Unfortunately, our experience at this center was extremely disappointing. My wife was referred here for shoulder pain, and during her very first session, she was given exercises that were far too aggressive for her condition--with no proper supervision. As a result, her shoulder was dislocated on-site, and she had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital ER. This caused her severe pain, emotional distress, and unexpected medical costs. We expected professional and safe care, but this incident showed a clear lack of proper assessment and responsibility. Went to go check this place out it was located inside of Crunch fitness in El Cajon. The room was extremely small the tables were way too close together!! There is little privacy for treatment and any conversation! In addition there was a very strong Pine-Sol smell. And while I was there I can hear the banging of the weights from the gym. I would advise you to go look at the place before you choose them for your treatment. read more

My doctor she told me to go there because I have pain in my shoulder when I was there they give me a heart exam and they are dislocated my shoulder and the situations have been for like a couple months and I still have pain in my shoulder and I will make a claim to them read more

I came into nexus not knowing what to expect, just that I wanted to get better and back to normal. I left another physical therapy place due to scheduling issues and poor communication. I wasn't sure I could take a physical therapy center attached to a Chuze fitness center too seriously. Thankfully I was wrong. I've recently been through 30 sessions at nexus physical therapy of El Cajon due to a severe herniated disc. So all things considered I've spent a considerate amount of time with the staff at nexus. Everyday I've watched and listened to the staff interact with each patient with professional regimen and care with a much needed sense of positivity. The staff knows most patients nearly on a personal level. It's very endearing. They were able to identify necessary excercises and functions to my conditions through obvious education and experience. Nexus guessed my herniated disc before my MRI even. I wasn't the most easy of patients either. I'd constantly lack consistency with my schedule by being late or with cancelations. They were understanding and supportive nonetheless. I came into nexus barely able to walk. 30 sessions later a large portion of my function has returned and an even larger portion of my pain has deminished. I'm inexorably thankful and happy with nexus of El Cajon's treatment. P.S. Shout out to the staff Sally: you're a bada$&. You do a great job being the charismatic face of nexus as the receptionist as well as the general wheel of organization for appointments. I would've forgotten many appointments if it wasn't for you. Mia: you're a great personality and lead for nexus. Yelling at me to make sure my excersizes are being done right in a personable manner is a great quality for those who need to get better and is much appreciated. Dominick: thank you for showing me those new excercises. After one session we found a new mode of improvement. Angie, Jenny, Haley: you all are a huge support system for nexus. You're the horses that carry the wagon of patients when things are busy and when more than one patient needs attention. Ramton: you're knowledge of excersizes and professional experience is one of the reasons why I'm healing so well. With continued therapy I may be able to avoid surgery. Nexus is a great place for PT! I've been coming here for some time and have experienced nothing but great care. I also like that I was transitioned to learning some of the equipment in the gym as well and learning proper form to prevent future injuries. All staff was nice and very personable. Choose another facility. I chose this facility initially based on the positive reviews. I'm afraid I don't understand how they have so many positive reviews. The first visit with the evaluation was okay, but not great. The therapist measured my knee flexion and extension and then disagreed with my surgeon's wishes that my knee be completely straight; but said they'd work on it. I wanted to give them a chance so I signed up for several more appointments. I found that they didn't do anything more than I can do at home myself; there was never any extra effort to ensure I obtained full extension; they didn't clean the equipment used after each patient; the bands they use and have tied off at different stations have been used so many times that they are crunched up at the ends and filthy; they didn't maintain appropriate distances between clients; and they have techs (not therapists) that run you through the basic exercises that you can do at home easily. While the techs are very nice, they were more interested in goofing off with each other than paying attention to their clients. The biggest disappoinment and the reason I'm making an effort to write this review is after receiving the claim from my insurance company with all the detailed expenses. Beware of the charges, they are exorbitant. Fortunately, my insurance company has arranged for a reduced rate on most things, but considers the ice pack charge to be not reasonable nor appropriate and I agree. Really, $20 to put an ice pack on top of the TENS unit? On top of that, they also submitted a false claim to my insurance. On the last session, they charged me for the TENS unit and ice pack when I didn't receive it. I left right after the Air Relax sleeves came off. I didn't need to waste another 15 minutes there when I can do the same thing at home. Had I known at the start what they were charging for those items, I would never have allowed them to use them. I notified the insurance company of the false claim and contacted Nexus. The response from Nexus was that they never know exactly what the insurance will pay for and what it won't. Interesting. Go to PRN instead. On my first visit to PRN, they actually did a thorough evaluation of my knee and worked on it to help straighten it rather than just sticking me in air sleeves at the end of my exercises. read more

Not sure about the other reviewer's experience trying to setup an appointment because I've never had issues when calling here or talking to any of the staff. I'll admit I don't enjoy coming here, but that's not a reflection of the staff. Physical therapy is painful, it's a lot of work. I initially started out with a therapist that I didn't like. Sometimes that happens, you don't click or something happens with the service or the therapist. I did get another therapist, Carol, that was great. Carol did an excellent job explaining what she was doing and why I was experiencing issues between sessions. I also enjoyed working with Angela, she always had such a positive attitude and was very kind. One thing to note, when I initially requested with my doctor to try physical therapy again, we had discussed traction specifically. That is something they do not offer here. They don't have the equipment here. This is a very small facility, so keep that in mind when scheduling services. Since Nexus is located inside of Crunch Fitness parking can be a hassle sometimes, depending on when your appointment is scheduled. There is additional parking located behind the building though. read more

Nexus PT is located inside the Crunch gym, which helps make this a fully equipped PT clinic with access to all the different types of gym equipment and a pool. The staff here, from the front office to the therapists, are great. The therapists are diligent in working on strengthening and conditioning your injury and spend the entire time challenging you to push past your level of pain/discomfort that is required in order to bring your body back to pre-injury condition. I've experienced another PT clinic that doesn't do this, but instead hands you off to a trainee to babysit you doing exercises you can easily do on your own at home. Avoid places that do this for this is not true PT. People go to PT to get the help they can't give themselves, and Nexus' therapists went above and beyond to provide the level of service, attention, and dedication to help me recover from my injury. I am so thankful to have found them and highly recommend this place to anyone who needs a physical therapist! read more

I went to this location specifically for the pool therapy due to chronic lower back problems. I took classes 2 times a week with Angie as the instructor. Could not have asked for anyone better. Even with her teaching many classes each week she seems to know each of her students and the issues they are dealing with, calling out to one of them to modify an exercise that would be difficult for them to do or encouraging another to keep going. Her positive, welcoming attitude and encouragement was greatly appreciated. I highly recommend this location and all of the staff. read more

Everyone at Nexus physical therapy are very kind and caring people. Also the amount of progress after only one month was amazing for me. Dont even try therapy here. I waited 2 weeks to get a call from them, and they never called. Every time I called to see if they recieved my work order from my doctor to set up an appointment to go in for therapy, the front desk lady would tell me no we haven't received it. I called my doctor and they said they sent my papers, work order twice already. So i decided to come here and to see whats going on, got here and the lady (Rayna) at the front desk, said she called me and left me a voice message.....no, she never left a voice message, she did call but i was in the hospital attending my wife. When i left i called her but they never answered. My file was sitting right there in front of her, she would of never called back to check up on me to set up an appointment, obviously they dont want my business, i have no respect for this office, and their practice, worst customer service ever, and they're supposed to care and cure people? Pathetic. I give you 1 star for your lies about leaving me a voice message. Don't even waste your time coming here, its ran by buncha little kids !!! I will make sure none of my friends and family members go here. Im sick to my stomach, people like her, Rayna running the show??forget it. read more

Very unprofessional! I have had a lot of therapy and this is the worst ever. The staff spent a lot of time flirting with each other instead of working on clients. They talked to my assistant instead of me. They liked to cut my session short and didn't cover what the insurance approved. I think they were ripping off my insurance company. There is more but I think you get the idea. I quit after 2 out of 8 sessions. I wanted to give them a chance but they kept getting worse. I finally had enough! read more

The therapists and front office staff were all very nice and caring when it came to my rehab. I came here for rehab of my knee after my surgery and they really got me back to being more mobile quicker then I expected. The staff were very knowledgeable and gave me lots of advice for the rehab and for long term.
