We stayed here on a fishing and camping trip for our anniversary. It was a holiday weekend so we wanted a hot showers, a comfortable bed, and to avoid the crowds. What we didn't expect was a place we'd love to come back to in the future because their attention to detail was just exceptional. Pros? Super friendly owners and staff... everyone makes you feel welcome Very clean rooms! Each room is uniquely styled with a name to match Can't say enough about the attention to detail in the rooms and buildings... everything from the lights, location of plugs, in unit air/ heat, popcorn machine, coffee/ tea stations... and so much more! It's a long list of what made this place feel so neat to be at So many books throughout the hallways on travel and outdoors, everyone can find something to read A patio on every side of the building and every level? Yes please! I loved the fresh fruit and yogurt and the bacon for breakfast, while the hubby was a fan of the fresh baked scones, muffin tops, and banana bread Pricing that was reasonable enough for what this place is that we decided to stay a second night Very close to town and nestled on a hill overlooking the valley Cons? Nope! Tips? Spend more than one night here so you can enjoy the view from the patios, relax in your room, and enjoy some popcorn/ wine with a good book :-) read more

Beautiful place and well appointed. We enjoyed the downstairs bedroom, which included a balcony overlooking the valley and local wildlife. The great room is beyond comfortable. Paula is perhaps the ultimate host. Our breakfast was perfect. Eggs, bacon, fresh fruit, yogurt with granola, scones and toast. Coffee and assorted teas are available all day. Hot cocoa for those who just want something hot and tasty. My wife and our friends were first timers. We will certainly be back. For piano players, there's a baby grand in the great room. Syringa Lodge provides a beautiful and cozy room with a delicious breakfast. The host was friendly and so accommodating, asking us about our food preferences and making sure we were comfortable for the night. We had our dog with us and even though she was not allowed in the room the host had no objection to us walking her around the property and again was so very friendly about it. We did not have a reservation. We saw the great reviews online and called to ask if there was a room available just 30 minutes before we arrived in town. Such a wonderful treat to find a room here! Must be a good hotel because when I arrived I saw all the good reviews but they had already sold out for the day and it was still early. Most other hotels were not fully booked. I stayed at the Stagecoach Inn. Everything was nice except the hotel "eggs". Ate breakfast at Wally's Diner. read more

We stumbled across the lodge when trying to find a place to stay in Salmon last minute. It has breath taking views overlooking Salmon. The rooms are great and the breakfast is amazing. Beautiful place to stay. We were met by Paul who showed us the room, gave us dinner tips and provided us with popcorn and M&M's. Room was very clean and cozy. Comfortable bed, pillows and the towels were nice and fluffy. Absolutely loved the breakfast. It was so yummy with eggs, beacon, yogurt, nuts, pastries, fruit, coffee and juice. I was sad we were only staying one night. I would love to come back. Much better then a boring hotel with stale beagles. read more

This was our first experience at a B&B, and they have set the bar high. The lodge is gorgeous inside and out. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The property overlooks the little town of Salmon. It is peaceful and quiet. The only sound you can hear are the birds, crickets and water flowing. Stayed on Saturday July 18. Lodge is absolutely fantastic. Multiple decks to enjoy the breeze and views. The lodge is on a hill and you can see the entire town of salmon and mountains and cliffs etc. The room furnishings are very nice. Bathroom is very nice. Nice tile. Breakfast was epic. Plenty of food and great quality. People r very nice. Oh they also have a popcorn machine. Very tasty. read more

Lovely decorations, every amenity one could ask for, from luxury bathrobes to fresh popcorn in the very spacious and pretty lobby, small refrigerators and keurig coffeemakers on each floor, attention to every detail. Immaculate and so comfortable in every way. The owners were friendly without ever being overbearing. This is a true find and we both wish we could have stayed longer. read more

Several colleagues and myself were traveling to Salmon for important business meetings. As typical Marriott/Hilton guests there weren't many options in Salmon, however someone recommended the Syringa Lodge. We were initially hesitant as business travelers, but I'm so glad we chose them. It was like we were on vacation! Dave and Paula couldn't have been nicer with a big breakfast in the morning, a roaring fire in the fireplace, nice, clean en suite rooms. Solid walls so you couldn't hear any noise from the next room and beautiful sweeping views. Strong wifi signal also. It was such a nice change over the chain hotels I usually stay at on business trips. Dave even let us keep our bags in a room and allowed us to return after our meeting to change and freshen up before our drive back to Idaho Falls. read more

My husband and I travel to Salmon for business and to visit family. Syringa Lodge is our favorite place to stay. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. I hate to give this good of a review, because it will make the Syringa Lodge more popular and harder to get a room, but with that caveat, this place is fantastic. Great people, great experience. The lodge is a work of art all the way from the log frame to the towels in the bathrooms. The view from the lodge is great, removed from the business of the town of Salmon, but still close enough for access to it, with a beautiful view from the hillside. I had just ridden my bicycle from Southern California, this was my last stop along the way, and what a nice place for the last stop on my trip! read more
