chance (the sandwich is too good to not go back!). That is what I call great customer service - making sure that an apology was given and that customers are happy. Would happily return again for their tasty sandwiches!!

Food: I got the Enzo - I'm a big fan of mortadella and pistachio pesto, and it's one of their OGs. I wasn't as big a fan of the sotto bosco, but overall the quality and portion sizes are solid. Presentation: Each sandwich comes in a snazzy box perfect for keeping the sandwich intact Space: Clean shop, more of a take out spot, with just one bench by the windows for seating Service: Quick and efficient - no line when I went right at opening on a Sunday. I came here hoping to satisfy my craving for a proper Italian mortadella sandwich after Eataly left me underwhelmed. Thankfully, this one hit the spot.

This is a very small deli/restaurant in the Junction on the NW corner of Keele and Dundas…read more Advertised as a deli but my guess is they drive more of their sales from takeout and light dine-in orders. What a pleasant surprise... was very impressed with this place! Food (4.75/5) - they have a good mix of sandwiches, meats, jerk chicken and beef patties. - Fully Loaded Peameal On a Bun - what an outstanding breakfast sandwich - probably the best one I have ever had! Hearty portions of: - double peameal bacon patties - fried egg - melted cheddar - maple aioli - kale - tomato (not for me) All on a soft pain-au-lait bun. What a first bite! Juicy peameal, maple aioli flavour, perfectly fried medium soft egg were the highlights. Beef Patty - fresh not frozen and homemade. Had the mild one and probably could have done spicy instead... it is VERY mild. Nice mix of beef, oxtail and other ingredients in a nicely baked outer crust - not too dry or thick. Service (4.75/5) - can tell this is a family/private owned business... take pride in their stuff, friendly and polite. It isn't going to be ready in 5 minutes... building from scratch takes some time but well worth it! Atmosphere (4.25/5) - it's got this retro NYC deli feel to it with the artifacts, signs and hardware. Primarily for take-out so if you want to stay there are 3 bar stools and 2 benches with side tables. Overall (4.75/5) - very impressed and 100% coming back to try out many of the other items on the menu. Someone eating beside me had the Reuben and it looked great too. Only issue is they are only open for short stints during the day and weekends is only time i can get there... breakfast opening is 1030am and stops at 12pm, so get there early to grab those breakfast sandwiches if that's your goal!

Every bite feels like heaven & you can taste the love that was put into the smoked meat. Their Thursday deal where you can get two 3.5oz sloppy reubens for $14 is a steal, you can absolutely make two meals out of it if you have a drink to pair it with (even a big glass of water will do). Also I forgot the name of the young black lady with glasses but she is literally the sweetest most hospitable person ever, I always feel so welcomed whenever I see her.

The website looks like it's still under development and has a bunch of placeholder stuff but rest assured, they are fully open and functional. They have the full range of cafe drinks both hot and iced with some unique drinks including a Nutella latte which I couldn't resist ordering. There were baked goods on display like bagels, croissants, and gigantic muffins! The muffins looked more like mini cakes to me. The only croissant on display was a plain one but the staff let me know they can also do Nutella croissants, savory ones with egg, or one filled with strawberries. My payment was taking on a Clover terminal. The barista let me know it would be about 5 minutes for my order so I spent some time exploring the space. They have seating that is open for dine-in with bistro chairs and benches. The decor is quite welcoming. There's a well-kept area of plants greeting you at the entrance. A chalk signboard to the right of the doors has the Wifi password for the guest network. They also have portraits of yester-year nearby areas which was neat to see. The staff member that helped me was super nice. I was given a little container with 2 Oreos in it - I think for dunking in my latte! A really awesome idea. The latte had very bold Nutella flavour and I would say that it was more Nutella than latte which is not a bad thing if you're a fan! It seemed more reminiscent of a hot chocolate than a latte and was a real treat. The croissant was buttery and flaky and was nicely packaged with a sticker sealing the paper bag so I didn't have to worry about crumbs escaping. They have more than just pastries. They also serve sandwiches and soups so you can fill up for lunch here as well. I saw that they offer afternoon tea sets either for dine-in or to-go and you just have to give them a heads up a day in advance so they can prepare it for you.
