I contracted Next Selection's Services for a homecoming dance at Valley Christian High School. The DJ showed up three hours earlier to set up and was prepared at the start time of our event. The music was good and he was played the songs we requested which contributed to the success of the event especially since our institution has strict regulations for lyrics. The party lighting definitely added to the atmosphere and was very effective especially since this was a black-light dance. Joel and his team came out for a destination wedding to Hawaii and worked alongside our coordination team (Aloha Bridal Connections) for a wonderful wedding. From first contact through the end of the night, it was nothing but smooth communication, professional presence and pure enjoyment! He's easy to chat with, is very knowledgable of events and weddings, and can create a pumpin' party! Everyone was on the dance floor all night. A few standouts: (1) With a new venue to set up at, Joel showed up during the rehearsal to talk with me and get details locked in for the wedding day. His professionalism and preparation on the rehearsal day, and in showing up early on the wedding day really made it all come together. (2)The day of their wedding 5/10/19 was actually the semi-finals Game 6 - Warriors vs. The Rockets. ALL the guests were checking their phones (big sports group!), attention pretty divided for the day overall. This was during cocktail hour, and with little but some background music on the agenda, on the spot Joel set up his speakers and his laptop to start streaming the game. Though not usual practice for a wedding, it was exactly what the guests and couple wanted, and his quick thinking really created a lasting memory for everyone. Walking into the ballroom to see everyone cheering and celebrating the Warriors win was a unique experience for all the vendors, but it made our couple's wedding even more unique and really started off the fun of the night. (3) When I say his music kept everyone on the floor ALL night, I'm not kidding. Old and new music brought groups of all ages out, and his charisma and flow really kept everything going. This post is over 2 years late. I'm not the kind of person to complain so I guess that's why it's taken me this long to rate this company. My husband and I got married on 9/8/18. We had a very intimate backyard wedding. When we first spoke to Joel he seemed like the perfect DJ. He even asked us specifically to not hire a "day of" coordinator. He said because he would have such a great understanding of what our day would look like he would basically play that role and a "day of coordinator" would get in the way. So day of the wedding comes. I'm so overwhelmed by everything. The DJ introduced himself... didn't look like his picture but I was so distracted that I didn't even notice it wasn't DJ Noel. I wouldn't have cared if the rest of the evening had gone to plan BUT it was horrible. There were multiple times where I had to look for him. He didn't know my timeline (he came to me during the reception to ask me if I was ready to move on to the next step). In the end he did play good dancing music and that was probably the only part I was happy with this company. I would never hire them again!!! read more

He was extremely professional and responsive before the event, and was sure to check in with me periodically during the event to make sure everything was on track. I didn't give him specific songs to play, but the guideline that we wanted music that was lots of fun to dance to without being inappropriate for a work function.
