I think I've been here enough times to give this place a review…read more I recently moved to the area and was looking for a new gym. I know there's a lifetime nearby too but it's so ridiculously overpriced and I don't use all the amenities to validate going there (having been a previous member). I love that wild horse is just a 6 minute drive from the house. It's usually the hardest part of going to workout - getting there, but it's so easy and there's always a parking spot open close to the door (since weather is in single digits!!) I'd say I go during odd hours since I have a hybrid work schedule. 11:30-2pm have 12+ people but it's never too crowded that I have to wait for a machine to be free (excluding today where everyone collectively decided to workout arms like me!) and 4-6p is when it gets a little busier, I bet due to people getting off work and wanting to get their workout in. Machines are clean as well as locker rooms. Towels are always available once you walk down to the floor or hit up the locker room to put your stuff away. There are cubbies where you can quickly stash your belongings as well. There are also jacket hooks in the locker room for colder seasons. The staff are all nice and friendly! The members are too! There's a wide array of machines for every muscle or variations of ones you've probably seen at other gyms. A ton of life fitness machines, free weights, cables, treadmills, ellipticals, stair masters, you name it, they've got it! Couples membership is around $130/month plus $100~ sign up fee Worth it to stay or get in the best shape of your life!

They're great for stretching, yoga, barre, and are typically not crowded. You should definitely check out this gym! Ps the patio is great!

When I tell you that Blue Ocean has changed my life, I really mean it…read more My two closest friends started working out here a couple of years ago, and after finally giving in to peer pressure, I decided to give it a shot last January. I'm coming up on my one year mark and I can honestly say it has been one of the best things I've ever done for myself! I never felt great about any gyms I've belonged to in the past. I'm not a huge group class person, and personal training has always been $$$$$. Enter: semi-personal training! Basically, each of the trainers here has a few clients at one time, but it still feels, well... personal. You get your own workout, there are just others around you doing theirs, and it actually adds a fun element of community at the same time. Instead of working out so hard that you can barely walk the next morning, the approach here is more reasonable and based on intentional repetition vs. killing yourself. I typically do three circuits made up of 3-4 exercises, 3-4 times each. My muscle growth has been slow but extremely consistent, and I'm finally seeing the exact results I've always wanted. Working out three times per week at Blue Ocean has kept me feeling so strong and healthy. As a bonus, when I have to travel for work, I can pause my membership--and they even give me workouts to do on the road. The trainers are fantastic people, and the clientele is great, too. I look forward to belonging to Blue Ocean for a long time!

When I arrived, an employee had me fill out paperwork and provide my card information. I trained that day and returned once more, but the experience was disappointing -- no coaching, no feedback, and overcrowded classes where you could barely move. I'm new to boxing and received zero instruction from any of the coaches during either visit. I decided to cancel before the end of the 7-day trial. When I called the owner, he instantly became defensive and claimed I'd signed a 12-month contract. When I reminded him he promised a trial, he said he was "on a roof" and hung up on me. He later admitted that his employee shouldn't have signed me up for a membership and said he would refund me. I provided my name as he requested, but he never issued the refund and stopped responding to my messages. As for the facility itself, it was unclean and overcrowded. The floors were covered in sweat, shoes and clothes were piled in the hallway, and the air was stifling. Safety seemed like an afterthought -- I even had to buy used hand wraps from an employee because no one had a key to the new ones. In the end, I was charged for a "free trial" that offered no training, no professionalism, and no respect. I've had to dispute the charge with my bank. I would strongly recommend finding another gym that values honesty, cleanliness, and actual instruction.

I tried my first session for free with them and was on the fence on if I wanted to try it again…read more The staff first tried selling me on an unlimited access at a WAY too high price. Then they told me about a 4pack option to drop in 4 times. What they forgot to mention is that you have to spend the $80/month for a minimum of 3 months when you buy a 4 pack. Hmm maybe change it to a 4x3 pack so there is truth in the package sale. My kids got sick, my husband had to go out of town for work and I haven't been able to get time for another kickboxing workout. So there goes my $80 two months in a row. Coach Drea is a good teacher. She did take time to help me one-on-one when I was struggling in my free class. You will get quality kickboxing classes here. But they offer no flexibility when life happens and continue to charge you when you are unable to use their services.

They take the time to teach you each move when you are a beginner and focus on proper form, as well as a great workout. I usually dont enjoy workout classes and prefer weightlifting / working out on my own, but this has been a great way to switch up my routine 1-2 times per week. I leave each class dripping in sweat, and find that you can almost decide your own intensity for the class. As you get more endurance, you build up your strength and speed through the moves. If you are looking to switch up your routine and join a high energy, welcoming environment, this is for you!

I really wanted to like this place…read more.. As big as it looks on the outside, I felt kind of claustrophobic inside because all the machines were so bunched up together. It definitely attracts a specific crowd. I didn't feel intimidated because I'm so used to going to different gyms having moved around a lot, but I could see how one may be turned off by the vibe. I personally appreciated the metal music because it made me want to push myself, but not for everyone. I went with a friend because she wanted to check it out and she did end up signing up out of convenience being close by her work but she ended up cancelling. There was a woman who was just working out that offered to show us how to use a machine I'd never seen before. She was very friendly and so happened to be an instructor so we knew we were being taught correctly. It wasn't as crowded as club fitness, but definitely more serious gym goers. Take what you will from this!

Everyone here is super focused on self improvement- it's such a breath of fresh air. If you are a newbie to the gym, I know without a doubt any one person here would be more than happy to help out and explain machines. Such a welcoming atmosphere with a ton of great people. They just finished an expansion that made this great place even better. Highly recommend 10/10!!!
