We checked into the hotel pretty late (after 10:00pm). The young man who was working at the desk was very friendly and professional. My husband had originally booked for two nights but realized we needed to add another night, and asked about adding another night on to our stay. He was very accommodating. We will have to switch rooms for our last night here, but that's not a problem at all. We were happy he was able to get us another night during the 4th of July weekend. Rooms are extremely clean (look brand new still) and spacious, with a frig, coffee maker, and small microwave. I always appreciate an included hair dryer and iron in hotel rooms and I made use of both. Bed is comfortable with plenty of pillows. Our room had a couch, chair and table - everything you could want. Bonus points for the black "makeup" washcloth in the bathroom! You don't see that very often and I like it as I always feel bad about washing my makeup off with the standard bright white washcloths. Hard flooring throughout the room - a bit out of the ordinary for a hotel, perhaps, but they are kind of a wood look laminate and not cold like tile (I hate cold floors). I appreciated that you could tell they were clean, as opposed to wondering if the hotel room carpet is dirty or gross. I took advantage of the beautiful 72 degree weather and enjoyed my coffee outside in the comfortable chairs on the patio. There is a pool and small fitness center here as well, which is nice to have available when traveling. I ran into the manager, Tammy, when I came downstairs this morning. She's very friendly (always has been) and though I already know her, she made a point to ask how my stay was, how the room was, and if I needed anything. I found that the staff at this hotel really cares that the guests enjoy their stay. Though it is a chain hotel, they offer a home town friendly feel, and that you just can't beat. Did I say how clean/nice these rooms are? Anyone who travels has experienced the "this room looked great online but it's disgusting in person" surprise at least once. I realize it's still pretty new, but it's easy to tell that they do make a point to keep this property in top top condition. The staff was even out wiping off the patio furniture this morning. We made it to Moore, ID before night fell, and almost immediately had our first of many near-miss encounters with large, be-hooved creatures. We drove white-knuckle and puckered for almost two hours, dodging elk and deer and marmots and cows (yes, cows)...and progressed maybe 70 miles. Missoula was still a disheartening 200+ miles away, and as we couldn't likely return the rental car with a cow lodged in the front seat ("I'm aaaalmost certain that was there already"), we decided we needed a place to stay for the night. It was really late already, so we called every number of every hotel we could find in the area, but to no avail. Finally, with our options almost out, we called Trails End...and the nice lady who runs the place answered! We explained our situation and she said no problem, we could check in whenever we liked, even though it wouldn't be until around 1am. We finally arrived in one piece. We rang the doorbell and she came right out (it was pretty obvious she had been sleeping, poor lady), as cheery as if it were midday and she weren't having to deal with a pair of city-slickers who were somehow surprised at the fact that, hey, sometimes animals roam around at night in the country. Who knew! Now, we were just happy to have a room. But for $50, we weren't expecting much...until we walked inside. Huge TV with cable, free wi-fi that was actually really fast, incredibly comfortable bed, great shower, nice linens, everything super clean...this would have run for *easily* $100-$150 in Missoula or any other town I've ever stayed (I've paid double for a room in Carlsbad that you wouldn't let your worst enemy stay in). Definitely one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. Thanks for saving our bacon, Trails End!

The hosts were wonderful and very accommodating. The hot tub overlooked the valley and the sunset was amazing as it lit up the hills. The beds were super comfy and the rooms very clean and cozy. In the morning we saw turkey and deer. My only regret was not being able to throw a line into the little pond out back. The B&B part is a bit misleading, as they do not serve food. But there is a fridge in every room, and plenty of restaurants in nearby Darby. I consider it very lucky that we were able to stay in this place and would actually seek it out again.
