Quaint place although a little shop worn. Gravel parking but great rates (59$ two bed kitchenette room #111) Tidy well kept room. No pool. Good, simple, cook-to-order breakfast for 3$!! TV & wifi. Dinner at Junkyard bistro recommended, short drive away. Nice change of pace from BW

Gold Bug Hot springs, not far from the Sacajawea Inn. Maybe 23 miles? It is a 2 mile hike to get to it, but it's incredible!

Awesome Price for an interesting hidden little treasure of a motel. Often when we travel, we pick a direction and just go. In November, last year, we decided to head to the "Trigger" of Idaho for my birthday, Salmon. After accessing all the motels, we read about animal themed rooms and we chose the Sacajawea Inn. The owners are incredibly nice, welcoming and accommodating. Pet fee was super low which was great. Awooooooooooooooooooo! We of course chose the "Wolf Room". I think it's great that they had a local artist paint the rooms.. it was a real breath of fresh air from some of the places we have stayed in, unique and creative. And the three dollar hot breakfast?? Where else do you stay where they cook a home cooked breakfast for you? We actually ended up staying two nights, and on our second day in Salmon, they gave us a map to Gold Bug hot springs, one of the best I have ever been too and rated top 5 in Idaho. (so don't forget to ask about that.) It only takes a few minutes to walk to the middle of town if you wish to go out for dinner and drinks, we found that every where we went in Salmon, people were super friendly. So if you are looking for something a little different than your usual hum drum motel stay, take a walk on the wild side and choose this one, you will be treated great!

Great staff and the $3 made to order breakfast pushes them over the edge into 5 star territory...great way to start your day.

What we didn't expect was a place we'd love to come back to in the future because their attention to detail was just exceptional. Pros? Super friendly owners and staff... everyone makes you feel welcome Very clean rooms! Each room is uniquely styled with a name to match Can't say enough about the attention to detail in the rooms and buildings... everything from the lights, location of plugs, in unit air/ heat, popcorn machine, coffee/ tea stations... and so much more! It's a long list of what made this place feel so neat to be at So many books throughout the hallways on travel and outdoors, everyone can find something to read A patio on every side of the building and every level? Yes please! I loved the fresh fruit and yogurt and the bacon for breakfast, while the hubby was a fan of the fresh baked scones, muffin tops, and banana bread Pricing that was reasonable enough for what this place is that we decided to stay a second night Very close to town and nestled on a hill overlooking the valley Cons? Nope! Tips? Spend more than one night here so you can enjoy the view from the patios, relax in your room, and enjoy some popcorn/ wine with a good book :-)

The rooms were in decent condition for an older hotel…read more The real issue is the treatment we received from staff. Four of us (all in our 70s) booked 4 rooms for a girls trip. At checkin, the clerks seemed annoyed at our laughter and frustrated when we asked if our rooms could be near each other. The bigger problem was with our reservation. We had booked 6 rooms through Expedia and canceled 2 well in advance (Expedia confirmed). The hotel still charged a $50 cancellation fee. Even though we were paying for 4 rooms, the manager, Julie, said the only way to waive the fee was if she paid it herself. When I asked for the owner's name to discuss this charge, Julie refused to provide it and wouldn't disclose which other hotels this person owns. That lack of transparency was disappointing. Other issues: one room's sliding door was unlocked upon arrival (a safety concern); we were given only 3 of 4 advertised ice cream coupons and treated like we were cheating when we asked for the 4th; 2 of us had repeated problems with key cards (5 reprograms in 3 nights) and were lectured as if it were our fault, though another staff member admitted it was a common issue. The strangest incident was staff knocking on our doors at 9 a.m. (checkout is 11) and instructing us to leave doors open after departure. We refused, as it felt unsafe. We left feeling unwelcome, unfairly charged, and blamed for problems not ours. This is the only negative hotel review I have ever written.

The waffles were very good and the hashbrowns I was impressed. Wi-Fi: if you want to know the Wi-Fi password use the room card. The Internet is very laggy. Sleep: we had very good sleep the beds did sink though but anyhow, we did get very good sleep. ROOM: our room was on the main floor, was very fancy and had a lot of outlets on the clock two outlets and one USB. I'm more concerned about the shower was really nice. It felt good on my skin . If you stay on the main floor, you will have access to the outside with a quick exit. The TV was very small, but worked properly. Pool: we never really went in it. The pool didn't really look that good. Other things to add: this hotel is not my favorite, but since I did get good sleep, this place deserves a good four stars! The town of salmon is pretty cool! This is my third hotel this summer!

My wife and I were trying to make it to Missoula from Lake Tahoe in one day (I'm no stranger to…read morelong drives, but it was perhaps a bit ambitious). We made it to Moore, ID before night fell, and almost immediately had our first of many near-miss encounters with large, be-hooved creatures. We drove white-knuckle and puckered for almost two hours, dodging elk and deer and marmots and cows (yes, cows)...and progressed maybe 70 miles. Missoula was still a disheartening 200+ miles away, and as we couldn't likely return the rental car with a cow lodged in the front seat ("I'm aaaalmost certain that was there already"), we decided we needed a place to stay for the night. It was really late already, so we called every number of every hotel we could find in the area, but to no avail. Finally, with our options almost out, we called Trails End...and the nice lady who runs the place answered! We explained our situation and she said no problem, we could check in whenever we liked, even though it wouldn't be until around 1am. We finally arrived in one piece. We rang the doorbell and she came right out (it was pretty obvious she had been sleeping, poor lady), as cheery as if it were midday and she weren't having to deal with a pair of city-slickers who were somehow surprised at the fact that, hey, sometimes animals roam around at night in the country. Who knew! Now, we were just happy to have a room. But for $50, we weren't expecting much...until we walked inside. Huge TV with cable, free wi-fi that was actually really fast, incredibly comfortable bed, great shower, nice linens, everything super clean...this would have run for *easily* $100-$150 in Missoula or any other town I've ever stayed (I've paid double for a room in Carlsbad that you wouldn't let your worst enemy stay in). Definitely one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. Thanks for saving our bacon, Trails End!

Absolutely Disgusting - Stay Away! If I could give this…read moreplace zero stars, I would. I booked two nights here, and while the first night was fine, the second night was an absolute nightmare. The blanket on the bed smelled like urine-not a faint odor, but an overwhelming stench that made it clear it hadn't been properly cleaned. When we checked the extra blanket in the cabinet, it had white body fluid stains all over it... Completely unacceptable. I contacted the owners, who assured me that "everything was cleaned" and brought us new comforters, but at that point, how could I trust that anything in this hotel was actually sanitary? We immediately booked a room elsewhere because there was no way we were staying another night. I requested a refund for the second night, which was more than fair given the disgusting conditions, but the owner refused. He claimed that because they offered a new blanket, that was a "sufficient resolution" --as if I should feel lucky to be given a clean blanket in the first place! Even worse, the implication was that we had somehow made the blanket smell like urine, which is both insulting and absurd. This was hands down the most unprofessional and unhygienic hotel experience I've ever had. If you care at all about cleanliness, customer service, or basic human decency, do not stay here.
