Grasshopper Inn was a reserved & planned stop with another group of friends renting their own room. We were caravanning up to a festival in Lolo and wanted to make a a stop at Crystal Park. Decided to stop at Elkhorn Hot Springs after our day of driving and crystal digging. Afterwards a local boy offered to navigate us to Grasshopper, so we followed him directly onto the grounds. After tipping him and he was on his way, they had left the key in our door since we arrived after hours, made it convenient! We got settled into a very clean room (as I always inspect for bugs and dust)!! We were greeted with little table with snacks. My very own karaoke machine! Haha, duh. I was exhausted. Shower was tiny and hot/cold water while showering was hit and miss, but overall it was nothing to cry about!! Breakfast was a little late and subpar, yet there was a packed house! I highly recommend staying here and I will again if ever in the area! The hosts were the sweetest, even allowed us into the community area to get fresh brewed coffee as needed until breakfast was ready. Something to note: no cell phone service at all - we had 3 diff providers, it's a dead zone I guess. No internet on the particular night we stayed (possibly due to the forest fires), so we couldn't watch tv either.

April 13th, 2026 - I decided to give a review after lodging many times in the past. New owners in 2025 (Nate & Char I'm guessing) i have not met in person yet. I did meet nice lady helping out with things June 2025. I hope to return June 2026 to reserve same room again. We always go digging for crystals at (Crystal Park). Our stay in 2024 was very successful digging for gems, 2025 not so good. Room was quiet (except dog barking once in a while below our room) other than that all was good to us. I notice a price increase for 2026. I will see if my companion can cough up 1/2 amount per night to help out. Hopefully will see everyone mid-June. Cheers. Absolutely wonderful news owners! The Inn has been renovated as of 2025 and the rooms are gorgeous. The views and scenery is to die for and the service is unparalleled. We were served a homemade breakfast every morning with a smile and fresh coffee! They have a restaurant open Thursday through Saturday with down home food that is delicious. read more

Nate and Char are great! Our room was clean, newly remodeled, and decorated. We had a family room that had everything we needed including a Keurig coffee maker. We had a terrific breakfast of blueberry waffles, sausage and eggs. We had wonderful conversation with the hosts and are very excited to revisit this hidden gem in the Polaris community! read more

An unexpected surprise in Polaris. Get the bison burger. You may want to split it, it's huge and the best!!!!! read more
