The first thing I…read moreloved was that they have a place close to the entrance to park motorcycles, which helped us feel safer about them. Our room was clean and we had a nice view of the river. When they're hosting ball players, it seems to be a bit loud and rowdy but thankfully things calmed down at a relatively decent hour and we were able to get a good night's sleep. Breakfast was pretty good, just a basic buffet style, but we liked it. We'll definitely stay again if we're passing through.

The dwelling itself is in need of refreshing as what was once warm and charming is now dreary and depressing. The "free" breakfast which used to be terrific - hash browns and mini cheese omelettes has now become the equivalent of gas station food. The gravy was actually cold and biscuits stale. The first day there the coffee wasn't even ready for over thirty minutes. They will "sell" you an omelet but you must pay $10 for it. Without much competition in town they are taking full advantage of it. With an already a high nightly rate, this place is no better than an aging, yet overpriced Motel 6.

My wife and I were trying to make it to Missoula from Lake Tahoe in one day (I'm no stranger to…read morelong drives, but it was perhaps a bit ambitious). We made it to Moore, ID before night fell, and almost immediately had our first of many near-miss encounters with large, be-hooved creatures. We drove white-knuckle and puckered for almost two hours, dodging elk and deer and marmots and cows (yes, cows)...and progressed maybe 70 miles. Missoula was still a disheartening 200+ miles away, and as we couldn't likely return the rental car with a cow lodged in the front seat ("I'm aaaalmost certain that was there already"), we decided we needed a place to stay for the night. It was really late already, so we called every number of every hotel we could find in the area, but to no avail. Finally, with our options almost out, we called Trails End...and the nice lady who runs the place answered! We explained our situation and she said no problem, we could check in whenever we liked, even though it wouldn't be until around 1am. We finally arrived in one piece. We rang the doorbell and she came right out (it was pretty obvious she had been sleeping, poor lady), as cheery as if it were midday and she weren't having to deal with a pair of city-slickers who were somehow surprised at the fact that, hey, sometimes animals roam around at night in the country. Who knew! Now, we were just happy to have a room. But for $50, we weren't expecting much...until we walked inside. Huge TV with cable, free wi-fi that was actually really fast, incredibly comfortable bed, great shower, nice linens, everything super clean...this would have run for *easily* $100-$150 in Missoula or any other town I've ever stayed (I've paid double for a room in Carlsbad that you wouldn't let your worst enemy stay in). Definitely one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. Thanks for saving our bacon, Trails End!

It could not be cuter with its rustic country charm! There's a queen bed on the main level & up a spiral staircase 2 twin beds in the loft. A couch, a kitchen and a kitchen table make it super homey... I could easily never go back home! Super fast WiFi, refrigerator, freezer, shower (tall & hot) ... nice deck with chairs & a BBQ! I sat out until dark and soaked in every bit of serenity I could. Great getaway!

The breakfast potatoes and the hot chocolate tasted oh so good honestly you should try the breakfast. It's really really yummy and tasty. Wi-Fi: it is so GOOD The Wi-Fi is perfect. It never went out and it stayed at a strong signal. Room: the room was so Big it had such a big TV. The bathroom was very big and the shower was very nice and felt really good. The room is also very clean. Sleep/Bed: we got such a good amount of sleep probably got like eight or nine hours of sleep. The bed did not sink. The bed was very very comfy. I recommend the bed. Other things to add: this hotel was looking crisp and it was very, very cool and very nice. I recommend this place if you love to go to bed. And you like to go to sleep.

There are newer security door handles with card swipe and newer sound boards in the walls to quiet things down from the neighbors. She has also added new carpet in recent years. The toilet flushes Sometimes you just want a place where you can rest your head for a night or two, sit on a flushing throne, and not worry about the elements. The cost of a room at this place is not much more than the cost of a couple pizzas. The motel offers an ice machine, a candy machine, and a washer and dryer to help you clean up after coming off the river or returning from a hunting trip. There's a really good dinner restaurant a short walk away and the great River of No Return runs a short distance in the rear.

The room and bathroom were very dirty, the beds were uncomfortable, the food was bad, the activities lacking. But the worst part of our entire experience was the rude and inhospitable attitude of the owner. He was unaccommodating as well as being aggressive. Stay away from this place!!
